A few more details on GRID

a-few-more-details-on-grid

Some of you may remember that I’ve said a few things about a session band called グリッド (Grid) back here.

Well it appears that they now have a real OHP, and that their full name is 「グリッド elementary school」 in which all the members are teachers !

Vo.aika (ex-WERKMARE, now in ロドウェル (Rodwell))
Gt.Urala (ex-ポワトリン (Poitrine), now in EsoLLa)
Gt.瞋 (Shin) (now in m:a.ture)
Ba.静時 (Seiji) (now in ロドウェル (Rodwell))

Best-album for Poitrine

best-album-for-poitrine

Although ポワトリン (Poitrine) has disbanded back in June, it seems the band will be releasing a best-of on November 4th.

Entitled 「ポワレツ大百科」 (Poiretsu Dai Hyakka), it will contain 15 songs (I don’t know if there will be any new songs on it) and will cost 3150 yen.

Talking about Poitrine, did you know that Urala is not only acting as a support member for SOUND OF DRUG ? He’s also part of a band called グリッド (Grid) along with Aika and Seiji from ロドウェル (Rodwell) ! So far they’ve released 2 singles ! But they don’t seem to have an OHP, although you can follow their activities through Urala and Aika’s blogs.

Denu and Yusuke move blogs

denu-and-yusuke-move-blogs

Denu moved blogs and he seems to be doing some sessions! You can follow his adventures here. Also Yusuke has a new blog and he looks adorable too!

I am still sad the band disbanded but we can hope the others will also move to new blogs and new projects~!

(edit) Urala also has a new blog here.

Poitrine disbands

poitrine-disbands

Thanks to Maakeri for letting us know about this one!

Poitrine has announced that after their oneman live on June 6th at Shibuya O-WEST, they will be disbanding (they actually worded it as the band will “die”).

They apologize to all their fans, but say that this conclusion was a result of the various concerns of both the band members, and the staff.

The members have each posted comments about the disbanding, mostly offering apologies to the fans and thanking everyone for their support over their three and a half years of activity. As far as a reason goes say that there were various reasons piling up, but doing activities in the future was becoming increasingly difficult, so with much difficulty, this is the decision that they reached.

Random Fact of the Day

random-fact-of-the-day

Pets! They are wonderful, they bring us joy. A lot of jrockers post mass amount of pictures of pets in their blogs. When Denu of poitrine was asked about if he had a pet his response was as follows:

I had a turtle, but stuff happened, and I ended up giving him to a person who was a turtle maniac who lived in my neighborhood

I’d also like to take this moment to tell everyone of my newest investment. What is it? None other than the awesome that is Sea Monkeys.

CANNONBALL vol. 4

cannonball-vol-4

Every year a new edition of an omnibus album called CANNONBALL comes out.
This year, naturally, is no different.
CANNONBALL vol. 4 is set to be released on April 11th and features a total of seven bands. The tracklist isn’t published yet (from what I’ve seen at least…) but the bands participating are:
Bergerac
ダウト (D=OUT)
姫苺 (Himeichigo)
Juliette
ポワトリン (Poitrine)
キャンゼル (Canzel)
νNEU

The cost for this lovely omnibus album is 3200 yen.
The one thing I like about omnibus albums is that you can buy one CD and get a sampling of a bunch of different bands, which when you’re looking for new bands but need to save a little money, is always a helpful thing.

Babylon’s new guitarist!

babylons-new-guitarist

babylonsae.jpgNow as I’ve said numerous times before, I love this band. The band, of course, is バビロン (Babylon).

If you remember, it was announced in this post that their current guitarist, Maya, would be leaving the we posted here about their new singles and their oneman that’s coming up.

Now, along with updating with their newest look, they have posted a photo and the name of their newest guitarist, 冴 (Sae) who is featured to your left. The boys also have all undergone a costume change (not that theirs are ever too elaborate… but suits are hot) and you can check out their new style on their OHP. … Haku looks somewhat surprised in his photo, haha.

They’ll also be having a three-man live they’ll be having nearing the end of the month, on the 25th which is with ポワトリン (Poitrine). and 【_Vani;lla】.

If you want to know more about the band and hear some samples, make sure you check out the feature post on them.

Denu’s engrish

denus-engrish

I thought this was cute, Denu (bass player for the crack cute band, POITRINE / ポワトリン) actually typed in English….or something that is kinda like English? O~ob

In his entry here, (yes he posts alot of weird videos) he explains how grateful and happy he is that the band has overseas fans, he hopes that in 2008 that he will be able to communicate and perhaps….even play in other countries? I don’t know about you guys but I would LOVE to see these boys live! Keep sending them mail and who knows, maybe they will come over?!

Random but, POITRINE’s looks get more and more odd each day, especially Denu’s! O~O!

An event and a new band.

an-event-and-a-new-band

This is kind of old news, but what the heck.

ポワトリン (Poitrine), メロ (MELLO) and 姫苺 (Hime Ichigo) are having a three man new year “Summit” commemoration live next week, on January 31st.

There are just a few tickets remaining, and they’ve even added a few extras. So if you’re planning on going, you better get your tickets soon! Haha, on visunavi it says that this is a event that won’t happen again, so it’s a premium event. It’s a three band drama… come be an eye-witness!

Cute promotion.

Anyways, the live is at Shinjuku ASTRO Hall, opens at 5:00 starts at 5:45 and costs 3000 yen. 3500 yen if you decide to buy your ticket the day of the live (providing it doesn’t sell out before then).

Also, there will be another band playing that night, ヱビスⅢ世 (Ebisu the third). They’re a band from Sapporo who formed in Ocotber, 2007. Since their formation they’ve performed once; at Sapporo MESSE Hall (As a demonstration live). So, the live on the 31st will mark the beginning of their activity.

ebisu.jpg

The members are:
Vocals – 鬼脳 (Kino)
Guitar – 哲。 (Tetsu)
Guitar – 紗斗 (Sato)
Bass – 惷太 (Shunta)
Drums – 正 (Tadashi)

So there’s some news for you and a new band. I thnk ヱビスⅢ世 (Ebisu the third) look pretty good, but I’m anxious to hear what they sound like. But really, with a name like that how can you not be cool?
