Its always great when someone meets their hero. Today’s fact comes from BAN of Lolita 23q, when he met someone he holds a great deal of respect for.
“[...]that I got to meet Trevor Brown. I saw him recently, just last year. His art was in a show, and he happened to be there. It was so amazing to meet him! I love his work– it’s beautiful and grotesque, sweetand poisonous. I even have one of his pictures glued to my bass drum! I could get along with anyone who likes Trevor Brown’s stuff.”
I would like to meet Yanni! His music speaks to my inner soul!

M.cry’s support member changes

M.cry, who recently lost their guitarist Asato, announced that their support guitarist Sachi has also left the band due to not being able to take part in their activities as well as before.
However, Zakuro formerly of Ren has taken Sachi’s place as M.cry’s support guitarist, and at their next live they will be a four-piece band consisting of Kou on vocals, Zakuro on guitar, Yuki on bass and Ryou on drums.
The band asks everyone to continue supporting them as well as Sachi from now on too.
On another note, Sachi has recently started as a roadie for Lolita 23q, so let’s wish him luck with that!

I’m really glad that M.cry is still continuing, even though they’ve now had two different guitarists despite their being only a few months old as a band. Let’s hope they’ll develop into something bigger eventually!
EDIT: Actually, I just checked Sachi’s OHP and mixi and he no longer has anything up about his being Lolita23q’s roadie, even though he just started it a while ago… So I’m not sure if he’s their roadie anymore.

Over the Edge 2008

This new years eve D’espairsRay, Vidoll, 12012, Girugamesh, heidi., Kαin, LM.C, Merry, Mix Speaker’s, Inc., MUCC, Plastic Tree, Sadie, Lolita 23q and the studs will all be playing together at C.C. Lemon Hall!
The name of the live is Over the Edge 2008 and tickets will cost 12,000 yen. (Roughly $120.00) Tickets will go on regular sale November 15th. The bands will be doing a special “New Years Gift” session band as well.
This sound like a lot of fun! I wish I was able to go!!

Its that time again, time for the random fact of the day. You know, one of the best features around. Why is that? Its all about me, Big Ern. Today we are going to talk about secrets. Everyone has a secret or two, right? Some of them are more serious than others. BAN from Lolita 23q has a secret of is own. See for yourself…
BAN: My secret is, I sit when I take a shower.
Everyone: What?!
BAN: From a long time ago, I got into the habit of sitting, and even now I haven’t grown out of it (Laughs)
Okay ST readers….do you sit down to shower?? Seriously, I can’t imagine it. Every time I try I just get the mental image of someone curled up in the bottom of a tub crying all emo like was water cascades off their body.

Lolita 23q’s two month consecutive

Lolita 23q has announced that they’ll be having a two month consecutive release! It’s more than half a year since their last release and they say that these two new CDs will be tearing through the silence!
The first single is set to come out on November 5th and is called 「ガリズム-garizm-」. It’s a three track single that costs 1575 yen:

2. BOYS＆GIRLS
3. カラフル夜空 (Colourful Yozora)
Their second will be released on December 3rd, entitled 「CERAMIC★STAR」. It’s another three track single for 1575 yen:

the studs three new singles and tour

In the first fifteen days of October, the studs have announced that they’ll be releasing three different singles! The first is called 「クリーピークローリー」 (Creepy Crawly) and will be out on October 1st. The next is out on October 8th and entitled 「あの音」 (Ano Oto) and the final one will come out on the 15th and will be called 「帳」 (Tobari). Each of the singles will cost 1575 yen.
They are planning an instore event for those who purchase all three releases as well as shop specific special favours. Each of the singles is also coupled with a live recording of one of the songs from their 2008 tour, 「桜の棘」 (Sakura no Toge). And they do make sure to point out that the coupling songs are different on each single.
Along with the release of the new singles, they’ll be having a oneman tour and organizing an event! (They’ll be busy this autumn!). The oneman is called 「Tour’08 creepy crawly」 and kicks off in October, covering seven places around Japan:
October 31st @ Hook SENDAI
November 2nd @ Thundersnake Atsugi
November 5th @ Kanazawa van van V4
November 8th @ Shinsaibashi CLUB DROP
November 9th @ Nagoya ell.FITS ALL

Advanced tickets go on sale from August 19th until the 31st, and regular ticket sales on September 20th.
Now their event will be called 「heart shaped box」 and takes place on October 16th at Shibuya O-EAST. Tickets for this one go on sale August 30th and the other bands participating are jealkb, heidi., and Lolita 23q.

Random Fact of the Day

Today’s fact is a very interesting one!
Ryousuke from Lolita 23q seems to be quite the traveller! In an interview when the band was talking about travelling he said,
I like it. My parents also like travelling, and so they often took me on trips. I think I’ve been to something like 10 or so countries. Out of all the places I’ve been, I like Asia, so the next place I want to go to most is Cambodia. By nature, I’m interested in historic ruins, and when I saw this movie about Angkor Wat, I was really impressed. So, of course in my life I want to go to see Angkor Wat!
I like travelling too! The place I want to go most right now is to the Ross Dependency. Or Queen Maud Land. Or Siberia.

KING OF BATTLE ROYAL

Random Fact of the Day

Turns out the girl to your left has caused some heart-break in the visual world. Who is she? A Japanese idol named Nozomi Tsuji and she has been in various girl groups such as Morning Musume and Hello! Project.
Well, in May of 2007, news of her engagement to actor Taiyo Sugira was announced and the wedding date was set for June 17th. Also, it turned out that she was pregnant which lead many to believe it was a “shot-gun marriage”. Regardless, this caused some trauma for two specific visual band members.
First, we had Mamo from R-15 with his depressed journal entry. Then, in an interview with SHOXX the members of Lolita 23q (jokingly) revealed that BAN’s poor heart was broken when he found out she was getting married.

CDJapan at ILLUSION’08

Now we don’t post live reviews on S~T.net buuuuut I just wanted to point out that CDJapan did write an entry back in January about ILLUSION’08 here. Just interesting reading this since the CDJapan blogger didn’t really know the bands before hand, so you get a different kind of review. AND they meantioned Noriko Shoji is 73?!? Really? She acts so young XD!! The entry even mentioned about Mao (Sadie) being hospitalized before the show.

H’evnのお祭り

The magazine h’evn, hosts events a few times every year. Their event that’s taking place in May of this year around Tokyo, Nagoya and Osaka is called 「へヴンのお祭り☆天まで飛ぼう！！」 (H’evn no Omatsuri☆Ten made Tobou!!).

The live in Tokyo opens at 4:45 and starts at 5:30, whereas Osaka and Nagoya open at 5:00 and start at 5:30.
The cost is 3300 yen per ticket (except for Tokyo which is 3500 yen). Tickets for Tokyo go on sale March 15th, and for Osaka and Nagoya on March 21st.

Lolita 23q Single

少女-ロリヰタ-23区 (Lolita 23q) has announced their first new release of 2008 that will be coming out on … you guessed it! MARCH 5TH! (What is it about that day?)
The single is a CD plus DVD entitled 「ホシノカケラ」 (Hoshi no Kakera) and will cost 1800 yen. Those who order from Brand-x, get a comment CD-R plus an artist card.
The tracklist for the single is:
