message-from-hiroki-of-since-1889

I am going to miss this band. Hiroki of Since 1889 has posted an english comment about disbanding.

Thanks for the messages from friends&fans all over the world. It’s our first time in life to have messages from overseas, and I’m very impressed.
About the disband,we’ve had a lot of discussion until this decision. We all love music, and no one wants to quit it.
We want to see you soon, even in a different way–and that time,I hope we can play our music overseas too.We still want to make people happier with our music, and we believe we can do it.
Thanks for all your support, and thanks to all the friends&fans who was concerned with Since1889.
Sorry for my bad English!!
Hope to see you on August 1st!
Hiroki

since1889-til-2009

One more info to confirm… but it seems that Since1889 will disband this summer after a final live on August 1st.
Here is what I read on Tainted World on that topic :

They will disband, they distributed flyers at their concert tonight (in Japanese time) that stated that the last live will be at Meguro Rockmaykan at August 1st. It will be called To All The People Who Exist and no reason for the decision to disband was given.

That would make just one more disbandment… but with Yaminade back, I can’t complain today…

There’s a new omnibus album coming out on May 10th called 『 -無限大∞感染-』 (Mugendai ∞ Kansen; Infinity∞Infection)! It iwll feature eleven bands: AibeLL, Art Cube, GallowS, シネマストリップ (Cinema Strip), Since1889, チーキィ (Cheeky), デンジャー☆ギャング (Danger☆Gang), 水樂 (Byakura), Venus, 焔 (Homura) and Rubik.

The CD will be on sale at livehouses starting April 18th at the Z & S Coupling Tour by the same name, which is sponsored by Zёnit Music Factory Co.Ltd. & Sequence Records:

Tickets go on sale starting March 1st.

They’re also planning something kind of cool with Danger Gang, Homura and Cinema Strip. Twenty-five lucky fans will have a chance to go on a ‘bus tour’ with the bands, to their lives on April 18th in Osaka and on the 19th in Nagoya.

The party will travel from Tokyo (taking a night bus) and arrive in Osaka at 10:00am on April 18th. There will be a few hours of free time, then the event. After the live, participants will go bathing in a health spa. After that, everyone will head to Nagoya, where again there will be free time, followed by the performance, and then back to Tokyo.

Those who want to participate must register between February 25th and March 20th. The cost is 18900 yen (which covers the bus cost ONLY) and will only be held if there is a minimum of 20 people going.

what-happened-to-since-1889

Thanks to all the people who have been sending in their Ask Ernie questions! I’m working hard on getting through as many as I can, so please be patient if yours hasn’t been answered yet!

Today’s question is from Thursday, and it was perfect timing!

Q I’m curious to know if you have any idea what might have happened to SINCE1889. Their website is gone. :(

A: So I set off to find the answer to your question, and indeed their website was gone. The one on vkdb didn’t work, nor did the one linked from their label, Sequence Records.

I headed the member’s blogs, and Hiroki had just posted today (January 31st) that Since 1889 has relocated their OHP.

You can now keep up to date with them by visiting http://www.since1889.jp!

You can see on thier OHP that they now have four members, instead of three plus a new look! Their new member is “SUPERguitar”ist yoshiatsu. As stated in his first entry to his official Since 1889 blog, he joined on January 14th.

Since the beginning of the year, the band has participated in two lives, and have a few planned for February and March.

For all fans who want to keep up with the band, you can also add them on MySpace: http://www.myspace.com/since1889official, and check out the member’s blogs:
Ko-ta – http://yaplog.jp/since_ko-ta
Setsu – http://yaplog.jp/since_setsu
yoshiatsu – http://yaplog.jp/since_atsu
Hiroki – http://yaplog.jp/since_hiroki

I hope that answers your question! We’ll be sure to keep up with them and post news as it comes!

since1889-news

Since1889 has “lifted the ban” and announced two pieces of pretty spiffy news!
The first, is that the band will be putting out a new maxi single on June 4th called DIABOLOS. There aren’t any details of a tracklist, but the single will cost 1575 yen.

The second piece of news, which is pretty exciting, is that they will be joining Sequence Records (which currently hosts artists like exist†trace, Art Cube, Venus, LSD and 殺~KOЯO~). Starting… well, March 1st. So, today in Japan.
