L’Arc-en-Ciel, the band has celebrated their formation for 20th anniversary. It has been confirmed that the “20th L’Anniversary TOUR” final in Kyocera Dome Osaka on December 4, 2011 will be released in the movie theaters worldwide.

Their new album in four years and three months , “BUTTERFLY”, will be release on February 8, 2012 and it became a hot topic when they announced that 777 winners in total will be selected and invited as guests to the event named “One Night Only, L’Arc-en-Ciel Premium Night” in LIQUIDROOM, Tokyo as album purchasing bonus.

Furthermore, from this March, “L’Arc-en-Ciel WORLD TOUR 2012” will be held in ten cities around the world including countries in Asia, New York, London and Paris.
In addition, their first Hawaii concert on May 31 and June 1 and comeback of the legendary fan event ―“Hawaii-en-Ciel”, are also announced.

A quick heads-up for East Coast (US) L’Arc~en~Ciel fans – tickets for the March 25 Madison Square Garden date of their 2012 World Tour go on sale this Saturday, January 28 through Ticketmaster. But for those of you who just cannot wait to get your hands on those tickets, there is a pre-sale going on right now limited to fans who signed up for the mailing list ahead of time! According to sources, many people who signed up for this mailing list unfortunately did not receive the pre-sale link, but if you’re one of those less-than-lucky fans, don’t fret – ask around that L’Arcosphere and you are sure to find that link before the pre-sale closes.

The ticket page of L’Arc’s OHP has not yet been updated with details for the New York show, so it is as-yet unknown whether there will be VIP packages like there are for some of the other dates, but given that it *is* Madison Square Garden, the ticket levels are definitely tiered. Prices range from $54.00 to $99.50 a pop depending on where the seats are located (Ticketmaster fees *not* included, so brace yourselves for an extra $14+ “service charge”).

If you’re not familiar with the famed Madison Square Garden, there are five levels of seating and the arena, totaling room for 20,000 concert-goers. It’s not quite the size of Tokyo Dome, but it is New York’s ultimate entertainment stadium, where domestic and international acts alike solidify their superstar reputations by bringing together tens of thousands of fans in the heart of midtown Manhattan.

Keep your eyes peeled, your credit card numbers memorized, and your trigger fingers hovering over that home row because the good seats are going fast!

ZIGZO, something of a minor super band with ex-members from MALICE MIZER, L’Arc~en~Ciel, and BY-SEXUAL, called it quits a decade ago. But just around the time of the new year information began to spring up about a revival, thanks to a Tweet by drummer Sakura. Now, it’s official — ZIGZO will have a reunion show at Akasaka BLITZ on March 17, 2012, exactly 10 years and 1 day after their dissolution — and that may not be all.
 

mFound speculates there may be more than a one-day reunion show in the works for the band, who recently revamped their website to include new photos, and who have named the March 17th show “THE 2ND SCENE ZIGZO”, a suggestive title considering the last live was dubbed “THE LAST SCENE ZIGZO”. They are also set to release a CD at this show titled “ZIGZO 20110620″, a 10-track rehearsal live disc recorded at a “secret rehearsal” on June 20, 2011.
 

Fans and reporters alike expect more news from the band, but we may all have to wait until March 17. I personally can’t possibly overstate my excitement!

During their “20th L’Anniversary Starting Live L’A HAPPY NEW YEAR!” concert at the Makuhari Messe tonight, L’Arc~en~Ciel made several announcements about their 2011 schedule. They will release 3 best albums in February and a live DVD box set in March, then hold two back-to-back concerts at Tokyo’s Ajinomoto Stadium in May.

The best albums will be released simultaneously on February 16. They will represent different periods of L’Arc~en~Ciel’s career, titled “TWENITY 1991-1996,” “TWENITY 1997-1999,” and “TWENITY 2000-2010.” A special box set with all three CDs and a bonus DVD will be released on March 9 under the title “TWENITY BOX.”

On March 30, the band will release a live DVD box set called “FIVE LIVE ARCHIVES 2.” The set consists of 5 discs, each featuring a concert that has never been released on DVD before. The five concerts are:

1. Tokyo Dome – December 23, 1997 (1997 REINCARNATION)
2. Osaka Cosmosquare – July 17, 1999 (1999 GRAND CROSS TOUR)
3. LIQUIDROOM ebisu – July 28, 2005 (AWAKE TOUR 2005 Zenyasai “Konya Kiseki ga Okiru!?)
4. Fuji-Q Highland Conifer Forest – August 26, 2007 (Are you ready? 2007 Mata Heart ni Hi wo Tsukeru!)

Then on May 28-29, L’Arc~en~Ciel will perform two concerts at the Ajinomoto Stadium in Tokyo. Ticket sales have not yet been scheduled.

It was recently revealed that musician HYDE (L’Arc~en~Ciel, VAMPS) is doing his first voice acting work for the “Bakuman” anime series. At a post-recording event on Monday, he lamented that he couldn’t be natural in his role because he was nervous.

The anime is based on the “Bakuman” manga, created by the “Death Note” duo of Tsugumi Ohba and Takeshi Obata. The story revolves around two aspiring manga artists, and one of the characters in the story is a mangaka and musician named Koogy. HYDE is providing the voice for himself, appearing in the anime as Koogy’s producer.

In addition to his voice role, HYDE rewrote the English lyrics of the VAMPS song “GET UP” into Japanese, and that version is used as one of Koogy’s songs in the show.

“Bakuman” airs on Saturdays at 6:00pm on NHK Educational.

L’Arc~en~Ciel has made it a yearly tradition of releasing a Hurry Xmas single, and this year is no different! Hurry Xmas 2010 will be released on November 24th. Although this version won’t differ in terms of tracklisting, it will have a new cover design and will come with a new photocards and special Christmas ornament.

On January 27th 2010 L’Arc-en-Ciel bassist and leader tetsuya will release a book titled ‘tetsuya / L’Arc-en-Ciel’! In the book tetsuya will reveal untold stories about the band, and a collection of high quality photos will be included! It takes a closer look at the bassist from every possible angle.

tetsuya is the founder and undisputed leader of L’Arc-en-Ciel. One of the notable features of the book is an extensive interview article spanning 30,000 letters, complete with pictures taken during the discussion. tetsuya, who has been the driving force of the band, talks in detail about his childhood, how L’Arc-en-Ciel came to be, the steps and missteps leading to their breakthrough, and also his thoughts and philosophy about music.
Fans can look back at the band’s history through live photos taken over the years. Photos of various instruments and picks used by tetsuya to create the many L’Arc-en-Ciel masterpieces are included too. The book will also come with reissues of all the interview articles that were published in ‘Bass Magazine’ from 1997 to 2007. Many other rare articles, such as bass scores written by tetsuya himself, have been included as well! A must-have for all L’Arc-en-Ciel fans!

This event will take place on the weekend of May 22nd to the 24th at Asakasa Sacas. The museum will feature their “DOCUMENTARY FILMS 〜Trans ASIA via PARIS〜” and “LIVE IN PARIS” DVDs to be shown on a large screen monitor, followed by an event which displays a collection of photographs for sale from “a Paris”.

The band has decided that after the summer release of their new single “NEXUS 4 / SHINE” the band will be going on an activity pause until the year 2011.

2011 will mark 20 years of the band being together and thus they will be holding a “2011 Next Live 20th Anniversary Live”.

During the pause, the members intent on doing solo work.
