Plastic Tree have announced that they’ll be releasing a new Live&Document DVD on October 27th!

The DVD will be entitled 「Ch.P」and will include following footage:

・ Recording of 「ムーンライト ————。」(Moonlight)
・ Live & rehersal footage from the tour called 「Strange Fruits-奇妙な果実-」(Strange Fruits-Kimyou na Kajitsu-), which was held in May and commemorated the band’s 15th anniversary
・ Live & rehersal footage from their live 「テント ②」, which took place on August 13th at Nippon Budoukan

As a bonus, if you purchase the release, you will get an original Plastic Tree T-shirt. The DVD costs 10.000 yen and if you’re interested, don’t forget to pre-order it!

Sakurai Ao + Sharaku + Sasabuchi Hiroshi form a new band

This is in my opinion one of the best news in a while! There is a new band, which will consist of 3 amazing angura kei musicians:

Vocal: シャラク (Sharaku) || ex. メトロノム (Metronome), now in FLOPPY
Guitar: 桜井青 (Sakurai Ao) || ex. cali≠gari, now in LAB. THE BASEMENT
Drums: ササブチヒロシ (Sasabuchi Hiroshi) || ex. Plastic Tree

The band’s name isn’t decided yet, but I believe it will be announced at their first live on June 26th at Shinjuku LOFT. The tickets cost 4000 yen in advance and 4500 yen at the door.

Find MUCC on “MUCC’s Day” & be in their PV

Lots of exciting news for MUCC!

MUCC will be releasing their new single as we mentioned both here and here on the 9th June, which also happens to be *”MUCC’S Day”!
[*The number 6 is "roku" in Japanese but can also be read as "mu", and as the number 9 is "kyuu" it can be shortened to "ku" to be read as "69" = "mu ku" i.e. "Mukku".]
Along with their single release on this special day, the band will be holding an event 『ムックを捜せ！』 (Find MUCC!), where fans can search for MUCC both at the event in Shibuya and virtually.
To take part, all fans must purchase the First Press edition of the single 『約束』 (yakusoku), which will enclose a an I.D. card with a number/code that they will need. They then access the “MUCC Day” website either through their mobile/cell phones or through their computer. There are then 3 methods in which fans can participate:

01. Find MUCC in “real time”
This event in Shibuya will take place on the 9th June, starting at 6pm and ending at 9pm, where fans search for MUCC and find stamps to stamp on their sheet.
02. Find MUCC “virtually”
Using your PIGGS (avatars) on Ameba blogs, you can find the MUCC member’s PIGGs in the virtual Shibuya in the Ameba world and collect their special “keywords”.
03. “Reccommend” MUCC
With each member now part of Twitter as we mentioned here, if you send them a “nice” (interesting, funny) comment you could be chosen!

Those who participate and apply will be entered into a lottery where they could recieive an invitation to take part in the shooting of their new PV on 12th June! It will be at ‘Palette Town’ in Odaiba, where the lucky chosen fans can go see a free gig which will be used in the music video.

Whilst not forgetting the band’s autumn tour as we mentioned here, they are busy taking part in 3 more upcoming events;

These are certainly amazing news for Plastic Tree fans! They will be releasing their 29th single and holding a oneman for the 3rd time at Nippon Budoukan to commemorate the release.

The new single will be entitled 「ムーンライト———。」 (Moonlight) and go on sale on the 28th of July in 3 types: two limited ones for 1575 yen each and a regular type for 1260 yen.

An interview with the vocalist Ryutaro from the band Plastic Tree, on the show ‘Hotwave’. I’m afraid I’m not sure what year this interview is, but I think it’s a little old. If anyone could fill me in with that I’d be grateful
In this clip, Ryutaro talks about the band’s recent activities at the time, his dislike for summer, as well as the male presenter’s obsession with Ryutaro’s appearance! To be honest there may not be that much content within the interview itself, but I think we get a better idea of Ryutaro’s reserved, but sweet character.

SCREW’s new member and news

SCREW has announced the newest addition to their line-up!
Their new bassist is ルイ (Rui), who was formerly in various bands such as Gimmick, Garnet, Mudgett, juliadoll and Jewel. He became an official member at their live today; February 9th.

Along with their new member, SCREW will be holding a two consecutive month release campaign!
The first single will come out on May 12th and is titled 「Cursed Hurricane」 and the next will be out on June 9th, and titled 「ANCIENT RAIN」.

Details on both releases will be available at a later date.

SCREW will also be very busy in both April and May as they participate in the Shinrabanshow tour ’10 #2, which you can find more about here.

Along with the tour, they’ll be performing in the SHOXX 20 year anniversary celebrate, SHOCK WAVE 2010, with Alice Nine, LM.C, MUCC and Plastic Tree that takes place on April 29th at JCB Hall. Tickets for the show cost 5500 yen a piece.

Plastic Tree’s new album and PV collection

Plastic Tree will be releasing not only a new album, but a PV collection on December 23rd!

The album, which is yet to be titled, will come out in two types. The first press edition is 3800 yen, and will come with a DVD that contains footage from their outdoor performance on June 10th at Yoyogi Park. The regular edition is 3000 yen, and includes a bonus track.

Their PV collection is tentatively titled 「ゲシュタルト崩壊DVD」 (Gestalt Houkai DVD), and will cost 5250 yen. The PVs included on the DVD will be:

Most of the clips in Plastic Tree’s DVD ‘Kuro Tento” was actually picked out by Ryutaro when he was in the hospital ward. Because the curfew was early, he actually watched all of them in the dark.

Tokyo Underground: Level 16

A three-man live called 「東京地下室〜地下十六階〜」(Tokyo Chikashitsu~Chika juuroku-kai~; Tokyo Underground~Underground 16th level~) will be held on November 18th at Zepp Tokyo! The three performing will be MUCC, Plastic Tree, and cali≠gari. Atendees who present their ticket will receive a free commemorative towel and sticker set.

Sub acts include: Onan Spelmermaid / Anemone / Hibiko / Romi

Tickets will cost 1,0000 yen if booked in advance and 2,100 yen if bought on that day.

Ryutaro of Plastic Tree has such an unique sense of style. Not only with his music and vocals but also with his visuals. Who are some of his influences? The Smiths and THE CURE! Some how this doesn’t surprise me!

I wish just once a native BIG band would say “Oh (insert japanese band name here) is my biggest influence.” Wouldn’t that be cool?!

At their 「TENT」 concert on August 30th, Plastic Tree announced a few things to look forward to.

First, is on October 28th they will be releasing their 28th single, called 「サナトリウム」 (Sanatorium). The single contains four tracks, but is coming out in three types.
The tracklist is:

Their second piece of news was that on November 29th, they will be releasing a live DVD featuring footage of their 「TENT」 performance at Budoukan.

And last but not least, not only will they be having a winter tour, but on December 27th and 28th the band will be having a two day event at C.C. Lemon Hall.

Well, talk about a blast from the past!

On October 17th, SWEET-HEART RECORD is releasing two live DVDs featuring footage from SWEET TRANCE 2001 and 2002.

Both DVDs cost 5980 yen, contain two discs plus a hearty setlist, as well as interviews with the bands:

Have you noticed that Plastic Tree use a kind of circus theme with some of their stuff?

“Circuses, playhouses and shows in traditional Japanese festivals, clearly remain in my mind from when I was a child. When I write lyrics, I go to those memories sometimes, and when I bring them to our band, they work well.” – Ryutaro

Such a unique theme….but circuses scare me, especially clowns! EEEEP!

New best-of for Plastic Tree

The Plastic Tree will launch a new collection called Gestalt houkai on August 26 which will show the evolution in the sound of the group since the release of compilations and Shiro Kuro-ban-ban in 2005.

Few details have been announced so far on the tracklist, but it is known that the regular edition includes two bonus tracks and the CD + DVD edition will have live footage.
