Fans of Wizard, who went on hiatus in 2013, will surely remember guitarist Masumi. You may even be keeping up with him on Twitter, on which he had two announcements to make to fans detailing what happened in the 6 years since Wizard came to an end. Here’s our translation of them below.
“I’ll start with the good news. In these past 6 years, I’ve gotten married, bought a house, and had children. I spent my days feeling fulfilled.
Here’s the bad news. I’ve been in poor health since last month, and and so I went to see a doctor. Test results came back saying I have primary lung cancer. It’s spread to other areas of my body as well, and it’s stage 4. After getting some genetic testing, I plan to move forward with chemotherapy.
I really wanted to play at least one more show. I’m so disappointed.”
As of the time of this article’s posting, Masumi’s announcements have received over 1,200 Retweets, which goes to show how many still fondly remember Wizard and Masumi.
