    O-PARTS is a two-man unit that started in June of 2009, formed by vocalist sho-ka (ex. Vogus Image) and bassist Jun (GaGaaalinG, ex. WAIVE). Although we have already talked about the new DVD that Phantasmagoria would be releasing on June 23rd, the releases aren’t finished!

On June 16th, the band will be releasing their single 「actuality」, which was originally available for sale only at lives. The single has two types; a ype A which comes with a DVD for 3150 yen, and a type B which is 2100 yen and comes with a bonus track.

On the same day, they will also be releasing the photo collection that comes complete with a live CD, which again, was available only at lives beforehand. The pamphlet is a reissuing of what SHOXX produced in 2008, and comes with a three track live CD for 3150 yen.

The releases aren’t all that are happening!
The band is also selling the actual costumes that they wore on stage via a silent auction organized through the UCP OHP.

Licensed by ID JAPAN, they are accepting e-mails from fans who wish to bid on the costumes. The lowest amount you can bid is 5000 yen, and only in increments of 1000 yen. The person who sends in the highest bidding price will win the costumes. You only get one shot to send in your price, so you won’t know how much others are offering. Also written on the OHP is that these costumes are great for of course fans, but can also be used by people in bands.

They do mention that as these costumes are the real deal, they may have some damage from wear. They also will not accept any returns and will not be making any compensations on the costumes.

They’re selling three sets of costumes in three stages. For the first set, they are taking bids from now until May 30th. Dates for the next two will be announced later. (Click on the photos to enlarge).

Phantasmagoria will be releasing a DVD on June 23rd called 「Diamond Dust in Truth」!

The DVD will cost 6300 yen and contain 90 minutes worth of footage from the band’s last live that took place on April 5th at Osaka BIG CAT.

Also included will be a 16 page booklet.

Karen reviving for one day

It seems that another band will be reviving even for just one day in the near future! This time it’s カレン (Karen), who disbanded in 2006. However, they already have had a pair of one-day revivals live in last few years. Before I give you details about the live, let me remind you about who was in the band:

Vocals: 直 (Nao) || → hannah, JILL CHRIST
Guitar: えりぜ (Erize) || → kelli
Guitar: 雪希 (Setsuki) || → 176BIZ → the Riotts.
Bass: Takaya || → hannah, JILL CHRIST → Dlocy
Drums: 旬奈 (Shunna) || → Dali

So coming back to the live. It will take place on the 31st of August at Umeda SHANGRILA. Actually, it will be an event organised by Visunavi and UNDER CODE PRODUCTIONS entitled 「SUMMER MASQUERADE 2010」, which will also be “Phantasmagoria MEMORIAL TRIBUTE NIGHT”. There are no many details as for what bands will be participating; although so far there is information only about カレン (Karen) and 凛 (Lin).

Details about KISAKI’s new band 凛 (Rin) have been announced today, few hours after the Phantasmagoria’s last live. Let me introduce the members first:

Vocals: RIKU || ex. KAWON → HISKAREA → Phantasmagoria → chariots
Guitar: MIZUKI || ex. ミサルカ (Misaruka)
Guitar: KANATA || ex. Mebius → ルフィー嬋命 (Ruephy Alive)→ Pashya → chariots [previously known as 秋都 (Akito)]
Bass: KISAKI || ex. La:Sadie’s → MIRAGE → Syndrome → Phantasmagoria
Drums: REIYA || ex. Pashya → chariots

They are already planning to release few CDs though! We’ve already talked about the mail-order premium CD entitled 「凛」 (Rin). It seems though that they’ll also participate in an omnibus called 「NEO VOLTAGE」, which we already talked about some time ago. What is even more important, however, is the fact, that the song which will never be included on any other CD.

However, the band is going to release their first maxi single on the 2nd of June! It will be entitled 「As If Forever Exists.」 and come in 3 types: a limited one for 2100 yen and two regular types for 1670 yen each. What is more, you will get one trading card chosen randomly from 12 types with every CD.

The band has set a MySpace, so make sure to follow them; the link to their OHP is located here though.

They will update their OHP/MySpace with any additional dates for the tour or instore events and we’ll surely let you know if that happens.

Did you know that when Phantasmagoria formed, they appeared on the cover of Cure shortly after? It was almost a month after their birth and they already caused so much attention. They were one of the fastest rising bands on the cover!

At the beginning of the year, we talked about Phantasmagoria’s new release, 「Diamond Dust」, that’s coming out on March 10th.

Well, to go along with the release, the band is planning a maxi single commemoration 60 minutes limited premium live!

The live is called 「Diamond Dust in Truth ～新たな約束～」 (Arata na Yakusoku; A Fresh Promise) and it’ll take place on April 5th at Osaka BIG CAT.

Tickets, surprisingly only cost 1500 yen. They are on sale now via the UCP mobile site until January 31st, and general ticket sales begin on February 6th.

Phantasmagoria’s 2 new releases

Well, it seems that Phantasmagoria are active again! They’ve just announced the release of 2 new CDs!

The first one is 「Seeds of Brain」, which is a “RARE TRACKS MINI ALBUM”. Apparently, the band has recorded some songs in 2006~2007 which have never been released so far, and they’ll be featured on that mini-album. It will be released on the 10th of March and cost 2100 yen. The tracklist is:

03. Desperate Resolution for my Soul..
04. My Mental State… (A new recording / bonus track by KISAKI + Riku)

The second release is a new single entitled 「Diamond Dust」 which will also be released on the 10th of March, this time for 2625 yen though. It seems that before the decision about stopping their activites, Phantasmagoria was planning to go major and the major debut single was supposed to be 「神歌」. 「Diamond Dust」 is a coupling track which was going to be featured on that single. The single’s tracklist is as follows:

02. Diamond Dust (Instrumental)

It will also feauture a bonus DVD with a 30-minutes-long footage from 首都制圧 (Shitto Seiatsu)

Back in October, we talked about Phantasmagoria being the specail countdown guest at the UCP new year’s live.

Well, their revival activities aren’t stopping there! The band will be performing in two more events in 2010:

When Phantasmagoria was around fans would call the band “Mago” for short, which means “grandchildren”. Its said that Vidoll’s bassist – Rame gave the band the enduring title and fans caught on.

How funny yet cute. Any other cute names bands are called by fans?

Just in case they hadn’t released enough, Phantasmagoria is putting out a special DVD box set called 「HISTORY OF Phantasmagoria 2004 ~ 2008」. It’s a four disc collection for 16000 yen.

Now before we get into all the messy details, I want you to take a close look at the photo that Kisaki posted with it in his journal. Both of them (he had the first one orignally and when I went back today to double check everything, he’d change the photo…).

Look reallllly closely.
Do you notice anything weird? I didn’t take a second glance at it, until it was pointed out to me. Then I laughed. It’s like that LSD mix up…

So, what’s in it? Well, there’s a gorgeous 36 page booklet and the disc contents are as follows:

DISC 1: A complete live digest disc. A documentary of all their lives from their formation to their final performance.

DISC 2 & 3: PICK UP Live Disc
All of Phantasmagoria’s songs from their turning point live to pick up lives.

DISC 4: 2008 Revival Live Disc
A compilation of their performances from when they lived the seal on May 3rd, until their disbanding live on August 31st.

Phantasmagoria is releasing a new DVD which contains the footage from their disbanding live that took place at SHIBUYA-AX on August 31st. The catch is that it’s available only by mail order.

The DVD is called “forbidden -INSANITY of the UNDERWORLD-” and the first press edition contains two disc. Disc one is the footage from the performance, and disc two contains the following:

1. Phantasmagoria – One Day Revival Anniversary feat. Riku & Matoi at 2008.2.14 OSAKA MUSE
2. KISAKI BIRTHDAY EVENT 「主役のいない記念祭」  (Shuyaku no Inai Kinensai) at 2008.3.09 HOLIDAY OSAKA

The price strings a little at 11550 yen, but it would be a great addition to any fan’s collection.

Today’s random fact was sent in by Katie, thanks! I think quoting her email speaks for itself.

I was lucky enough to attend Phantasmagoria’s live last year on August 25th at Kobe Star Club. During their MC, they told us that Jun used to work at the Star Club when he was a teenager (in fact, his login information is still in the computer system there). But it was also revealed that he spent most of his time there in the front office, asleep.

I wish I could spend most of my time sleeping. The girls at ST will not allow this, I am a slave for life. Someone should start the ‘Free Ernie’ foundation.

Phantasmagoria has announced a free live on August 2nd starting at 1:00 at Osaka’s American Village Sankaku Kouen (Triangle Park).

There are no numbered tickets (it’s a free event afterall) and will be cancelled if it rains on that day.
