There is another new band around, including some quite awesome members. Sadly, there are no official photos on their home page to post, but I believe most of you will be excited to hear that

D’ray members form session band

It was just last week when we posted about the disbandment of D’espairsRay. Many people emailed us with excitement, claiming there was a new band but after looking into ZERO’s blog this is only a mere session band. The session is called LUV PARADE and will have the the three members with guest vocals by TAKA (defspiral / ex. THE UNDERNEATH) – who isn’t HIZUMI but does have some nice vocal talent!!

As of June 15, 2011, D’espairsRay, who had been on indefinite hiatus since last fall due to severe problems with Hizumi’s voice and health, has officially disbanded.
According to very heartfelt messages from the members on the OHP, with no sign of Hizumi’s condition improving, the band has decided there is no choice but to let this be the natural end of D’espairsRay.
Due to the circumstances, there will be no farewell concert or tour. The band thanks all their fans for their endless support and asks for their forgiveness in this most unfortunate of conclusions.
More details, translations to come later.

According to their fanclub mail magazine D’espairsRay are going to release a live DVD and a best of album next year on March 30th. The DVD is called [‘Human-clad Monsters’ – Final] and will cost 4800 Yen. It will contain their live on December 30th, at Yokohama BLITZ which was their last live before the band will go on hiatus. We talked about their hiatus here. There is no tracklist or cover yet. The best of will be released in two types but the regular type will go on sale as soon as the limited edition is sold out. Limited edition costs 4500 Yen and contains a CD + DVD.

D’espairsRay Announces Hiatus

Following announcement was posted to D’espairsRay’s official Facebook:
To all our fans who have followed us and supported us throughout the years;
After much consideration and discussion, all 4 members of D’espairsRay have decided to take an indefinite hiatus following the conclusion of the ‘D’espairsRay World Tour 2010 “Human-clad Monsters”‘. During this time the band will be taking a break from all concerts and recording.
The reason for this hiatus is to allow HIZUMI (vo.) to fully recover from a past illness that has affected his throat and made it difficult to sing. HIZUMI has dealt with this rare throat condition for over a year, but the band’s busy touring and recording schedule hasn’t allowed him the time to fully undergo treatment. He currently plans to spend the early part of next year in recovery, and return to the band as soon as possible.
Although HIZUMI has undergone treatment to temporarily allow him to continue the current tour, it is not a permanent fix and there is no guarantee as to how long it will last. All 4 members of D’espairsRay plan to give their all for the remaining shows on this tour, both in Japan and overseas, and thank you for your continuing support in these difficult times.

D’espairsRay cancels shows

Seems like D’espairsRay has canceled 3 of their shows. Two in Texas and the show in Atlanta. So far I haven’t found any information in regarding on what to do if you already purchased a ticket. We’ll update to let you guys know asap!
It is with a heavy heart that we must announce the cancellation of the Houston, Dallas, and Atlanta shows for this year’s US tour. Various unforseen complications have arisen, and although the band wants nothing more than to go to all locations as originally planned, it simply won’t be possible this time.
We understand the disappointment many of you must be feeling, and all we can do is ask for your forgiveness and understanding. If nothing else, please don’t blame the members of D’espairsRay as they had nothing to do with this turn of events and are just as disappointed as the fans in Texas and Atlanta.
Creating a tour of this scale often depends a lot on the performance of the previous year’s tour. Since we didn’t go to the US in 2009, we have had to start from scratch with organizing this year’s concerts. We hope to have a successful yet somewhat small tour this year, and if all goes well we should be able to organize a much bigger and better US tour next year.
Again, we apologize from the bottom of our hearts and ask that you don’t lose faith in us. The members and staff of D’espairsRay look forward to the day when we can meet you all!

New album from D’espairsRay

Great news again! D’espairsRay is going to release a new album before their World tour. It’s titled as 「MONSTERS」and will be out July 28th. Album includes「FINAL CALL」, 「LOVE IS DEAD」 and 10 new songs.
There will be two versions of the album. Regular Edition for 3,000 yen and Limited Edition for 3,500 yen. Limited edition will include extra DVD with music video.

Maru Music is holding a very cool contest for D’espairsRay fans! They’re calling on fans to create a commercial for D’espairsRay’s newest album, 「IMMORTAL」!
As written on the Maru Music OHP:
Create a video commercial for D’espairsRay latest release IMMORTAL.
The commercial must feature the IMMORTAL cover and the Maru Music Logo,which Maru Music will provide. Maru Music and D’espairsRay will review the videos looking for the most original and memorable content.
The winning commercial will be featured on the Maru Music website. The winners will receive a Prize Pack featuring IMMORTAL from D’espairsRay, Maru Music Merchandise and more!The submission deadline is Monday June 21, 2010 so don’t delay
