On January 12, MORRIGAN lost their guitarist Pitty. He had been taking a break from the band following a bad case of acute tonsillitis…or was he? The next thing MORRIGAN knew, he was asking to be let go from the band. Here’s the band’s official comment (translated by yours truly):
Thank you for your continuous support for MORRIGAN.
Our guitarist Pitty has been in the hospital for a while, but as of today, he has left the band.
We believed Pitty when he said he had to be hospitalized for acute tonsillitis, and so we waited for his return. We were unable to get in touch with him until he contacted us the other day, asking to let him quit the band.
He didn’t have any motivation to be in the band despite our encouragement, and we discovered that he is in considerable financial debt to various places. We had a discussion and decided to let him leave the band.
We’ll continue on as usual with the help of a support member, so please continue to give us your support.

The Members of MORRIGAN
Bands need a lot of motivation and trust to be able to succeed; it’s too bad that Pitty apparently lacked those two vital qualities. Members haven’t commented on it much, save for a brief angry outburst on Setsuna’s Twitter; he said that if someone didn’t have motivation to be in a band and could quit just like that, they shouldn’t have joined a band to begin with. “We’ll make him regret leaving us,” he ended the Tweet.
Hopefully MORRIGAN will be able to find a new permanent guitarist soon. For now, it looks like ex. KILLANETH’s Nihit will be helping them out.
