New live-sold single and sponsored events for Wedday

Some cool news for ウェンズデー (Wedday) fans! It seems that not only their new live-limited maxi-single has been on sale since September 13th, but also they’re planning few sponsored events in upcoming months.
The maxi-single is entitled 「Kisekinomizu」and actually it has been available during lives for few weeks already. Originally you could get it in two types: “いちご味” (Ichigomi; Strawberry taste) for 1000 yen featuring only 2 tracks and “水色” (Mizuiro; Light blue) – which costed 1500 yen and contained 4 tracks. However, since the first type has only little copies left and the latter is completely sold out, the band has decided to issue a completely new type which is a compilation of the previous two. It’s been available since September 13th and is now called “ぶどう味” (Budoumi; Grape taste). There are 4 tracks included:
01. 奇跡の水 (Kiseki no Mizu)
02. 10年後もバラバラのバーバラ (10 Nengo mo Barabara no Baabara)
03. 夏メロ2010～フ・タ・リ・ハ・カ・タ・オ・モ・イ～ (Natsu Mero 2010～Fu・ta・ri・ha・ka・ta・o・mo・i～)
04. ××××
To promote the single, the band is going to hold several sponsored events, during which the maxi-single will be sold of course. The events will be called 「AFTER SCHOOL HELLOWEEN」:
October 15th @ Sendai HooK
October 31st @ Morioka club change
November 1st @ Akita Club SWINDLE
November 7th @ Yamagata Session
November 9th @ Kooriyama CLUB＃9

To celebrate their 10th anniversary Wedday is going to sponsor few events in July, and the small tour is going to be called 「アンチ２エイジング」(Anti 2 Ageing)

There is also supposed to be a live on the 4th of August at Sendai HooK, but no details are available so far.

MVP48 Omnibus and Events

There is a new Sendai-based omnibus coming out August 1st! It will be entitled 「MVP48」, and it will include 12 songs from 12 different bands who all make up the MVP48! MVP48 stands for “Michinoku-Visual-Project” and the 48 is the number of members in each band combined! The omnibus includes the following bands:

the CODE.
XIBALBA
ジェラス (Jealous)
Jin-Machine

After the release they will hold a series of lives featuring all the bands on the omnibus. Starting with an instore event at little hearts. in Sendai on August 21st!

Akasic Records 5th anniversary event

Akasic Records will hold a special event to commemorate their 5th anniversary! It will take place on the 29th of May at Sendai HooK. The participating artists are: ウェンズデー (Wedday), GREGORY, Xibalba-シバルバ-, Varbarossa and the CODE.
The tickets cost 2500 in advance and 3000 yen at the door.
What is more, during that event a band called ラフィ (Raffi) will have a one-day revival. Let me introduce them shortly:

Guitar: さくら (Sakura)
Bass: 茂吉 (Mokichi)
The band has been active between 2005 and 2008. During that period they have released 3 maxi-singles and participated in an Akasic Records omnibus as well.

Everyone loves a good henchman, am I right? Tsubasa (ex-Wedday/Moeru Konayuki) is no different! His henchman is his former bandmate Aryu (ex-Moeru Konayuki). He even makes Aryu follow him around!
Quite a pair. And how cool is that? I’m currently taking applications for my top henchmen. Any takers?

Wedday’s new single

Wedday will be releasing a new single in two types on September 1st!
The single is called 「真夏の夜の夢」 (Manatsu no Yoru no Yume; Midsummer’s Night Dream). The regular edition is just the two track single, with the title track plus a second called 「NAME」 for 1000 yen.
There’s also a ‘wonderful’ edition which comes with the single, plus a DVD containing footage from their EXPO2009 lives which we talked about here. This edition costs 2000 yen.

Wedday 10th Anniversary

Wedday is currently sponsoring an event tour called the “Pandemonium Expo 2009″, and soon after will celebrate their 10th anniversary with an event on September 1st at Sendai Hook, titled “Wedday EXPO – Ayame Kokujuuji Mako Birthday Festival 2009″. This event in particular will feature appearances from Wedday members from 2000, 2002, 2004, 2006, and 2009. Vocalist Ayame Kokujuuji Mako also wrote a message of thanks on the occasion of Wedday’s 10th anniversary:
I noticed 10 years have passed (laugh)
Wedday regulars and high-energy people,
all ex. Wedday members and support members,
all the fighting bangya,
all the fighting bandmen,
all who played with us,
Akasic records staff and roadies,
Live house, CD shops, and label personnel,

Wonderful news for Wedday fans! Today it was announced that they will hold a one day revival of their popular 2006 lineup! It will take place on May 29th at Sendai Hook, and more specific details will be announced soon.

Wedday fans might be interested in knowing that Fantastic~sama (vocalist Mako’s female demon persona&vocalist of Sider) has taken over Wedday’s OHP for the time being. After Wedday’s live on April 11th at Sendai BIRD LAND, there are three Sider sponsored events. The first taking place at Koriyama #9 on April 27th, second at Akita Club SWINDLE on April 28th, and then Sendai HooK on April 30th. No information on who will participate in Sider’s session lineups as of yet, but we will keep you posted!

Wedday down to one

Some bad and good news for Wedday fans. On the live of February 5th at Holiday Shinjuku, Reito, Hime, and Noa will be withdrawing from the band. Reito’s reason for leaving is musical differences while Hime and Noa both stated it being difficult to study and keep up with a band for now. They all apologize for the announcement, but thank everyone and will do their best to make the live on the 5th the best.
As for vocalist Wednesday (aka Mako), while he is saddened and upset by the announcement, he stated that Wedday will not be stopped.

Wedday new release + lucky bags

Good news for Wedday fans! They have decided to make their new previously live-only single 「D-ドロップ/うつつ」 (D-Drop / Utsutsu) as well as their History DVD available for mail-order through their website! Along with this, they have also announced a variety of “Lucky bags”. The types of bags they offer include a Premium Photo Set bag, a CD + Premium Privilege bag, an “Oshare Set”, a “Chef’s Special” bag, and an “Order-made” bag. The prices range from 2,000 yen to 10,000 yen. But if you’re interested you’d better hurry, the grab bags are only for sale until the 16th and are limited in number.
They’re also offering one special grab bag of goodies from vocalist Wednesday’s (aka Mako) session band Sider. That set is priced at 4,444 yen.

ウェンズデー(Wedday) has announced that they will be releasing a new maxi single and will be selling a dvd soon! The maxi single will contain their new songs, D-ドロップ( D-DROP) and うつつ(utsutsu), and the dvd will contain the history of the band. There will be more information on both very soon!

As I mentioned before in this post, ウェンズデー(Wedday) announced that they would be gaining a member on September 1st. Well it looks like they couldn’t wait to introduce him. The new member, on guitar & vocal, is レイト(Reito)! Reito has been support for Wedday for a while now so it’s great to see him becoming an official member. While they have already announced him as a member, his official joining date will still be September 1st.
Also, they announced that they will be giving out a DVD to those who reserve with them for their lives on September 1st and the 2nd, ウェンズデーヒストリーDVD誕生～2008 (Wedday History DVD birth~2008), containing footage of Wedday’s creation up to August’s Toohoku teikoku II (actually, two versions, one for the live in Sendai and one for Niigata, but I assume they’ll contain the same content, different packaging like they usually do).
And last but not least, they’ve already announced they will hold 2 events for Reito’s birthday on October 17th and 19th. More details on these two events will be available soon!

Wedday big announcement

ウェンズデー(Wedday) made two big announcements on their homepage today. On September 1st they will gain a new member and Wedday’s first BEST ALBUM will go on sale! The name of the album will be titled 水曜ベスト・ア・ラ・モード (Wednesday Best-a-la-mode) and will contain the 12 following tracks:
4．ブランドニューウエ～ブ(Brand new wa~ve)
5．虫我(mushiware)
12．∞（未発表Ver.）(∞（unpublished Ver.）)
The cost will be 2,500yen and will come with a 16 page booklet. The only downside is that it will be limited to live hall sales only.

Wedday soon to be down a member

Some sad news for ウェンズデー (Wedday) fans, but it was announced on Wedday’s OHP that guitarist ミント (Mint) will withdraw from the band following their live on August 27th. His reason for leaving is a difference in opinions on the musical direction of the band and in his parting words he asks the fans to continue their support of Wedday.
Vocalist ウェンズデー (Wednesday/aka Mako) and drummer ヒメ (Hime) are both saddened by Mint’s decision, but they support him and will continue on as the new Wedday.

A while ago, we posted about the band ウェンズデー (Wedday) adding new member(s) to their ranks. Well, as most fans have noticed that their site was updated a while ago as well with a sillouette image of the new band member but not other details were released.

Thanks to Sephie who pointed this out to me. The new member has been officially revealed!!!
His name is ヒメ (Hime) and he’s their new drummer! Finally we can see a picture of him (the one to the left here) after vocalist Mako/ウェンズデー’s slight taunting us with only a partial photo in his blog a few days ago, haha!
