Monokuro Kinema disbands

白黒キネマ (Monokuro Kinema) has continued their activities on May 11th after they went on pause a year ago, but only for a limited time. After their oneman concert at Ikebukuro Chop on July 1st the band will disband.
During the pause and working with 「茜」 (Akane) Taketoshi and Shou had many discussions, deciding eventually that this would be a positive conclusion.
Remaining lives are as follows:
May 22th @ Shinsaibashi CLUB ALIVE
June 18th @ Ikebukuro Mescalin Drive
July 1st @ Ikebukuro Chop

Thanks to Zetsubou for the heads up!
白黒キネマ (Monokuro Kinema) have announced not only that their drummer, Tomoharu, has left the band, but also that they are therefore on an activity pause. However, both vocalist Taketoshi and guitarist Shou have teamed up for a to create a new twoman unit called 「茜」 (Akane).
The following announcement was posted on the Monokuro Kinema OHP:
An Important Announcement
Thank you for the continued support of Monokuro Kinema.
Today, we have an important announcement to make.Since our sponsored event on March 15th, the members have had mutiple discussions regarding the future activities of the band. During that time, we realized that a difference in opinion over the music we want to make and the development of the band has developed between the members, and therefore on April 22nd our drummer Ichimura Tomoharu left the band.
Due to his departure, we have decided to put our activities as Monokuro Kinema on hold.
We are sorry for the unexpected announcement.
From here on, both Tajima Taketoshi and Hasegawa Shou are planning to start activies as a new unit called “Akane”.
We will make further announcements as we decide the fine details on our schedule and so forth.
In regard to our new unit, we plan to carry on activities as if Monokuro Kinema was its parent.
We hope that everyone who has been supporting us can find someway to understand, and from the bottom of our heart’s, we hope that you will continue to support us.

I’m truly sorry about the unexpected announcement.For a long time now, I’ve been thinking about the kind of music that I want to make and how I want to express myself, and have come to realize that there are musical differences between myself and Monokuro Kinema.
And even though we’ve made some major changes, I felt that I couldn’t continue on doing activities as things are, and therefore made the decision to leave the band.
I am extremely grateful to the members who understood my situation and to our manager.
To everyone who has been supporting me thus far,
To all of the people connected to the band,
And of course to the members and staff,For everything, I truly thank you.
I will never forget the time I’ve spent as a member of Monokuro Kinema.
I feel extremely grateful.
Thank you so much.If we meet agan somewhere along the line, I hope you’ll support me.

Monokuro Kinema have posted the following announcement on their OHP today:
Thank you for continuously supporting Monokuro Kinema.
We only wanted to announce that in February we will be having a coupling tour that covers Tokyo, Nagoya and Osaka, however, we have important announcement.
Although it’s unexpected, after our performances in February, our guitarist, Shindou Kazuki, will be leaving the band.
This is the result of much discussion between the members, and supports Kazuki’s decision to progress down a new path.
Our coupling tour in February will be the last with the current line-up.
There isn’t a lot of time left with the current members, but Monokuro Kinema will continue to advance ahead, so we hope that you can warmly cheer us on.
Kazuki has also posted his comment regarding his decision:
In the two years that I have been part of Monokuro Kinema, the frame of the band has allowed me to have various experiences and challenges piled upon me, I’ve been able to make music I wanted to make, to express and to convey, and I’ve realized that it’s now time to become disconnected from that frame.
I’ve had this hazy feeling about continuing in the band, which is something that worries me, and with these feelings, I’m sorry to the band members, and to those who have been supporting me, to say that after much thought, I have chosen to leave.
Also, I am grateful to the members for all the experience that they have given me.
There’s only a short amount of time left, but as a member of Monokuro Kinema, I will put all of my power into these remaining lives.Please continue to support Monokuro Kinema.

About a week ago, we told you about 白黒キネマ (Monokuro Kinema) releasing a new mini-album (証明 – Shoumei) on July 29th.
But aside from that great news, the band unfortunatly announced a departure today. On September 17th, after their live at Harajuku Astro Hall, their bassist Takafumi Sakamoto will leave the band. Due to a chronic disease, Takafumi will have to endure a surgical operation that will not allow him to perfom lives before a few years… as a result, Takafumi thought that he had no choice but to leave.
Really sad, isn’t it ? Let’s wish him all the best with this operation ! And hope the band will get a new bassist in the near future…

KYOKUTOU GIRL FRIEND, ヒトツメ (Hitotsume) and 白黒キネマ (Monokuro Kinema) are teaming up for a three man event on July 3rd at Ikebukuro CYBER!
The even is called 【合法サブカルチャー vol.1】 (Gouhou Subculture; Legal Subculture) and it will cost 2900 yen to attend. General ticket sales start May 24th.

白黒キネマ (Monochrome Kinema) is releasing a new single on January 14th called 「代償」 (Daishou) for 1260 yen!
It’s a three track single that contains the title track, a second called 「ｷﾐｶﾞﾀﾒ」 (Kimi ga Dame) and a third titled 「約束」 (Yakusoku). The release also comes with a booklet that contains a collection of photos of the band.

On June 24th they’ll be on the TBS series “学校へ行こうMAX” (Gakkou e Ikou MAX) which will be on TV starting at 7:56pm.

白黒キネマ (Monochrome Kinema) has added two new members to their ranks! So they are now a full fledged five member band!
New to the band is their guitarist 翔 (Syo) who is featured on the left, and drummer 友治 (Tomoharu) who is featured on the right.

白黒キネマ (Monochrome Kinema) will be releasing their first maxi-single for this year on April 23rd! It’s been about a year since their last release which was a full album, so I’m sure a lot of fans are looking forward to hearing something new.
So yes… the CD’s title is not yet decided, but the single will cost 1260 yen. A track list is also not available yet, but when it is posted we’ll update you.

I thought this was pretty new, because I hadn’t heard of it before, but the release date seems really soon for it to actually be decided… well, just recently. But, hey, there’s probably other people who also don’t know, so here we go.
