Cheeky disbanding

チーキィ (Cheeky) have decided to disband on the 26th of June. Here is the official announcement regarding that fact:

As it was announced at our gig a few days ago, Cheeky will be disbanding as of our sponsored gig at the Urawa Narushisu.
We would like to deeply apologise here for the sudden announcement and the result of this to our fans and to those involved.
A while back within the members, on top of aiming as high as possible with our work, we found our differences in relation to music which is what trigged this off. However, we talked about it but were unable to make our directions of thought meet.
In those discussions, we then found that some members wanted to prioritise other things before Cheeky, and so the differences in enthusiasm [motivation] also came up.The members who wanted to continue Cheeky tried their best at regaining the lost enthusiasm of those members for the fans and supporters, but the motivation to continue the band faded. Within the members who no longer put working with the band as their first priority, it was thought to be impossible to continue Cheeky, and so it was decided by the members that they would disband.
There is not much time left until our last gig, but we will make sure that everyone will thoroughly enjoy the gig until the very end, so although it been a decision of our own convenience, we hope that you will enjoy yourselves.
We will be waiting at the live hall.
All members of Cheeky
Each member wrote a comment trying to explain the reason for this kind of decision too:
Sadon’s Comment:

We apologise for the sudden announcement, however, this is the result.

I will sing till the end as the vocalist of Cheeky.Sadon

H.Y.T.’s comment:
H.Y.T here!
As was announced at the gigs a few days ago, Cheeky is disbanding.
I’m sorry for the sudden announcement.
I hope that you can try to understand. On a personal level, this also marks the end of my being in a band at this point in my life.
That’s why I’m going to give it my all for the 3 remaining gigs, so all of you – come at us with all you have with no regrets, ok?
It’s a promise!
H.Y.T
Yoshitaka’s Comment:
I apologise that this has become a sudden announcement.
It’s difficult to put into words, but to be honest, I’m dissappointed that things have turned out like this.
The truth is that I’m not sad or upset; the only emotion that comes rushing out “regret”.Because since I’ve been a part of Cheeky, I haven’t been able to get a sense of achievement or satisfaction.
In the past I hadn’t given too much thought about doing our one-man gigs, tours, and making music with the band in our usual day to day schedule. But to know that this is coming to an end when there are things I’ve wanted to do and haven’t been able to do with Cheeky, I’ve learnt the feeling of irritation through this unrewarding conclusion.
This has to do with differences between the values and preparation towards the members and our band activities, and I think that there’s not much we can do about it.
But, I think that instead of looking at reasons to give up you need to look for reasons to carry on.
It’s easy to run away or toss things to the side.
Those who step forward from a dangerous path of hardships, will obviously carry many risks. You are sure to get hold of something valuable at the end of those risks, and I don’t think that you can reach that destination without losing some things on the way.
Here’s how I became painfully aware of fate and the difficulties of walking on forward with other band members.
But, I have hung out with the band members from the past both privately and through work, so I wish to give my respects to each member’s decision and the new path they want to take.
I liked Cheeky more than anything, so even if our paths differ we will stay good friends.
No matter what time will bring, to make sure that this becomes a fragment of a wonderful memory that won’t fade away, I want to carve [make] this with everyone I love. That is the last thing I want to do with Cheeky.
Please do support us till the end.
Yoshitaka
As mentioned above, the last live will take place on the 26th of June at Urawa Narciss. It will be called 『浦和茶番劇場〜fall in love〜』 (Urawachaban Gekijou〜fall in love〜). The tickets cost 2800 yen in advance and 3300 yen at the door. What is more, all those who arrive at the gig with pre-bought Cheeky tickets will get a free live-distributed CD.
