O-PARTS Ends Activity.

o-parts-ends-activity

O-PARTS will be completing activity on September 5th, making the live at Kichijouji CLUB SEATA their last.

As far as a reason goes, sho-ka has plans to devote himself mainly to his solo work.

Both members mutually agreed to carry on on their separate paths, and rather than disbanding or pausing activities, they’ve decided to say that they have “Completed” Activity. And they hope that from here all of the fans will continue to support them as they continue on their different paths.

Here are the individual messages from the members:

Sorry for always being selfish.

But thank you all for coming to see us.

So on that note, remember us lovingly.

Thanks for everything.

sho-ka

Thank you for always supporting us.

It was only for a short time, but we are very grateful to everyone.

Thank you so much for pouring all of your love into O-PARTS.

Please forgive us for making such a sudden announcement.

We’ve canceled all plans to have lives after September 5th.

It’s because of sho-ka’s wish of perusing his solo career and because I can personally understand his wish.

Although the live on the 5th will be our last, we’ll do it the way we always do with all of our might.

sho-ka who didn’t have any work for a while offered me a chance to take the stage again as O-PARTS, and during the time we worked together I discovered a lot of different things.

So
I respected this new sho-ka’s feelings to want to try hard from the beginning.

Even though the completion of activities as O-PARTS is unfortunate,

The both of us want to continue new musical lives. Your understanding makes me happy.

Interview with O-PARTS

O-PARTS is a two-man unit that started in June of 2009, formed by vocalist sho-ka (ex. Vogus Image) and bassist Jun (GaGaaalinG, ex. WAIVE). On August 20th, they released their first maxi-single entitled 「向日葵」 (Himawari) which included four tracks, all of which made it into the top ten of the Oricon Indies ranking. On May 26th, their second maxi-single, 「煌[kou]」 was released and will be available through JapanFiles from June 6th.

Both sho-ka and Jun took time out of their busy schedules to answer a few questions from Shattered-Tranquility.net. We’d like to thank sho-ka and Jun, as well as JapanFiles for the opportunity for this interview!

If you’re interested in checking out O-PARTS’ music, make sure you head on over to JapanFiles where you can listen to samples and purchase the band’s music.

1. Please introduce yourselves and what part you play in O-PARTS.
sho-ka: I’m sho-ka, and my part is vocals.

Jun: I’m Jun, and I play the bass.

2. What is the origin behind the name O-PARTS?
sho-ka: At the beginning, Jun told me “I want the letter P!” I looked up many things, and I suggested O-PARTS because I thought it fits perfectly to my feelings about my own existence.

Jun: One of the ideas was “POOL” but sho-ka had another idea. So I said, “That’s cool!” and we decided on this.

3. How did you decide to work together?
sho-ka: I was in a band called Vogus Image before, and Jun was in Waive at that time. We were often in the same tour, but we were only acquaintances… Then we were reunited after 4 years, and Jun helped my solo activity. After my solo release, we started O-PARTS last year.

Jun: We promised to work together, but only after having a solo release. Since it’s so hard in many aspects to work alone, I thought it was better to start after those experiences. So we started after the solo release because of our promise.

Introducing O-PARTS

introducing-o-parts

I’ve been meaning to introduce that band here for a long time already and I finally got the reason, when I randomly stumbled upon some great news I couldn’t resist posting.

So, the band members are:

Vocal: sho-ka | ex. Vogus Image as 昇歌 (Shouka)
Bass: Jun | from GaGaalinG, ex. Waive

The great news is the fact that they’ll release a brand-new single on the 26th of May! It will be entitled 「煌[kou]」 and cost 1200 yen. The tracklist is as follows:

01. 煌[kou]
02. Circus
03. 小宇宙 (Shouuchuu)

To commemorate the release, the band will hold 2 instore events as well. Both will take place in Tokyo, and there are no many details given except the dates: 5th and 20th of June.

If you are curious about how O-PARTS sound, check their MySpace for some samples from their previous and only release so far -「向日葵」(Himawari)!
