After having released their latest single “BALLAD” last month, lynch. have even more news for us! Announced on the second, they’ll be holding two oneman tours this summer!

lynch.’s New Single, PV

It’s been a little too long since we talked about lynch.! After winding down from a long tour season at the end of last year, they announced the release of their next single, “BALLAD,” on February 20th. The title track will be the ending theme of TV Asahi’s series, “BREAK OUT,” for the month of February.
It’s only a two-track release, containing “BALLAD” and “CRYSTALIZE,” and will only be released in one version. You can preorder it on CDJapan for ￥1050.
Since the single is only coming out in that one version, King Records has uploaded the PV to its official YouTube channel so you can watch it for free instead of buying a special edition of the CD just for that bonus DVD.

I get the distinct impression Nagoya-based lynch. really do not enjoy having downtime. Currently in the midst of their THE FATAL EXPERIENCE tour and having just released their second major album, INFERIORITY COMPLEX, lynch. is already announcing their next tour!
Beginning October 29, lynch. will embark on a brief 7-city tour as a follow-up to their country-wide, 28-night summer tour, THE FATAL EXPERIENCE. This “encore tour” is reminiscent of their back-to-back tours in 2009, THE SHADOW IMPULSE and THE SHADOW IMPULSE encore tour -INFILTRATION-.
Fans who have (or will have) missed out on the original THE FATAL EXPERIENCE dates now have another chance, while those who have already gone are expected to show the uninitiated exactly how it’s done!

Well, if this isn’t a pairing I never thought I’d have the pleasure of seeing! Nonetheless, I’m sure I’m not the only one thrilled to make this announcement:
Metal heavies lynch. and costumed crazies 宇宙戦隊NOIZ are set to perform on the same stage in September! lynch. will take a brief detour from their oneman tour, THE FATAL EXPERIENCE, to participate in a one-night-only twoman live with 宇宙戦隊NOIZ, who will be fresh off the heels of playing with SEX-ANDROID, DEATHGAZE, 花少年バディーズ and more on the ART POP ENTERTAINMENT PRESENTS CRUSH OF MODE-2012-EXTRA EDITION tour, which itself is chasing the tail of 宇宙戦隊NOIZ’s own oneman tour, JAPAN TOY’S PANIC TOUR KING OF ONEMAN SHOW2012「HIGH☆FIVE」, which takes the band through July.
Both lynch. and 宇宙戦隊NOIZ are spending the entire summer touring to promote their respective new releases – lynch.’s 2nd major album, INFERIORITY COMPLEX, released June 27, and 宇宙戦隊NOIZ’s five-track mini-album HIGH FIVE, released May 2. Some lynch. Media and Trivia to Commemorate the INFERIORITY COMPLEX Release

My copy of INFERIORITY COMPLEX, lynch.‘s second major album, arrived today (looks like paying out the eyes for FedEx was worthwhile!) and while waiting for my sluggish compy to rip the tracks, I busied myself with the CD jacket, FC blog, and some magazines to bring S-T.net readers a little bit of trivia.
Before I dive into that, there are still a good number of first press copies of INFERIORITY COMPLEX available on CDJapan, so grab ‘em while they’re hot! Alternatively, if you’re not sure you’re ready shell out for a full album yet, CDJapan is offering the MIRRORS single at a nice discount, so you can consider it a test drive.
Now let’s get started on that trivia!
- The first thing that jumped out at me was the long-forgotten PARENTAL ADVISORY sticker pasted on the plastic wrap of the INFERIORITY COMPLEX album. Now, lynch.’s lyrics have always been rather explicit, making subtle and not so subtle allusions to darker topics (hello, Ambivalent Ideal?), dropping oddly placed f-bombs like it’s the only English word Hazuki knows, but this is the first of their releases to carry the sticker, and the reasoning is unclear. There is no nudity nor violence nor gore nor anything terribly suggestive of such in the coupled PVs, either.
- Moving on, forgive me if I missed the announcement because this seems like a capital-B Big Deal, but did you know that INORAN, of LUNA SEA and solo act fame, contributed some guitars to the track EXPERIENCE? And speaking of INORAN, his new album, Dive youth, Sonik dive, drops the same day as lynch.’s INFERIORITY COMPLEX – June 27! (That’s today or tomorrow, depending on your time zone!)
- Next, that slithery serpent binding vocalist Hazuki’s wrists and arms on the covers? According to drummer Asanao’s blog, the snake’s name is Paul.
- Also according to Asanao’s blog (and bassist Akinori’s Twitter), it looks like the band is making a transition to a “high tech kind of band,” which requires the previously uninitiated members to transition over to Mac hardware and OS. Not entirely sure why the entire band has to make the switch, but maybe they got a group discount?
- On the note of PVs, you’re surely well aware by now that the limited edition of INFERIORITY COMPLEX comes with two videos: one of the title track, INFERIORITY COMPLEX, and one of FROZEN, which is embedded in this post. But did you know that there’s a third promotional video for the song A FLARE, which is the theme for SEVENCORE, a fantasy-themed MMORPG. You can view the A FLARE PV here or on the King Records YouTube channel. And, get this, if you Like SEVENCORE’s official Facebook page and leave a comment supporting lynch. and SEVENCORE, OR if you follow @lynch_staff and @sevencore_JP and tweet a message with tag #lynch_セブンコア you just might win a free copy of the album!
- And finally, you surely remember that MERRY and lynch. had a coupling tour at the beginning of this year, but have you had a chance to check out this recent video on MERRY’s official YouTube channel, of MERRY drummer NERO and lynch.’s Asanao going head to head in a friendly drum battle? It’s not the most brutal of battles, but it’s a good watch!
Incidentally, my months-old copy of ROCK AND READ eyes, spring 2012 edition, shipped together with the INFERIORITY COMPLEX album. The topic of the brief closing interview with lynch. guitarist Reo and vocalist Hazuki is, almost exclusively, makeup – and, specifically, lynch.’s inconsistent, love-hate relationship with it. The interview opens with a revelation that, while the band is not denying their visual roots, their direction was always a “heretical” one in that regard, where they emphasized masculinity and a suppression of individuality so that no one member overshadowed the others. The members go on to explain that their motivation, even with regards to costume, is lighthearted but nonetheless deliberate. Perhaps most interesting is Reo’s admission that he sees early lynch. as identifying with British new-wave, with their use of makeup as a connection between the artist and the music rather than merely a tool to beautify.

And if you aren’t already following the band, Asanao, Akinori, and Reo are all tweeting, plus there are the official lynch. Staff Twitter and the official lynch. Goods Twitter (which has some cool screenprinting photos if you look back a few months!). Guitarist Yusuke does not appear involved with Twitter, at least not publicly, and Hazuki is suddenly completely MIA from the Internet, though he was active as recently as the beginning of this month. I admit I don’t use the Tweeter (back in my day, we blogged with as many characters as it took! Now get of my lawn!) so maybe a better fan than I knows what’s up.

An announcement was just posted today that the release lynch.’s June album, “INFERIORITY COMPLEX“, will be postponed until June 27th. As a result, instore events scheduled for the release of the CD have also been cancelled (for the time being, at least). The band cites “production reasons” for the delay, but at the present time it sounds as though the album will be released as-planned, just at this later date.

lynch. Uploads PV, Samples of All Songs on New Album, “INFERIORITY COMPLEX”

Just under two weeks ago, we brought you details and a track listing of lynch.‘s summer album, INFERIORITY COMPLEX, slated for a June 6th release. Well, if anybody is still waffling on whether or not to go on and order that already, lynch. has graciously uploaded samples of every track on their official home page, along with teensy little thumbnails of the covers of the two different versions.
As Ku had speculated, MIRRORS-we’re not alone- does, indeed, appear to be a rerecording of MIRRORS, the title track of their single from November of last year, but the remaining tracks are all brand-spankin’-new and reflect lynch.’s distinct, easily recognizable style (especially THE FATAL HOUR HAS COME), while showing a progress into numerous other genres, like the beginnings of post-alt progressive metal (NEW PSYCHO PARALYZE), jazzy (post?) hardcore (ANIMA), and radio-friendly alternative rock (A FLARE). I don’t even know how to classify the twangy, funky core of EXPERIENCE but the title sure is apt! I can tell by the samples alone, this is sure to be a controversial album among fans.
If you didn’t catch it already, the band has also updated their main page to reflect this period’s interpretation of the low-key leather look (which is quite reminiscent of… their recent string of low-key leather looks). But perhaps most exciting is that they have uploaded a PV of their new song INFERIORITY COMPLEX, a return to their standard of a fast-paced, scream-heavy foundation and a catchy, layered melodic chorus. This is only the first of two PVs that will come with the INFERIORITY COMPLEX album, the second of which being for the track FROZEN, the June 2012 ending theme of TV Tokyo’s JAPAN COUNTDOWN.
While you wait for the album to drop, kill some time, please your ears, and up that view count on the INFERIORITY COMPLEX video. And make sure you leave a thumbs-up or two.

It’s been no secret that lynch. has been preparing for a new album this summer, but up until now the only information available was the June 6th release date — about a year since their last full album. Details have finally been released on “INFERIORITY COMPLEX”. Ten tracks will grace the release, including “MIRRORS -we’re not alone-”, which we can only speculate to be a variation on the previously-released “MIRRORS”.

Fresh off the heels of their March 3rd oneman at ZEPP TOKYO, lynch. continues going strong with news that they will release a new full-length original album on June 6th and will embark on a 30-stop tour beginning in July! The band’s last original release was the MIRRORS single in November of last year, and the interim has seen them touring furiously and nearly non-stop.
While we wait for more specifics of both the album and tour, we’re also excited to announce that drummer Asanao and bassist Akinori will be appearing as on-air personalities for BellJamRadio through the month of March, which you can listen to live with the Android “ListenRadio” app or catch on USTREAM. For ListenRadio users, broadcasts will air every Tuesday in March beginning at 9:00pm Japan time and will re-air for the following week at 9:00pm each night (6:00pm on Monday). To catch the broadcast on USTREAM, you’ll have to hold out until Friday, with the start time tentatively scheduled between 9:00pm and 9:30pm.
Android users – the first broadcast is March 6th!
Here’s a fun fact: lynch. is no stranger to radio, as Hazuki was the host of his own program “Owari Nagoya wa Ore de Motsu” through 2009 and the band regularly featured friendly bands and other musical industry guests on their own “Radio Stars” show.

Have you checked lynch.‘s homepage lately? In anticipation of their February 8th DVD release of last fall’s “THE BELIEF IN MYSELF” TOUR’s September 4th final, 〜il inferno〜, at AKASAKA BLITZ, they’ve uploaded a preview: a clip of the full performance of “I BELIEVE IN ME.” I’d ordered my DVD so long ago that I’d managed to forget it was coming out this week, but now I can’t wait for it to arrive!
Things have been busy, busy, busy on the lynch. front as the band has been concentrating on touring heavily through the winter and into the spring, with January and February taken up by the FREAKS ADDICT coupling tour with MERRY and March seeing not only a oneman at Zepp Tokyo but also an event live with the recently resurrected cali≠gari and powerhouse MUCC in a revival of the eroguro underground of the late 90s, early 2000s.
You’ll have to stay tuned to see what this up-and-comer has up-and-coming. In the meantime, check out their schedule as it stands, and be sure to snag your copy of their live DVD while supplies last:

lynch.’s Air & Bus Tour

lynch. made a couple of announcements at their tour final on December 30th at Shibuya AX that made fans go wild with excitement. First, Hazuki announced they’ll be playing a one man at a venue at which he’s always wanted to play: ZEPP Tokyo. This is big news for lynch. fans, but it gets better. The band will be offering Air & Bus tour packages to bring fans along, VIP style.
Fans can buy tickets on limited-seating buses (and in a couple of cases, planes!) to travel to ZEPP for the show on March 3, 2012. For fans with the bus option, along they way they’ll be able to buy tour goods, have access to rare goods not available at the show, and watch lynch. DVDs to their hearts’ content on the trip.
Package options are as follows:
Bus Tour
A: Depart/Arrive in Nagoya (3/3/2012 – 3/4/2012)
B: Depart/Arrive in Shin Osaka (3/3/2012 – 3/4/2012)
C: Depart/Arrive in Sendai (3/3/2012 – 3/4/2012)
D: Depart/Arrive in Okayama (3/2/2012 – 3/4/2012)
E: Depart/Arrive in Hiroshima (3/2/2012 – 3/4/2012)
Air Tour
F: Depart/Arrive in Sapporo (3/3/2012 – 3/4/2012)
G: Depart/Arrive in Fukuoka (3/3/2012 – 3/4/2012)
Buses are limited to 40 people and cost between ￥14,100 and ￥18,400 yen for the round-trip experience.
Planes are limited to 30 people and cost between ￥41,300 and ￥44,300 for round trip. Air tour participants will not have access to goods or DVDs on the flight, but will have lodging provided for the night they’ll spend in Tokyo.
Concert tickets are not included with the tour package.

Well, if this isn’t a dream come true…
Early next year, lynch. is embarking on a two-man tour with none other than MERRY. Supposedly, negotiations took place over a phone call between MERRY’s spasmodic vocalist GARA and lynch.’s stoic guitarist Reo.

lynch. and MERRY are prooooobably my two favorite bands, and while they’ve performed together at events, I somehow hadn’t expected them to tour together. S-T.net readers, what are your thoughts? Anybody have plans to go to any of these dates?

King Records has uploaded some behind the scenes footage of lynch.‘s 5-city simulcast “vision jack” performance of MIRRORS on the evening of the single’s November 9th release date. From the looks of it, the members were extremely focused – and all that concentration certainly paid off in a phenomenal one-of-a-kind live performance.
(If you missed it, a fan recorded and graciously uploaded the view from Shinjuku’s STUDIO ALTA. Good to see they drew a hell of a crowd in Shinjuku!)
Fun fact! See those trucks driving around in front of ALTA from about ~5:45 in the DOCUMENT video? King Records hired three of them to promote and blast lynch.’s new single for the week of the release, which is a fairly common promotion tactic in Japan… But rumor has it that even AKB48, one of King Records’ most popular artists, had only two such trucks to promote their recent single(s).
Oh, if you’re wondering (because I certainly was), yes, it does appear that Hazuki has a new tattoo on his neck. According to some observant fans over at marginal_works, it says “UNTIL I DIE.”

Interesting juxtaposition: lynch.’s steely, monochromatic visages rising just above an advertisement for a new Johnny’s Entertainment endeavor called “Sexy Zone.” …
