Canzel have announced that on August 11th they will be disbanding. Along with disbanding, their vocalist, Icchi, has decided to leave the music scene. Before they go, the band will be putting out two best of albums and holding five oneman shows.

On this occasion, we are announcing that along with Canzel’s vocalist, Icchi, leaving the band, he will also be retiring from music. Therefore, after having a three consecutive day oneman performance on August 9th, 10th and 11th at Takadanobaba AREA, Canzel will be disbanding.

We are deeply sorry to everyone who has been constantly supporting us and helping us along, however, in respect to each member’s course of action for the future, this is the decision we reached.

We are sorry for having to make this kind of announcement.

We only have a little time left, however, the members will put their all into everything they do until the very end, so we hope that you can continue to support us.

Icchi posted his comment along with the announcement:

There’s something that I have to tell you all.

Although it’s unexpected, I have decided to leave Canzel.
Furthermore, after our three day oneman lives on August 9th, 10th and 11th at AREA, Canzel will be disbanding.

Since the end of our oneman live at WEST last year, I’ve been feeling that as a singer, I’ve reached my limits in regard to my skill as a singer and my power of expression. There’s also been a lot of personal things piling up, and I began to realize that there was a gap forming between myself and the members.

However, I’m really good friends with the guys in Canzel, we never stopped laughing, and I really think they’re awesome members, so leaving is something I was really troubled about.

But as a result of speaking frankly to all of the members time and time again and having lengthy discussions, we finally decided that we didn’t want Canzel to go through a member change.

I’m really sorry that this announcement was so sudden and if you’re saddened because of it.

I think that there will be many feelings, sadness, anger, that will vary person by person about this announcement.

However, this is all I can say.
Because you’re here, I’ve been able to come this far.
Every single word that you have given me up until today, has pushed me forward.
I am truly beyond grateful, for all the letters, presents, and memories… thank you.
Until we disband, we’ll have been active for about two and a half years, and from now on I want to pack off my gratitude towards you into my songs.
Even though we only have a short time left, until the very last moment, I want to have a wonderful time with you all.

Even more than before, I want you to reach your hands out to me with a smile.
Because I too will take your hand with a smile.

And, for the end of Canzel, we’ve made a best of album.
We’ll put all of our memories of you into the recording of this final CD.

That’s one thing that I wanted to tell you.

We’ll make our Nagoya and Osaka oneman show, and our last three days oneman shows awesome lives that you won’t forget.

As mentioned in Icchi’s message and in their disbanding message, the band will be having two oneman shows – one in Osaka and one in Nagoya, and a three days oneman live in Tokyo.
