snaked-lows-3rd-collection

As many of you know, and as we’ve talked about before on S-T.net, れいた (Reita) from the GazettE is part of the collaborative brand, SNAKED LOWS.

The first collection from the brand was out at the end of 2008. In 2009, they announced the release of their 2nd collection.

Well, now the third collection is coming out!
This collection is called 「THREE CHORD RING」 and features three “simply designed” rings that will be for sale as of May 27th. They are currently taking reservations for the rings, and although they officially go on sale May 27th, they won’t be shipped out until June.

[Descriptions from top to bottom]

The first ring is the “ROGO RING”, which is a simple ring that combines an appearance of solidity and emphasizes the brand’s logo.

The second is the “BLIND SNAKE RING” and is a more abstract piece with has a gentle edge that repesents a snake. There are two versions to the ring, one that is gold coated and another that is made from gold.

Last is the “HAMMERED RING”. This silver ring contains the brand’s core message and was created through random striking giving it an uneven edge and making each one unique.

The rings come as a three piece set which according to their website, you can wear all on one finger or on different fingers, making it fun to coordinate. The ~THREE CHORD RING~Gold Coating Model is 23100 yen (roughly $250 USD) and the ~THREE CHORD RING~K18 Yellow Gold Model is 105000 yen (roughly $1120 USD).

the-gazette-reita-interview-in-arena-37c-march-2010

I recently bought the March issue of ‘Arena 37C’ and I’m currently working through translating interviews from it. The first one I bring to you is a personal interview with the bassist of GazettE, Reita. Here, he mainly talks about the band’s gig last year on Christmas Eve, as well as boys being “simple-minded”, his love for motorbikes and the importance of memories.

In the recent midst of what seems to be a lot of bands disbanding, I hope you enjoy reading this interview where you hear about such a great band who still get on well together after so many years :)

All extra notes provided by myself are in []s.

— Could you tell us about more about your 2009 Last Live on the 24th December at the Tokyo Big Sight?

Now that we’re into the new year [2010] it seems like a long time ago, but on that day we all got really excited. Because of the place [of the live] and the special set list that we had, I think it had a different feel to our regular ones [gigs].

— I thought so too. I got a big thrill from seeing the scene of that large hall full of an audience.

I’d like the GazettE to continue being a band that gives you [fans] a thrill.

btruetv-gazette-ruki-uruha-interview

This interview is quite a few years old, I believe, but it’s not from too far back. It’s the TV interview from ‘BtrueTV’ with The GazettE members Ruki and Uruha, where they talk about everything from how GazettE formed, their gigs overseas, foie gras and Nintendo DS.

I have also occassionaly added notes to further explain some of the translations in small print in []s.

I really enjoyed this interview – hope you all do too :)

Presenter: I will now introduce today’s guests; two members from the very popular Visual-kei band, GazettE!
Ruki: I am the vocalist, Ruki.
Uruha: I am the guitarist, Uruha.
Presenter: I always listen to your songs and watch you on TV, so I’m very happy to have the chance to meet you!
Uruha: Thank you very much.
Ruki: (laughs)
Presenter: I’m not lying!
Ruki: Oh, really?
Presenter: You looked at me as if to say I was lying.
Ruki: Well, yes.
Presenter: Of course not! I always enjoy watching you.
Ruki & Uruha: Thank you very much.
Presenter: You fit with the mood of my cafe very well today!
Ruki: Yeah, I think we did alright. It’s a good job I didn’t come in a t-shirt!

snaked-lows-2nd-collection

About a year ago, we talked about how Reita from The GazettE was teaming up with DEAL DESIGN’s Yamashita to create a new accessory brand, 「SNAKED LOWS」.

The brand has announced that they are now releasing their second collection, which includes a wallet and key chain. They are items that are designed for their ease of use, and can be used every day, or on special occasions.

So first up is the “ROUND CUT WALLET”, which is made from tanned cowhide cut into a gentle curve, and balanced with python leather. The design shares similar characteristics to that of a biker style wallet, with added silver parts to give it a beautiful finish. (Click photos in enlarge).

sl-002bk sl-002wh sl-002bk inner_000

The wallet comes in three colours, “BLACK-PYTHON”, “DIAMOND-PYTHON” and “RED-PYTHON”, all of which cost 42000 yen (roughly $465 USD). Inside, it can hold up to ten cards, there are two places for bills, as well as a coin slot. The first 100 people who buy the wallet will receive an original poster featuing Reita and Yamashita.

The second item is the “COFFIN CUT KEY CHAIN”. This one is an accessary which is simple, yet thick and heavy (perfect for not losing your keys). The brand name is carefully carved into the design, giving it a wonderful finishing touch.

sl-003 sl-004bk sl-004gd

The keychains come in three colours as well, silver, black brass and brass. The silver version costs 36750 yen (roughly $410 USD), whereas the black brass and brass types are 16800 yen (around $185 USD). Those who order first will receive a special key cover as well; there are only 50 of the silver type, and 100 of both the black brass and bass types.

For more information about each product, check out the SNAKED LOWS 2nd Collection page on DEAL DESIGN.
