Thanks to Lay for sending this one in. Introducing a new band! They’re called, Seven. Some of you may be happy/familiar to see who’s in this line-up:

They are extremely new and have officially formed as a band as of May 28th. Their first live wont be until October 3rd at CC Lemon Hall. They will be releasing a collaboration single as their debut release with 真矢 (Shinya) ex.LUNA SEA on September 9th. They will be opening their official blog on Ameba on June 7th.

Kaito back in action!

We mentioned before that Kaito (ex-Guy’s Family, ex-Shulla) would be participating in a session band on October 17th (you can find more details here). Well, Kaito has now made more of a return to the scene and has opened up a brand new blog because of his session band activities.

Kaito (and I’m SO glad he changed it back to Kaito) is one of my favourite artists and I can’t even begin to explain how happy I was to find that he’s starting blogging again and is doing well. I’ve translated the entry he’s posted there (not the very first one about the session band, but the second one entitled そして). The first entry just says that he’ll be in a session band and he’s made this new blog and that he’s looking forward to singing again.
But here’s the entry that he’s posted. I think many fans will feel better reading it considering the rocky path he had to go down earlier this year.
I’m truly sorry for the abrupt way that the band Guy’s Family came to an end.
Frankly speaking, even now I absolutely love Guy’s Family, and I love the members of Guy’s Family.
Not long ago I went out to eat with Reo, and when he told me “Kaichan, you HAVE to sing again! It was because we had your songs that I was able to be in Guy’s Family, so you have to!”, I was really happy.
At a time when I feel like I’d pretty much forgotten about singing songs, the things that were said in that conversation I had with Reo gave me a push on the back.
Reo, seriously, Thank You.
And I’m thankful to the members of Guy’s Family and the office for supporting the overly selfish me.
Being changed, I want to thank everyone but because I feel a bit awkward saying it…
I feel that I want to convey it in a song.
To all of you who loved and gave your support to Shinobu, Reo, Takepon, Taku
And KightFrom the bottom of my heart, from hereon in, even if it’s only little by little, Kaito will continue to deliver.
Even now, in this cracked voice of mine,

I wanted to add that the comments he’s received from this post have been so sweet, and it’s really touching that so many people are glad he’s back! The majority of the comments are welcoming his return, and offering support. As well as letting him know how much the fans loved him and the music he did with both Guy’s Family and Shulla.
Providing he doesn’t post an insane amount, I’ll be trying to keep up with translating his journal entries over at the translation journal on LJ, Kotoba Ijime (which I feel horrible about neglecting lately, so I’ll try to post more regularly there).

Yesterday at YURAsama’s birthday event, the formation of a new project called “Brother” took place!
It has quite the interesting line-up:

hixro from v (Neu) has announced that he’ll be participating in Kazutake’s (ex-Guy’s Family) birthday event! The event is called “Pon’s Summit” and it will take place on October 24th at Shibuya BOXX.
The event opens at 5:30, starts at 6:00 and costs 3150 yen to attend or 3600 yen at the door. The artists that will be making an appearance are as follows (according to Kazutake’s blog):

Looks like it will be a fun event! There are some pretty cool artists there, that I’m a fan of at least! For example we have Reo was also in Guy’s Family with Kazutake. It’s definitely good to see Sarino (ex-TINC) still around! Misa is from BABYLON (love them!), and Hayato and Kei from MASQUERADE. Michiru, of course, was with Kazutake in his MASK days. So all in all it looks like it’ll be a fun birthday for him!

Guy’s Family FINAL PARTY

Many people were shocked when Guy’s Family disbanded back on May 1st, and even moreso with Kight’s message.
But at least there is one more release coming out in their name – their final album “Final Party”. It’s a CD and DVD that comes with 17 tracks on the album and three tracks on the DVD.
The release date is set for July 2nd and the price is 3150 yen.

A message from Kight

So if you remember back at the beginning of the month, Guy’s Family disbanded without any notice shocking a lot of fans and making them really upset. Most people seemed to blame the band’s vocalist Kight. Finally, today we hear from him. He updated his journal with information about what really happened with the band disbanding.
They have posted an announcement on their OHP, basically saying it was because of various reasons but Kight was in poor physical condition. They said that activity would have been impossible to continue. They also said that all the members decided that May 1st would be their final live. I think you’ll find what Kight has written to be a bit contradictory.
Before I get to Kight’s message, I also wanted to say that Takumi also updated a few days ago, however he offers really no explanation and just says that he is sorry to the fans, thanks everyone and says that he did enjoy the band.
Kight’s is actually quite heartbreaking. So without further adieu here’s a translation of what he posted.
First, to begin with, I’m truly sorry for the way we broke up.
I feel that I should write the truth about it.In December of last year, a certain one of the members was talking about leaving the band.
At first, we talked about getting a new member and continuing on with our activities.
However, in the long run I wasn’t really eager to do that and as the result of really thinking about it, I wanted only the five of us to continue on to the very end.
So then meeting, after meeting [us disbanding] was the repeated result, and the other day on May 1st at Shibuya O-WEST, we planned to have the projector say that our last live would be in August at Akasaka BLITZ.
In all honesty, I was mortified…
I was mortified so much that I cried…
I was the only one who didn’t know that May 1st was our final live and we were disbanding…
In all the meetings we had about it I wasn’t involved, no one ever called out ot me and no one ever told me anything about it.
I didn’t know anything…
Immediately after the live, they told me that at that live we had “disbanded”…
As for the reason, in the message they posted on the OHP they apparently said something I was in bad shape.
I should tell you the truth.
Now, there’s lots of rumours going around about my physical condition.
I did not at all mean for it to seem like I betrayed you guys.
I don’t know if now after all this time you want to hear nothing but excuses, but since the “ROYAL HONEY”tour there was a huge change in both my body and my mind.
I have a stomach illness so I was going to the hospital, and I was also going to a psychiatrist.
You could say I was really alone…
“Isolation”
I was so isolated that I couldn’t stand it…
You plan to believe that you have the same goals and are seeing the same dream, but before you know it you become separated from them.
Being powerless, I couldn’t repair myself.
The me who made Guy’s Family…
The relationships I had with people…
Within all those kinds of things…I couldn’t even talk to anyone…
When my physical condition was bad and when I couldn’t perform well at lives, I wanted to say something…
I wanted to punch something…
I’m not saying that I’m not a bad guy.
Because it’s my job to control my physical condition.Despite that, the five of us could have overcome anything until, as we had decided, we would disband in August and I’d decided to continue singing with Guy’s Family.
I wanted to properly say
“Goodbye”“Thank you”.
Even now I have nothing but regrets about it.
I wanted to sing more.
You guys are probably more vexed than I am, and you probably feel betrayed to the point where you want to kill me.
Thinking about it, makes me feel on edge.
I’m truly, truly sorry.
Saying goodbye like this is inconsolable and although I can’t easily approve of it…

I TOTALLY did not see this coming.
And I’m ridiculously disappointed. Kight is one of my favourites in the visual world, so if you ask me, this majorly blows.
However, Guy’s Family, as of May 1st has disbanded. The messsage on their OHP posted by the record company says:
To the fans,
Thank you for always supporting Guy’s Family.
At this time, the band Guy’s Family who belongs to our company, announced on May 1st during their performance at Shibuya O-WEST that they would disband.However, they also reported that they will be releasing a best of album called “Final Party” on July 2nd.
Many thanks to the fans who have been supporting the band, the staff and all those connected for everything up until now.

Timely Records
No one has actually posted anything about it in their journals, except for Shinobu who gave a “hint” saying that there was a “secret”. He did say however, that work has come to a close. This entry was posted before the live took place on May 1st.
I was looking for answers on 2ch (which admittedly is probably not the best place for answers, but I thought there might be some explanation). No one seems to know why they’ve broken up.
THIS IS ONLY A RUMOUR.
However, one user DID post that Kight has been arrested. Once again, this is a rumour and I can’t say if it’s true or not. I haven’t found anything about it, but if anyone has an official source saying it’s true, pass it along our way. Another speculated that maybe their relationships turned sour, and they decided to just call off the band. Neither of these thoughts are confirmed.
Here’s an update on a bit of the gossip. It seems to be the general consensus from many fans that it’s Kight’s fault. Although, he’s always seemed to have a following of “anti-fans” you could say. Fans are extremely angered by the fact that they didn’t announce beforehand that this was their final live.
One person who attended the live on the 1st said that there wasn’t an MC, and that the members hardly spoke at all. Everyone seems to find the sudden break up pretty strange, and are disappointed that the band isn’t having a final live.

I’ve been waiting to hear more before I posted and finally, it came.
バビロン (Babylon) after what seems like months of inactivity has finally announced (on their journal) that they’ll be participating in an event on April 27th at Shibuya O-EAST.
I’m really excited to know that they’ll be doing something, after all that inactivity! There were lots of rumours flying around that they were going to or even had disbanded, but thankfully that hasn’t happened. (Knock on wood)

They’re one of my favourite bands and I highly recommend them. ^^

They’re actually playing in an event put on by another band I love, ガイズファミリー (Guy’s Family) called 「ガイズパーティー vol. 4」 (Guy’s Party vol. 4).
Like I said before, it’s on April 27th at Shibuya O-EAST and will open at 4:00 and start at 4:30. The price is 3500 yen for advance order tickets and 4000 yen bought on that day.

ガイズファミリー (Guy’s Family) another band on my favourites list, has two pieces of good news. The first, is a new maxi-single coming out on March 12th entitled “ROYAL HONEY”. The tracklist and cost has not yet been published and will be at a later date.
But also! The band has released the dates for their Spring oneman tour, “ROYAL HONEY” which beings in April. They’ll be covering three venues:
April 17th @ OSAKA MUSE
April 19th @ Nagoya ell.FITSALL
May 1st @ Shibuya O-West
The lives open at 6:00 and start at 6:30, except the one in Nagoya which opens at 5:00 and starts at 5:30. The price is 3500 yen and tickets go on sale through their website from January 20th ~ 27th then the ordinary sales start on the February 16th.

A spiffy kind of New Year’s card

This is something I thought was really cool.
So-net, an internet service provider in Japan, on their website has an area where members can choose from a variety of designs and send an online greeting card.
Two new designs that they’ve added for New Year’s cards feature MixSpeaker’s,Inc. and Guy’s Family!
Ah, I’d love to receive a Guy’s Family New Year’s card online, haha.
I’m not a member, so I couldn’t go investigate any further, but they have a small image preview of the Guy’s Family one which I screen capped it for anyone who’s curious. The MixSpeaker’sInc. one is not yet available, but they say it’ll be up soon. You can find the site online here as well.

These always make me laugh…

Let me start out by saying that I’m not one of those people who criticize and laugh when non-native English speakers make mistakes in their English. I mean, I’m sure I make weird mistakes in Japanese and I definitely would not want someone laughing at me about it.
But there are those songs that you listen to, and suddenly you think ‘Hey, they’re not singing in Japanese at that part‘, and you come to realize that it was indeed, English. Then you realize, you have no idea what it’s actually saying. But hey, that happens to songs sung by native English speakers as well.
So for your listening pleasure, I have come with samples of three songs, all of which have English in them.
Comment and let me know what you think it sounds like they’re saying (minus five points if you already know the song and lyrics). I’ve written what it originally sounded like to me and if you hear the same thing, let me know!
