Miyavi & Gazette calendars

Miyavi and the GazettE both have 2009 official calendars coming out! Reservations for the calendars will start on November 15th from Lawson’s Loppi and they’ll be sent out on December 26th.
Both calendars are A2 in size and seven pages in total for 2625 yen. They each come with a special original photo of the artist or band.

Miyavi minus the piercings

Hello~! I would like to first introduce myself quickly. I am another one of the newest editions to the S-T staff and I’m happy to be here. ^o^
I hope to help as much as I can since I have grown to love this site and have now made new friends through it. <333

In case someone still doesn’t know by now, Miyavi recently took out his body piercings and got his hair cut short again.
Excerpts from the post on his MySpace blog on Oct. 13th:
i just finally cut my fuckin LONG hair. :-p(give it up!!)
and ive bin takin a shower and shampooing 2 or 3 times a day since then. LOL
…
actually i intended to grow my hair long till i didnt need any extensions in my hair to make the NEO-CHO N MAGE (samurai-ish hair style)
but during the world tour,
i was like
“i WILL fuckin cut my annoyin’ hair~~~~~!! ” LOL特にチリ、ブラジルあたりはヤバかった。
軽く発狂しそうになってたもんね。笑especially, when we were touring in South America,
i was seriously irritated n paranoid cuz of my hair.
it got me freaked out after every show !!i almost tried to peel off my scalp from my head like the movie SAW. LMAO
…
and then now, 4AM, i took my pierce off from my cutie lips too. LOL
(ill tell u guys the reason next time. cuz it takes like 4eva~)its kinda weird… but it doesnt look bad though.
i feel like i just wanna show it to the sun n be enveloped by the warm sunlight.
and now, im allowed to wash my face FREELY whenever i want too. yay !!
It is a pretty long blog entry, actually. So, if anyone would like to read it all, click here~! It’s worth checking out if you haven’t already, since it has photos of Miyavi in the process of getting his hair cut and such. ^^
Last night, I saw a new photo on his MySpace blog, as well.
Personally, I will miss his lip ring…. But, even if Miyavi looks a little different, he is still Miyavi, and still an amazing musician. <3

Miyavi’s two newest

Miyavi has two releases coming up; a remix album and DVD!
Both are coming out on December 24th, and the remix album is titled “Room No. 382″. It will contain tracks from both his indie days up until now, and with the help of TeddyLoid Miyavi has remixed the tracks.
The DVD is called “THIS IZ THE ORIGINAL SAMURAI STYLE” and contains footage from his world tour, plus the PV for 「咲き誇る華の様に」 (Sakihokoru Hana no you ni).
The prices for both items will be announced at a later date.

PS COMPANY celebrates 10 years

PS COMPANY will be celebrating their 10th year anniversary come 2009 and to celebrate, they’re holding a “10th anniversary commemorative performance” event!
The event, Peace & Smile Carnival, will take place on January 3rd at Japan’s Budoukan.
The opening guests will be SuG and SCREW (the two bands on PS COMPANY’S indie label) and the other performers will be (of course) Miyavi, Kagrra,, Kra, the GazettE and Alice Nine.
Tickets for the show are 7875 yen (yikes!) and go on sale starting November 22nd. The show will enter at 3:00pm and begin at 4:00pm.
It’s hard to believe they’ve been around for yen years already!

Flashback Friday: Dué le Quartz

Last Friday I did BAISER, and this week Dué le Quartz since they’re in such high demand. Most people have heard the name because of Miyavi, however this band’s members are all pretty awesome.
Dué le Quartz lasted about three years, but managed to go out with a bang and an army of fans. The line-up went like this:

Today, as most of us already know, Miyabi (now MiyaVi) is a successful solo artist and getting ready to tour Europe.
Sakito and Kikasa later went on to work together on a band named [FIGURe;] who lasted 8 month before stopping activity. Kikasa was in Shelly Trip Realize for a bit before [FIGURe;] and is now the representative of TUXEDO PRODUCTIONS record label that has signed bands such as re:Make (disbanded) and SectMa.

Miyavi hits Brazil

Renata sent us a message to let us know that as she read on JaME Brazil, Miyavi would be having a live in Brazil!
MIYAVI IS COMING TO BRAZIL!
He’ll hold a concert here on May 24th!
It will be in Sao Paulo.
The concert will be held in “Hokkaido Association” and the tickets will cost R$50 to R$100(which is like $25 to $50 USD)

An interesting article about vk

On April 1st, an article all about visual kei was posted on the Japanese website, Nikkei TRENDY net. It was a really interesting article and I thought that a lot of fans would be interested in reading it. It’s about visual kei and the progression of the genre throughout the decades.
I think a lot of overseas fans are under the impression that the visual scene is massively popular in Japan, and it’s really not at all. This article shows that, but also talks about the recent boom in interest of visual kei!
It’s long but I think it’s a worthwhile read. And there’s a few pictures.
I’ve translated everything the article had.
Before I get to the article, however, I must say that this may not be posted anywhere else without my permission. No exceptions. Two new DVDs from Miyavi

雅-miyavi- has been up to a lot recently — and there’s more! On May 7th he’ll be releasing two DVDs. The first is called “The Beginning Of NEO VISUALIZM TOUR 2007 - 下克上 -” (Gekokujou), costs 4800 yen and contains footage from his performance on December 25th at Shibuya C.C Lemon Hall.
The second, is currently listed under the tentative title of 「オフィシャル・ブートレッグ・ライヴ・アット・新木場コースト(仮)」 (Official Bootleg Live At Shinkiba Coast). This DVD is listed at 3000 yen, and while it’s described in Japanese as a “switching out video”, it will contain extra footage spanning from his overseas performances in September, as well as his club tour in Japan. It also includes footage from his perormance, guests who made on-stage appearances, other things that happened on stage, plus some photographing for his PV. This DVD is limited in numbers, so if you’re interesting you should definitely pre-order your copy soon!

Miyavi world tour dates

As Yanique wrote in this post, Miyavi announced at his Christmas live that he’ll have a world tour, but back then no specific dates had been announed. Now the dates have finally been published, however; be sure to check him out when he hits up your town, I bet his lives are bound to be loads of fun! No specific information regarding overseas venues and such is available as of yet but I’m sure those too will pop up soon enough.

What’s wrong with this picture?

I know that a lot of our readers here on Shattered Tranquility are also LiveJournal members. Well, have you ever noticed when you go to your friends filter page, there’s an ad on the right hand side… it’s usually for either ring tones or to join IMVU. Recently, mine changed to be ads featuring Dir en grey, 雅-Miyavi- or Dir en grey tribute bands.
It wasn’t until yesterday I actually took a look at them…
So first is this one with 雅-Miyavi-. It looks okay, makes sense right?

雅-miyavi- is back releasing another album entitled “雅-THIS IZ THE JAPANESE KABUKI ROCK” on March 19th. The album will have 11 tracks in total and while it does include new songs, it also includes 「咲き誇る華の様に -Neo Visualizm-」 (Sakihokoru hana no you ni), 「素晴らしきかな、この世界 -WHAT A WONDERFUL WORLD-」, and 「陽の光さえ届かないこの場所で -feat.SUGIZO-」 (Hi no hikari sae todokanai kono basho de). The first press will come with a DVD that contains bonus footage and it will also be an SHM-CD. Which is apparently high quality sound.
First press is 3800 yen and the regular press is 3000 yen.

Kagrra, and Miyavi now officially have profiles on ameba (a popular Japanese blogging community which just seems to keep growing!). Their profiles look a lot like myspace pages, as in they have music, PVs, special movies and photos.

Miyavi World Tour

So during Miyavi’s Christmas live he announced that there is to be a world tour. He’ll be hitting up America, Germany, England, France, Finland, Korea, Taiwan, China, and Japan.
