meth-disbands

meth. has announced that they will be disbanding on September 4th after their oneman performance at Nagoya Music Farm.

The following announcement was posted on the band’s OHP as well as the member’s blogs:

An important announcement from meth.

At this time, we have decided that meth. will disband after our oneman live on September 4th at Nagoya Music Farm.

We have started to notice a gap between things such as our opinions in the future direction of the band, and after numerous meetings between the members and staff, the result we arrived at was to disband.

We are sincerely sorry to the fans that have been cheering us on and to everyone connected with the band that this is how things have turned out.

We will carry out with our currently announced schedule as planned.

Although this is a truly unexpected announcement, until the very end, we plan to completely devote ourself to our performances.

Until then, we hope that together with everyone, we can create the best lives possible, so we please continue to support us.

All the members of meth.

meth.’s last live will be called 「END OF STORY」 and it will take place on September 4th at Nagoya Music Farm. Tickets cost 2500 yen a piece and go on sale starting July 31st.

The members have yet to update either the OHP or their blogs with any comment on the decision.

random-fact-of-the-day

Some people are avid music collectors. They collect CDs, records, and of course, MP3s.

Well, sora from meth. has reached a record on his iTunes! He posted the following journal entry the other day:

soraitunes

At last, my iTunes song count has past 10000!

If all of the data was to be erased… I think that my sliver of life would cease to exist. (Laughs)

I agree. If my Yanni collection ever got lost, I wouldn’t know what to do with my life. I would whole up in a dark corner and wither away… no Yanni, no life.

… think those Britney’s are Britney Spears?

random-fact-of-the-day

It’s time for the Random Fact of the Day! Today’s fact is brought to you by the boys of meth. and what their “My Boom” is. My boom is something that you’re currently totally into or interested in.

So let’s see here.
tomoya, says his my boom is the U.S.A.
sora is into Monster Hunter.
And akito’s is most interesting. Recently he’s into mimicking the YuYu Hakusho character, Younger Toguro.

Here’s a description from Wikipedia:

Younger Toguro is a very muscular demon who takes an interest in Yusuke Urameshi. He constantly feel emptyness within himself, which he attempts to fill with power. He originally is the teammate and lover of Genkai. They participate in Dark Tournament fifty years prior to the series, joining to kill a demon who slaughtered their disciples, and after emerging as victors, Younger Toguro wishes to become a demon. He gains the ability to manipulate his muscles depending on what percentage of power that he uses. When at 100%, he must devour the souls of those nearby to keep his almost indestructible body energized.

Can you picture it? On the left, Toguro… on the right, akito.

Adrienne also wanted me to note that she is having some severe internet problems and therefore the Survivor recap will not be available until later this weekend. We apologize for the delay.

The boys from meth. have updated yet again with another new look! And let me say, I like this one the best so far. sora’s back to black (I didn’t really like his hosty hair) and both tomoya and akito look great!

Anyways, love it. Love the suits. I think this new look really suits them and I totally prefer sora like this than all dressed up in decora and pink like when he was in Ichigo Rock. (As you can tell, I’m a big sora fan).

What does everyone else think? Hot or not?

Posted on June 12, 2008 in Name Change

meth-name-changes

I was on the enter brain site this morning and noticed something a little strange.

The names for the members of meth. were slightly different… so I thought, that’s weird and headed over the the OHP. While there’s no official announcement on there about it yet, except for in the blog, a couple of the boys have decided to change their name.

シキ (Shiki) has changed to akito (陽斗 if you want it in kanji) and キル (Kill) has changed to tomoya.

akito said that when they made changes in the band (Yuya leaving) that he also wanted to change his name. The reason for his change is because he wanted to start using the name his parents gave him. tomoya hasn’t written a reason or anything as to why he changed, but they have got a new blog now up on their OHP.

Sweet sora is the same as ever, and kept his name just as it is — minus the change from kanji (空) to romaji. He should change it to katakana at some point so that it’s been written every different way, haha. I’m glad he didn’t change because I honestly can’t even picture him as anything else.

yuya-leaves-meth

This was definitely horrible news to wake up to.

meth. has announced via their official mail magazine that their bassist Yuya will be leaving the band on June 7th. The reason is that they are having a difference in opinion on the musical direction of the band and they therefore came to the conclusion that he should withdraw.

They apologize to everyone who has been cheering on the band and everyone connected to them. They also mention that they do still plan to continue on with their summer tour and the release of their newest mini-album, so please keep on supporting them.

There’s new news yet on what Yuya will do as far as music is concerned after the 7th, but they do ask that you watch over him warmly.

Source: Official Mailmag

EDIT:  Shiki has updated the meth. blog, so I thought I’d just include a couple of the things he said there. He says that Yuya is NOT leaving due to being on bad terms with the other members, but they feel that they can’t go on being together in the band and still remain friends.

Well, I can sure say I did not see this one coming. Definitely disappointing.

.

.

.

Although, they could have Hijiri, Yamaji or Rai join the band which would make me happy beyond belief. We’ll have to see what happens after the seventh.

meth-s-important-announcement

meth. had an important announcement today at their live!
I was pretty sure it wasn’t anything bad, because all the members were extremely chipper in their journal, but you never know. “Important announcement” always makes you a bit nervous, doesn’t it?

But never fear, it’s great news!
First, they announced another oneman live! It will take place on August 29th at Nagoya HUCK FINN and is called “IT BECOMES B.N.M TOUR FINAL ONEMAN「BRAND NEW B.N.M FINAL」”. The live will cost 2800 yen, open at 6:00 and start half an hour later.

The second piece of news was that on August 6th they’ll be releasing their very first mini-album! The title will be “THE OLD ONE ENDS,IT BECOMES BRAND NEW” and it will cost 1890 yen. It’s a six track album which includes the following songs:
1.NEW ENTRANCE
2.Just Keeping Me
3.HUSK
4.終わりなき闇よ (Owarinaki Yami yo)
5.change of music
6.GOOD BY to MYSELF

Source: OHP

I’m really excited! I love this band and I was disappointed in their last single, “by all means / BELIEVER” so I really hope that this mini-album surpasses that.
