Reika x Vanilla Edge

玲夏 (Reika) from ダウト (D=OUT) has teamed up with Vanilla Edge to create a couple of different pieces!

We’ll start with powerstone bracelets called 「The People」, which come in two types and cost 12000 yen each.

Both bracelets are made from the ‘powerstones’ onyx and red agate. According to the description on Vanilla Edge, onyx is a jet black stone that is considered to absorb wicked thoughts and negative energies, strengthen determination and beliefs, and stabilize both the mind and body. Red agate is a stone which symbolizes “love”, and deepens the bonds between family or couples.

The first type is 【type:cross】 and it features crosses on the stones which were inscribed using lasers, and the second type is 【type:star】 which has stars done in the same manner.

Those who purchase either type will receive a special message card signed by Reika.

The second collaboration piece is definitely different. This time around, it’s a set that includes an alarm crock clock and one of two types of powerstone bracelets which 15,000 yen (per set).

The first set is called 【type:Amethyst】, and the bracelet features both clear crystal and amethyst stones. The amethyst help to release stress from a tired mind, they calm you down, and project calmness and tranquility. The second is 【type:Crystal】 which is made of crystals only. The crystals are stones that have the power of “harmony, unification and solidity”, and they excel at purification. Both types of bracelet are marked with star symbols.

The second part of the set is the “TOO HARD TO GET UP EARLY” alarm clock, which believe it or not, also features Reika’s voice. The clock has a photo of Reika, his signature, along with the time, date, and temperature.

Vanilla Edge is taking orders from now until February 10th and will be shipping them out at the beginning of March. All of the bracelets are adjustable.

Lets talk about heroes! Kouki lists his parents and Kazutoshi Sakurai has his heroes. Who is Kazutoshi Sakurai? He is a well known song writer and performer in the popular jpop act Mr. Children. Kouki is my hero for being a non smoker!!!

I always find it so endearing for musicians to list their parents as their heroes.

D=OUT’s new album

ダウト (D=OUT) will be releasing a new album on March 10th called 「CARNIVAL浮世」 (CARNIVAL Ukiyo).

The album is coming out in three types, and the title changes slightly with the different versions.

The Limited Press Edition Type A is called 「CARNIVAL浮世～大～」 (CARNIVAL Ukiyo~Dai~) and it’s 3675 yen for the album, plus a DVD containing a new PV plus a sleeve cover.

The Limited Press Edition Type B, 「CARNIVAL浮世～吟～」 (CARNIVAL Ukiyo~Gin~), comes with the album along with a “self-admiration photo collection”, which will be 48 pages. This type also comes with the sleeve cover, and costs 3675 yen.

The Regular Press Edition is titled 「CARNIVAL浮世～醸～」 (CARNIVAL Ukiyo~Jou~) and costs 3150 yen. This edition comes with one of ten changeable jackets.

ダウト (D=OUT) have announced the details for their new 2010 tour that kicks off in March called 『御礼参り EXPO’10～(三)周年記念祭～』 (Oreimairi EXPO’10～(San) Shuunen Kinensai～).

Each live costs 3000 yen to attend, and advance sales are from December 1st until the 7th through SPEEDDISKWEB, while regular ticket sales begin on December 12th. The final, on April 25th, costs 3500 yen and they will be giving everyone who attends a specila momento to celebrate their three years.

Kouki’s watch a hit

Just over a year ago, we talked about D=OUT’s Kouki, and how he collaborated with VanillaEdge to create a watch, available in two styles.

Well, apparently there was such a request for more stock, that VanillaEdge has announced they are currently remaking and reselling the item!

They did make a few changes to the original design (which you can find more about here).

・ The cost of the raw materials has increased, and therefore the price has as well. (It went from 10000 yen to 15000 yen).

・ You are able to choose the watch’s dial, depending on the number of inventory available.

・ The carved seal is not included. Instead, there is a burnt seal from Kouki himself.

・ Shipping may become delayed.

・ Those who wish to have a pouch, can choose that option for 100 yen extra.

They started reservations on November 13th, but according to the website they are sold out already! Hopefully they’ll have another round soon…

The following announcement was posted on behalf of all the members of ダウト (D=OUT) on the member’s blogs:

Thank you for continuously supporting D=OUT.
We were scheduled to perform on November 9th in Hakata at the ZEAL LINK 2nd Anniversary TOUR ‘09, however, due to a couple of our member’s being in poor health, they have had to pull out of the performance.

Our vocalist, Kouki, has been diagnosed with acute gastritis, and our bassist Reika is currently in extremely poor health, and therefore have decided that they will not be performing. However, the remaining three members will be making an appearance of some sort.

To all of you who were looking forward to the live, we are sincerely sorry for the trouble, and causing you to be concerned.
We also apologize for the abruptness of this announcement.

We will continue to do our best as soon as our members have fully recovered, so we hope that you can continue to support us.

Kouki posted the following entry in his blog:

I’m sorry that I haven’t really been able to update my blog.
I do apologize to everyone, but at this time I have an announcement.

Yesterday, because of having acute gastritis, I ended up in the hospital in Kobe.
Yesterday I was just able to stand the pain, but finally I’m feeling a bit better so I can write in my blog. Although I feel extremely sorry that these are the results of the medical examination, it turns out that performing at tomorrow’s live would be difficult.

Personally, I was really looking forward to it, and I was excited to be able to meet everyone in Fukuoka, so even now, and until the very last moment, I feel that I want to keep struggling to perform.

The results of the exam that I’m having first thing tomorrow morning will determine if I can go to Fukuoka, however, we didn’t want to be discourteous to our fans, so we had to tell all of you who were looking forward to the live what was going on.

We talked about cancelling the performance, but instead of cancelling, we want to meet everyone who is waiting for us in Fukuoka. So, the members have already left for Fukuoka, and are looking forward to meeting with everyone.

Therefore, now it’s necessary for me to fight, and even if the likelihood is small, I’m going to bet on being able to see you all tomorrow.

I think that there are a number of people who were looking forward to the live, who took a holiday to see us, or who travelled far to come to the performance, and sincerely apologize for making you worry, and for all the trouble.

Reika also wrote in his blog about what’s going on with him:

Sometime in the middle of the night last night, my physical condition was just destroyed.
Now, I have a fever.
Honestly speaking, with the way my body feels right now, I can hardly move, and it’s really tough. However, my honest intentions are that whatever shape I’m in, I want to perform at tomorrow’s live.

I’ll make it to Hakata,
and as soon as I get there, if I go to the hospital to get a checkup,
they’ll tell me that it’s impossible for me to perform.

Then,
if I’m sick because of a virus,
they’ll tell me that me that even just being on stage is troublesome to everyone.

This is just my own judgement, so it’s a bit unreasonable, but whether or not I can perform depends on the diagnosis I get tomorrow, and I too want to be there, enjoying the time with everyone.

I’m really sorry for the sudden announcement.

D=Out vocalist breaks his arm

During a live last week, singer Kouki broke his right arm after a fall off the stage.

The doctors said that he will be 100% in 3 weeks and the band’s activities will not change. He will continue doing shows with the arm cast.

ダウト (D=OUT) will be releasing a new single titled 「青い鳥」 (Aoi Tori; Blue Bird) in three types, on August 26th!

Type A will cost 1890 yen, and contain the title track, plus a second called 「鬼門」 (Kimon; Demon’s Gate) and a DVD. The DVD will have a PV for 「青い鳥」 (Aoi Tori).

ダウト (D=OUT) is releasing a new single on April 22nd, that will be coming out in three types, but has yet to be titled.

Type A will come with a DVD that contains a band history documentary and cost 1890 yen. Type B, which is also 1890 yen, has a DVD which holds a PV plus the making of. And finally, Type C is the single only, and comes with three tracks for 1575 yen.

Each type is available for pre-ordering on CDJapan, so all interested fans should reserve their copies now!

Ibuki’s design

VanillaEdge has teamed up with Ibuki from D=OUT for a new collabrative jewelry design! This time it’s a bracelet which was created in two different types. The design itself is called ‘Seadragon’, and it has a seahorse inspried motif. There are two types; ‘MUSIC’ and ‘BRAVE’.

The ‘BRAVE’ type (black) is listed as ‘masculine’ and is only avaiable for a very limited time — you can order your copy from January 17th for a period of 24 hours. This one is made of silver 925, cubic zirconia and a gunmetal chain.

‘MUSIC’ is the ‘feminine’ type (blue) and can be pre-ordered from January 16th until the 31st. This type has silver 925, cubic zirconia, and a dialane swarovski crystal chain.

Both versions cost 10000 yen (roughly $110 USD) and will be sent out in March.
