Rubik’s back to being a five-member band!
Reported on guitarist Shion’s blog on January 5th:
Starting today
new member
Takebou
joins!
His official membership starts in February but
he’ll be active [with us] starting at January lives so
everyone, support him!
The fact that he’s not “official” yet means that the band has yet to add him to their website, but he’s already playing lives and has changed his name on his blog to Rubik Gt. Takebou.
I expect we can look forward to an official update from the band next month.

Rubik announced that they will be releasing 2 simultaneous singles 『Red impact』 and 『Pulse of Black』 on 22nd December.
Both singles will cost 1050 yen each and the tracklists are as follows:

Good news for fans of ルービック (Rubik) – they are releasing a new single on December 22nd! It is entitled as 「哀愁メドレー」 (Aishuu Medley) and will cost 1,575 yen. Other details aren’t yet available, but the band has also new outfits.

New single for Rubik

ルービック (Rubik) has announced their first release after their guitarist REy left the band in April. It seems that they’ve decided to continue with 4 members only though!
Anyway, the single will be entitled 「パラレル流星群」(Parallel Ryuuseigun). It will be released on the 22nd of July and cost 1260 yen. Unfortunately, no more details are available, but we will surely let you know once there is more information about the single!
However, the guys are planning to hold a sponsored event on the 4th of June at Urawa Narciss! It will be called 『PSYCHEDELIC HOME PARTY【Everything started here.】』. Other participating bands are: Metry, アケノカラス (Ake no Karasu), MURASAKI, ORTH†eRGE, SwallowtaiL, Vanish and ダーリン。(Darling). The tickets cost 2800 yen in advance and 3300 yen at the door.

Rubik loses REy

ルービック (Rubik) have announced that on April 8th, their guitarist REy will be leaving the band.
The following comment was posted by REy on the band’s OHP:
To all of our “Cubists”,
I’m sorry for making you worry as I was unexpectedly absent for our two important lives; our event on March 14th and on March 23rd.
We told everyone who came to the live at Narciss yesterday, however, I’ll use this place to announce it again.
I’m sorry for deceiving the members and our office about being ill, which resulted in a lot of confusion for everyone while I’ve been at home recuperating.
As the result of much worry about it, keeping myself in mind, along with the other members of Rubik we came to the decision that for the band’s future activities, although I have no excuse, I have chosen to selfishly give up [on the band] during the midst of our journey.
For the members who are doing their best to release CDs and to sponsor events, I feel that my actions have been unacceptable.
I am terribly sorry to our fans and to all those connected to the band.
Even though I have been selfish, I do want to take this chance to tell everyone how grateful I am.
Without me, the members will continue on as always, and will put all of their effort into Rubik’s future activities, so I hope that you will support them.
We have added a live on April 8th.
That same day I will be leaving Rubik and will leave the stage.Although there are only two lives left on the 7th and 8th, I will do my very best, so please support me.

The live on the 8th is a free event which is an all you can drink [soft drinks] live! The show itself is free, but the drink cost is 1000 yen. It will take place at Urawa Narciss, the doors open at 4:00 and the live begins at 4:30.

Rubik have updated their OHP recently with a new look, it’s rather snazzy~ and you can see it below;

Along with their new look, they also have a sponsored event coming up with チーキィ(Cheeky) on February 14th!
It’s called 『PSYCHEDELIC VALENTINE PARTY～俺のチョコバットはお前のものだ～』 (PSYCHEDELIC VALENTINE PARTY ~ore no CHOCO BAT wa omae no mono da~)
And so far the only confirmed performers are Rubik and Cheeky. but.. events on a holiday always sound like such fun~.

Zёnit Music Factory V.A DVD

Zёnit Music Factory will be releasing a various artists DVD on January 21st!
The DVD will contain live footage for six bands taken from their spring label tour, 「～無限大∞感染～」 (~Mugendai∞Kansen), their Kanto, six prefecture tour, 「アルゴの羅針盤」 (Arugo no Rashinban), their summer event, 「タマカン～漆黒～」 (Tamakai~Shikkoku~) and finally, their autumn “trial experiment” at Saitama Kaikan, 「～銀河大聖堂-Star sparkle～」 (~Ginga Taiseidou~).
The bands and songs included will be as follows:

Mustema†Dorcheme updated their site with more information about a Tarrot sponsered event at Shinjuku RUIDO K4. The bands set to perform include ZEST, SCAPEGOAT, Rubik, α:Vout, Mustema†Dorcheme and of course -tarrot-!!
Event takes place on September 18th, advance ticket prices are 2,500 and 3,000 yen at the door.

Its so cute to see bandmen(women) listing who their influences are. Kenichi lists that his favorite artists are MUCC, Malice Mizer and that his most respected person is Gackt!
Sounds like his inner fanboy to old school groups is shining through! I should send him some of Yanni’s works. Just saying, everyone could use alittle Yanni.

Rubik will be releasing its second maxi single this summer, on August 7th ! 「原色レイトショー」 (Genshoku Late Show) will cost 1050 yen and will contain the following tracks :

Omnibus album, event and bus tour

There’s a new omnibus album coming out on May 10th called 『 -無限大∞感染-』 (Mugendai ∞ Kansen; Infinity∞Infection)! It iwll feature eleven bands: AibeLL, Art Cube, GallowS, シネマストリップ (Cinema Strip), Since1889, チーキィ (Cheeky), デンジャー☆ギャング (Danger☆Gang), 水樂 (Byakura), Venus, 焔 (Homura) and Rubik.
The CD will be on sale at livehouses starting April 18th at the Z & S Coupling Tour by the same name, which is sponsored by Zёnit Music Factory Co.Ltd. ＆ Sequence Records:
April 18th @ HOLIDAY OSAKA
April 19th @ HOLIDAY NAGOYA
April 25th @ Yokohama FORCE
May 3rd @ Meguro Rock Maykan
May 10th @ Urawa Narciss (Tour Final)
Tickets go on sale starting March 1st.
They’re also planning something kind of cool with Danger Gang, Homura and Cinema Strip. Twenty-five lucky fans will have a chance to go on a ‘bus tour’ with the bands, to their lives on April 18th in Osaka and on the 19th in Nagoya.
The party will travel from Tokyo (taking a night bus) and arrive in Osaka at 10:00am on April 18th. There will be a few hours of free time, then the event. After the live, participants will go bathing in a health spa. After that, everyone will head to Nagoya, where again there will be free time, followed by the performance, and then back to Tokyo.
Those who want to participate must register between February 25th and March 20th. The cost is 18900 yen (which covers the bus cost ONLY) and will only be held if there is a minimum of 20 people going.

Rubik : new look + first maxi-single

Remember Rubik ? They’ve been introduced by Miku about 8 months ago now ! And after several distributed CDs, they’ve finally decided to release their first maxi-single ! There isn’t much details about that as of yet, I can just tell you that it’s gonna be out on December 26th, but it would not surprise me if they decided to sell it only during their lives… Anyway, be sure to check it out if you can !
As it is often the case, New Release = New Look, and as always Rubik looks awesome ! Dont you think Kenichi somehow looks like Satsuki (from ReS) on this picture ?

I’d like to start this post first with an introduction to this band as you don’t see them mentioned very often around. This is in no way a new band, they’ve been around for quite a while~
The band’s name is ルービック (Rubik)!
They actually started activities back in 2006 and have been pretty active live wise ever since. In this same year, they released a track on the V.A. album 杜都新勢 (Totoshinsei). Quite a few months after, they released their first demo last year on February 12th, 2007 titled -sick-.

Drums: yuri
There music ranges from heavy sounds to melodious tunes.
As for news! I’m a little late on this, but it’s better to do it now then never.
