Lots of exciting news for MUCC!

MUCC will be releasing their new single as we mentioned both here and here on the 9th June, which also happens to be *”MUCC’S Day”!
[*The number 6 is "roku" in Japanese but can also be read as "mu", and as the number 9 is "kyuu" it can be shortened to "ku" to be read as "69" = "mu ku" i.e. "Mukku".]
Along with their single release on this special day, the band will be holding an event 『ムックを捜せ!』 (Find MUCC!), where fans can search for MUCC both at the event in Shibuya and virtually.
To take part, all fans must purchase the First Press edition of the single 『約束』 (yakusoku), which will enclose a an I.D. card with a number/code that they will need. They then access the “MUCC Day” website either through their mobile/cell phones or through their computer. There are then 3 methods in which fans can participate:

01. Find MUCC in “real time”
This event in Shibuya will take place on the 9th June, starting at 6pm and ending at 9pm, where fans search for MUCC and find stamps to stamp on their sheet.
02. Find MUCC “virtually”
Using your PIGGS (avatars) on Ameba blogs, you can find the MUCC member’s PIGGs in the virtual Shibuya in the Ameba world and collect their special “keywords”.
03. “Reccommend” MUCC
With each member now part of Twitter as we mentioned here, if you send them a “nice” (interesting, funny) comment you could be chosen!

Those who participate and apply will be entered into a lottery where they could recieive an invitation to take part in the shooting of their new PV on 12th June! It will be at ‘Palette Town’ in Odaiba, where the lucky chosen fans can go see a free gig which will be used in the music video.

For more information on this amazing event, see their official “MUCC Day” website.

Whilst not forgetting the band’s autumn tour as we mentioned here, they are busy taking part in 3 more upcoming events;
01. 『NEXUS J-ROCK GOES TO THE WORLD』 on the 6th June at the ‘NEXUS STUDIO COAST’ in Tokyo, along with bands 葵 (aoi), LC5, ギルガメッシュ (Gilgamesh) and Plastic Tree. Tickets for first floor standing are now on sale for 5,250yen. To buy them and for more information, see here.
02. 『BARKS LIVE [10th Anniversary Gratitude Festival]』 on the 11th July at the ‘ZEPP TOKYO’, along with J and Pay money To my Pain. Tickets can be specially pre-ordered now but go on sale for everyone on 6th June, with ticket prices to be announced. To buy them and for more information, see here.
03. 『SUMMER SONIC 2010』 on the 8th August. For information on the types of tickets available and to buy them, see the official website.

Anyone going to take part in the “Find MUCC!” event in real time or virtually? I know I may browse virtual Shibuya with my PIGG just to see if I can spot the members!

Its getting HOT! Summer days have already started and this bunny has been suffering! I haven’t been able to venture outside much in fear of being captured but I’m sure I would melt from the heat. You know who else has been feeling the summer heat? Tatsuro of MUCC. He recently engraved this lovely picture in the minds of fans.

Hi, Tatsuro here. These days I’m really into Dragon Quest Monsters Joker 2!

Tokyo has been really warm recently–so warm you can sleep naked! And so that’s what I’m doing, what about all you guys? ;)

The only problem with sleeping naked is if the mailman shows up at your house! ;)

Tatsuro

So what!? I sleep, walk and eat naked every day!!

details-on-muccs-new-single

Thanks to Jinx for the heads up!

As we previously mentioned both here and here, ムック (MUCC) will be releasing a new single called 「約束」 (Yakusoku) on June 9th!

The last times we mentioned them, not many details were available, however, now they are!

The release is coming out in three types – a limited edition, a regular press edition and a special edition that ties into the single being used for the anime, 『閃光のナイトレイド』 (Senkou no NIGHT RAID), (read more it here).

The limited edition costs 1680 yen and contains the single (two tracks; title track plus ‘Unpublished Track 1′), plus a DVD. [PRE-ORDER]

The regular edition is 1260 yen and contains the CD only, but with the title track and ‘Unpublished Track 2′. [PRE-ORDER]

Finally, we have another limited edition for those fans of the anime! This version is 1365 yen and includes three tracks on the single; the title track and tentatively, an instrumental version and the cut used for the opening theme. This type is also specially packaged with a 『閃光のナイトレイド』 (Senkou no NIGHT RAID) theme. [PRE-ORDER]

muccs-new-single-for-anime-opening

MUCC’s new single 『約束』 (yakusoku), which will be released in June as Inka mentioned here, is going to be used as the opening theme for the Anime 『閃光のナイトレイド』 (senkou no NIGHT RAID).

It is said that 『約束』 “holds the views that MUCC has and the views that the Anime portrays which synchronize with each other, and along with the combination of strings [orchestra] it puts across a complex yet obvious message, and is a musical masterpiece.”

The Anime will be aired in April 2010, which gives us a chance to preview MUCC’s single before its release!

mucc-on-music-fighter-interview-2008

MUCC appeared on the Music TV show ‘Music Fighter’ to talk about their past and their recent activities when they were releasing 「アゲハ」, and as I found it a lot of fun and informative for fans I translated it =)
MUCC as members themselves are incredibly funny and witty, however, it also means that I’ve had to add a lot of notes in small-print in order to explain their jokes! I hope you won’t find my annotations too annoying…

Here, they talk about everything from their childhood when they formed silly gangs, their love of soccer, how they never paid their apartment rent and hairdressers.

Enjoy!

[1 of the Presenters on this show is 'Sayaka Aoiki', and as there as specific notes to Aoiki herself I have named her in the interview but kept to "Presenter 1 & 2"  for the other presenters (the Comedian unit 'King Kong') to save confusion]

Presenter 1: Please welcome today’s guests; MUCC!
Presenter 2: The first time we met was quite a while ago, wasn’t it? I was scared of you at first! But now we’ve become acquaintances, haven’t we? (laughter)
Presenter 1: It’s your first time meeting MUCC, isn’t it, Aoiki?
Aoiki: Yes, it’s my first time meeting you, *neeeee? (gets thwacked on the head)
[*Here, Aoiki holds onto the "ne" unnecessarily, in a comically annoying way, and gets hit on the head by the other presenter - a common scene in Japanese comedy. "ne" in this sense means "didn't we?" or " right?"]
Tatsurou: Oh no, we sort of met at the Budoukan -
Aoiki: Ah! At the *L’arc en ciel gig!
[*Aoiki made an appearance in a gig with L'arc en ciel, which MUCC also appeared in]
Tatsurou: But only from far away. We sort of hid away and thought, “She’s so pretty” (laughter)

Have you guys read the manga or seen the anime or movie DMC? Detroit Metal City is a popular manga/anime especially among bands…why? Because its a story of a lonely nerd who dreams of pop stardom only to become a frontman for a visual metal band. Nerd by day, scary demon rock star by night.

Okay okay I am rambling but the fact is actually a tribute soundtrack was released when the OVA and film was released. The album is called Detroit Metal City: Tribute to Krauser II the metal mix. The album had many well known bands and solo acts covering their own songs in a more metal tone. One of these bands were MUCC!! Interesting right?

karasu

カラス (Karasu) is a new neo visual kei “super unit” that has a very interesting composition of musicians!

l_af0ff063ef1f4d10b03fa82c2a02c35d

The line-up for the project is:
Vocals - 逹瑯 (Tatsurou) [from MUCC]
Guitar - ヒロト (Hiroto) [from Alice 9]
Guitar - 美月 (Mizuki) [from Sadie]
Bass - dunch [from jealkb]
Drums - ケンゾ (Kenzo) [from Ayabie]

Originally, the band was meant to only be a one night jam session, organized by the vocalist, Tatsurou. However, they now are like a crow, which has grown and expanded, and is spreading its wings.

They first performed on August 15th at the MAVERICK DC GROUP PRESENTS JACK IN THE BOX 2009 SUMMER live. They played two cover songs, as well as their original number, 「LASTICA」, which you can hear a sample of on their official MySpace.

For three months after their performance, the band has been busy “underwater” recording, and this November have brought 「LASTICA」 back to the scene with their 「LASTICA Studio ver.」. They are adding the finishing touches to the song which is catchy, and has an industrial sound with passionate lyrics, perfectly appropriate for “neo visual kei”.

Is ‘Karasu’ (which means ‘crow’) something that will fly away and disappear? Or, is it something magnificent, willful, that will suddenly and unexpected swoop down on you? From here on, you will not be able to take your eyes away from their activities.

So if you haven’t already, make sure you add them on MySpace to show your support!

You can read their adventures on their official myspace but Miya wrote a funny entry the other night.

…by the way, sometimes I see this kind of equipment at hotels in overseas.
Water runs like this,

water

I still don’t know what this is for.
And you need to care when you turn the faucet on.
Otherwise, water gushes and it reaches ceiling.
Is this for… face wash?
Hmm, I’m in a rotten mood.

Ummmm isn’t that a bidet? Did anyone see MUCC at any of their tour dates?
