After the members’ blogs were officially updated last night regarding important news to be revealed at 6PM today, Chemical Pictures has announced that bassist Jimi will be leaving the band.

The reason is from neither musical nor personal differences – rather, difficulties continuing with band activities while on his visa.

The official announcement, dated November 1st, also states that Jimi himself made the decision to withdraw for the sake of the band, and that releases afterward will go on as planned. CPS hopes that fans can understand their decision in this difficult situation.

December 20th is my last show with Chemical Pictures.

There are lots of reasons I’m leaving–wanting to get my visa straight, wanting a more stable life, ftc.–but none are due to ‘musical differences’ or internal struggles.

I still believe CPS is a strong group of great musicians and friends who should and will go all the way. I just won’t be there with them.

You’ve all been great supporters and friends and I hope you’ve enjoyed watching my little foray into music and such. And I’m sorry if this is a sudden shock.

I don’t see myself being in bands anymore, at least not as a main member in an active vk band, but it wouldn’t be fair to disappear forever. I’ll be around in some capacity, maybe, though it may not be soon. And I’ll still be in Japan.

This is an important announcement to everyone.

On December 20, 2010, bassist Jimi has decided to leave Chemical Pictures.

The reason for his withdrawal is in regards to big problems coming from his current activities in Chemical Pictures, as participating outside of his nationality has become difficult. Although he cannot fully convey the private problems related, Jimi himself decided that leaving would be best for the band.

Having continued this year from spring to the end 5-month consecutive release, as well as before the entering of rui as a new member, we are terribly sorry to report this news to you at the fresh start of these 5 people.

This withdrawal is not because of musical or personal differences, instead, it’s a rare practical problem, and if we could receive your understanding for this difficult decision, we would be happy.

After Jimi’s withdrawal live, the releases will continue on as planned. Once decided, more details will be announced on the official web site, and later, member blogs.

Although this may have caused everyone trouble and worry, Chemical Pictures, as well as Jimi, hopes that you can still support us.

It’s time for me to leave Chemical Pictures. I’m really sorry.

I love music and I love bands, but because of visa-related matters, I can’t continue with the band. In order for me to get a visa that allows me to stay in Japan from now on, I have to severely restrict my band activities, and so for the time being, must refrain from doing it.

I’m going to do my best with the valuable experiences I’ve had up until now. I am very thankful to have been able to meet other bands and people along with CPS members.

I’ll only be away from music for a little while. Even though it will no longer contain the chemical element known as “Jimi”, please continue to support the scientific substance known as “Chemical Pictures”.

For all your encouraging words up until now, thank you so much.

Although we talked about Chemical Pictures gaining a new member just the other day, it turns out that Billy will no longer be part of the band.

Tenten posted the following announcement in his blog, followed by apologies to his fans as well as declaring that he’ll never give up:

I have an important announcement from Chemical Pictures.

The other day we announced that our new member, Billy, had officially joined the band, however, just before he joined he had been repeatedly hospitalized, and as he’s still in poor condition, he inevitably needs more time to recuperate.

Moreover, Billy has decided that for him, continuing on with band activities in the future will be too difficult, and therefore we have accepted his decision to leave Chemical Pictures.

While planning consecutive releases and facing recording, we reached the point where finally Chemical Pictures could do activities with five members, this suddenly happening made both Billy himself and the members confused, but there’s nothing we can do except accept the current circumstances.

Starting from tomorrow’s live, May 6th at Takadanobaba AREA, we will continue our activities with four members, but we will be happy if everyone can continue to cheer us on.

We hope that from here on, you will continue to support Chemical Pictures.
