We told you back in June that Otokage was announced to play at Oni-Con this year! They are set to play this weekend in Galveston Texas but before you catch them live be sure to tune into Babel Radio tonight for a special show. The band will be hosting and talking about what they have planned for you Otokage fans!

Babel Entertainment bought over D and BLOOD STAIN CHILD for A-KON and they did a review of the weekend on their live radio stream and for those lucky listeners they announced another band for Oni-con!
Its Otokage! Along with Lemon Drop Kick and Earthbound Papas. Seems like its going to be an epic weekend in Galveston Texas! Thats right – Oni-con (which is usually hosted in Houston) will be in Galveston Texas on October 28th-30th! Who is going? Otokage are one of the most random and fun groups out there!
Side note – it was my first time in the Babel Chat room – amazing friends were made, catch the next show on Tuesday! Log in and meet great people! \m/

Otokage’s 1st full album & new single

音影 (Otokage) have not only announced that they will be releasing their 4th single, but that come this December, they will be putting out their first full album!
Not many details on the album are available yet, however, it will be available for pre-sale at their oneman live on November 26th at Shibuya O-WEST.
As a preview to the new album, the band will be selling only 500 copies of their 4th single, 「ツクヨミ」 (Tsukuyomi) at lives for 500 yen starting on August 22nd.
The single includes the title track, plus an English version of 「韋駄天無頼」 (Idaten Burai) which was originally released in Japanese on their mini-album, 「曉」 (Akatsuki).

Otokage’s first mini-album

音影 (Otokage) will be releasing their first mini-album on April 28th called 「暁」 (Akatsuki). The release will cost 1575 yen and contain six tracks:
1. 影之軍団 (Kage no Gundan)
2. 傾奇忍者音影 (Kabuki Ninja Otokage)
3. 傳「妖刀残斬血花」 (Ten “Youtou Sanzen Chika)
4. 蒼愛 (Aoe)
5. 韋駄天無頼 (Idaten Burai)
6. 葛藤 (Kattou)
Futhermore, if you go to the band’s OHP you might see that it’s not really there. They have put up a notice explaining that the files for the PC version of their site have been erased, and they were hoping to get the OHP back up and ready by the middle of March.
You can still view the mobile version of the site, however, the PC version is still not available. Hopefully they’ll get something up there soon!

HITT, ex-Otokage, is one of those Jrockers that takes plenty of camera phone pictures for all to see and a few days ago one very interesting one was uploaded to his Myspace photo album.
Looking over some other photos in the album, I noticed something else that made me giggle– while other pictures had 7 or 11 comments, this particular one got 50 comments, after only being recently uploaded.
Also, last week a new song was uploaded to HITT’s blog (its called ‘face‘). You can listen to it here.

Bass player HITT will be leaving Otokage to focus back on his solo career. He just released a full solo album in February 2009 and has been working solo on and off since 2004. His last live with Otokage will be on June 14th at Club GOODMAN.

It turns out that 音影 (Otokage) will be appearing at Tekkoshocon this April! The convention takes place from April 3rd – th at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center and Westin Hotel in Pittsburgh, PA.

Nicholas also mentioned that a flyer being distributed for Tekkoshocon reads at the top “ENJOY the music of TRANS DIMENSIONAL NINJA group [音影] OTOKAGE in their US DEBUT”.

On February 25th 音影 (Otokage) will be releasing their third single! The title will be 【百年夜櫻忍法帖】 (Hyakunen Yoru Sakura Ninboujou) and it contains the title track, a second called “ICE SWORD & FIRE SOUL” plus instrumental versions of each for 1050 yen.

音影 (Otokage) who we introduced back here and who are releasing a new single which marks their first country-wide release have updated their OHP with a PV to get us in the mood!
The PV is for their song 忍法乱舞之術 (Ninbou Fuppu Nojutsu) which is one of the two tracks on the upcoming single, 「忍法乱舞之術/いろは恋歌」 (Ninbou Fuppu Nojutsu / Iroha Koiuta).

The other day I wrote an introduction for the band 音影 (Otokage), and mentioned that they had said their keyboardist Ikumaro would not be able to perform at their live on June 5th.
The band has now updated with a message saying Ikumaro has left the band.
The member have said they’re sorry for the abrupt announcement and that they themselves, from the bottom of their hearts are surprised by the news. They said that about three days ago, they receieved an e-mail saying that Ikumaro was retiring from the band. However, at that time they did not know his true plans, and therefore waited to give the announcement of his official retirement from the band.
They don’t want their fans to think that they’re betraying them, and plan to continue on with their plans as scheduled. They make sure to say the band is not stopping, and that they’ll only accelrate!

What is with these weird ways of leaving bands lately? We have people e-mailing to say they’re quitting now? Sorry, but I think that’s totally lame. We’ve had a few people quit via e-mail where I work, and I think that when you can call and talk to a person for real, it’s seriously the lowest way to go.
Fortunately, it looks like the band has everything under control and I’m glad they’re not letting this get in their way.

音影 (Otokage) will be releasing their very first single this summer!
The title of the single will be 「忍法乱舞之術/いろは恋歌」 (Ninbou Fuppu Nojutsu / Iroha Koiuta) and it’s a two track single coming out on July 17th. Alongside the single, they’re also holding an event the next day, on July 17th at Ikubukuro CYBER. You’ll have to check out their OHP in a few days for further details.
They’ve also announced that their keyboardist Ikumaro will not be able to perform at their live on June 5th.
Anyways, they’re a pretty new band, so I might as well take this oppurtunity to write an introduction for them! For their roles, the members are… a little more detailed than normal. They’re themed around being ninjas, so keep that in mind when you’re reading the title descriptions.
櫻心寺 李維 (Oushinji Lee) is in charge of the singing, dancing, ninjutsu (which is the fighting art of the ninja), weapon arts, introducing battle arts. Other things such as leadership and agitation.
武蔵坊 鬼丸 (Musashibou Onimaru) who plays the six stringed soprano instrument, is wholly in charge of suspicious arts and eletronic war.
鈴村 撃斗 (Suzumura Hitto) plays the four stringed bass instrument.
亀柳院医九麿 (Kiryuuin Ikumaro) who dances, is the sampler and plays keyboard.
Last but not least, is 小日向 奏亮 (Kohinata Sousuke) who is the drummer of the band.
