Although I posted about BABYLON’s oneman live just earlier today, I didn’t see the message on their OHP about their disbanding, and thanks for Sephie for pointing it out to me.
So, here it is:
Starting in 2004, for the past five years, BABYLON has been active, however, on June 28th at Takadanobaba AREA, after our oneman performance, we will be bringing down the curtain.
We are deeply grateful to all the fans who have been giving us so much support for such a long time. We only have a few lives remaining, however, as we will put all our effort into our final performance, we will be grateful if you can support us until the very end.

I have to say, I’m not surprised because after Misa left I felt like this would end up happening. It’s a shame though; they really were a good band.

BABYLON will be celebrating their 5th anniversary this June, with a oneman live called 『BABYLON~零~』~The last TRACKS~ (~Rei~), on June 28th at Takadanobaba AREA. The live costs 3000 yen to attend and general ticket sales begin April 26th.
They’re allowing fans to choose the songs they want to hear, so if you have a chance to go and want to submit you input, check out their OHP for the request form! They’re also accepting messages to the members (and former members) on the same form, so if you have something to say to them, head on over to fill it out.
Furthermore, former drummer Mikage, and guitarist Maya, will be making an appearance at this last live! BABYLON has done this in the past with former members, and I think it’s a really nice touch.

The show wsill be called 「No boundary of TABBO」 and tickets cost 3000 yen a piece. Priority ticket sales start on March 20th at Moran’s event, 「Morancholic vol. 7」 and regular tickets go on sale starting April 11th.

We haven’t heard much from BABYLON recently, and unfortunately, this news isn’t good.
Via their official mail magazine, they have announced that yesterday, guitarist ミサ (Misa) has left the band due to personal reasons. His decision to leave was a result of much consultation with the other members, and the band asks for the fan’s understanding.
Takuma, Sae, Haku and Ryouichi will continue on with the band, with their next performance at Nagoya ELL on the 22nd. This year marks five years of activity for the band, and they hope that everyone can continue to support them.

I can honestly say that out of all the members, Misa would have been one of the last ones I would ever think to leave the band. I’m pretty surprised by this news, but I hope that everyone can join me in wishing him the best.

Today they had that huge session band event at Shibuya O-WEST which we talked about here.
Even though it’s already over, they did add one more session band to the line-up that I thought fans would find interesting.
So, the members of the session band ended up being
Vocals – ラメ (Rame) from Vidoll
Guitar – 涼平 (Ryouhei) from Megamasso
Guitar – ミサ (Misa) from BABYLON
Guitar – ギル (Giru) from Vidoll
Bass – KISAKI of ex.Phantasmagoria
Drums – 俊~Shun~ from Arc
Looks like it would have been a fun event! There have been a lot of session bands playing as of late, so here’s my question to all the S-T readers.
Who would be in your dream session band?

Haku, the bassist for BABYLON, when asked about the makeup of his family says that he lives alone.
Aww, that sounds so sad. The other band members all talked about their grandparents, parents, siblings… but not Haku. In fact, Takuma said that his younger sister’s husband is a fisherman, and they have a child.
So, S-T readers, who makes up your family?
As for me, I’m like Haku. Alone.

Since we are on a roll with reporting blogs…might as well not break the routine. Anyways, Sae the guitarist of babylon opened his own blog. If you would like the check the out, click here. There is a big ass header of himself.

A new event live called “Around 30″ is happening on May 22nd at Shibuya O-EAST and it looks like it’ll be a lot of fun! The bands participating are Ayabie, Jully, Babylon, Mix Speaker’s,Inc., Moran and a secret band who will be announced on the 26th.
The live opens at 5:00 and starts at 6:00.
Tickets cost 4000 yen a piece or 4500 yen the day of at the door.

So, wanna start taking bets on who the secret band is?
And, I was wondering about the title of the event. The only thing I could come up with is that maybe most of the members of those bands are around thirty? Seems plausible.

Now as I’ve said numerous times before, I love this band. The band, of course, is バビロン (Babylon).
If you remember, it was announced in this post that their current guitarist, Maya, would be leaving the we posted here about their new singles and their oneman that’s coming up.
Now, along with updating with their newest look, they have posted a photo and the name of their newest guitarist, 冴 (Sae) who is featured to your left. The boys also have all undergone a costume change (not that theirs are ever too elaborate… but suits are hot) and you can check out their new style on their OHP. … Haku looks somewhat surprised in his photo, haha.
They’ll also be having a three-man live they’ll be having nearing the end of the month, on the 25th which is with ポワトリン (Poitrine). and 【_Vani;lla】.
If you want to know more about the band and hear some samples, make sure you check out the feature post on them.

Alright!
So I woke up this morning to find some awesome news! Remember a little while back when we announced here that 麻耶 (Maya) the guitarist for バビロン (Babylon) would be leaving the band? Then before that here, we posted that finally, after a what felt like a ridiculously long time, バビロン (Babylon) would be in and event on April 27th?
Well, those boys have been busy as of late!
First, their OHP has been completely renewed. It looks good! There aren’t any band photos up yet, and oddly enough they’ve left a blank space on the profile page for another guitarist… which I can only assume means they do have someone lined up. (Or why put that space there?)
Maybe not… maybe they’re just being overly prepared. But I guess we’ll find out soon.
They’ve also announced TWO new releases!
The first is a new single called 「No no sick 神風」 (No no sick Kamikaze) that’s scheduled to be released on May 14th. It will contain three tracks and cost 1890 yen.
The second, is a new ORIGINAL FULL ALBUM called 「想紅夜」(Soukou Yoru… that is totally a guess) that’ll come out on June 25th (hey, that’s my best friend and Grampy’s birthday, haha). That release will be 10 tracks and cost 3150 yen.
So we’ve got an OHP renewal, two releases and just when you think they’re done, they’ve announced two different oneman lives. The first takes place on June 7th and is to commemorate the release of 「No no sick 神風」 (No no sick Kamikaze) and バビロン (Babylon)’s reopening of activities. The live itself is called 「「明日なき明日はまだ止まず」 (Ashita naki Ashita wa mada Yamazu) and will be held at Takadanobaba AREA.
The second is at Shibuya O-WEST on July 18th and is it commemorate four years of activity for the band. This one is called 「我は天の下に我を創らず」 (Ware wa Amenoshita ni ware wo tsukurazu).
The fine details such as time and price will be released at a later date.
So it’s all very exciting! I’m so looking forward to new releases by them, it’s been a while since their last releases and they really are a talented band. If you’re interested and want to know more about them, check out the featured post done here.

麻耶 (Maya), the guitarist for バビロン (Babylon) has decided to leave the band. He said that he’s been thinking about various things for about half a year now, since Babylon stopped activities at their oneman at Shibuya O-EAST on April 22nd. This is the answer that in his own way, he has to face and that he’s once again going to walk down a new path.
He’s decided to try things like become a ‘band manipulator’, live DJ and track maker, however, he’s unsure if he’ll ever play guitar in a band again. He loves music and he loves life.
He also said that he won’t say, “Please support Babylon from here on!” as eventhough they’re on a different path, they’re his rival. He’ll appear in Babylon’s lives one more time, and then his time in the band will come to an end.
Source: OHP
Is it bad to say that I was waiting for this to happen? Babylon has been through… TONS of member changes, and have always bounced back strong, so I’m sure that will be the case this time around too. They’re one of my all-time favourite bands, and I’m kind of bummed to see Maya go because I did like him and I did think he fit in well, but regardless I wish him the best of luck.

I’ve been waiting to hear more before I posted and finally, it came.
バビロン (Babylon) after what seems like months of inactivity has finally announced (on their journal) that they’ll be participating in an event on April 27th at Shibuya O-EAST.
I’m really excited to know that they’ll be doing something, after all that inactivity! There were lots of rumours flying around that they were going to or even had disbanded, but thankfully that hasn’t happened. (Knock on wood)
If you’re unfamiliar with the band or want to know more, be sure you check out this post!
They’re one of my favourite bands and I highly recommend them. ^^
Anyways, want more details?
They’re actually playing in an event put on by another band I love, ガイズファミリー (Guy’s Family) called 「ガイズパーティー vol. 4」 (Guy’s Party vol. 4).
Like I said before, it’s on April 27th at Shibuya O-EAST and will open at 4:00 and start at 4:30. The price is 3500 yen for advance order tickets and 4000 yen bought on that day.
The cast is:
ガイズファミリー (Guy’s Family)
バビロン (Babylon)
ゾロ (Zoro)
姫苺 (Hime Ichigo)
chariots
Moran
CELLT
Bergerac
Looks like a great lineup! Tickets go on sale starting February 23rd.

For a long time I’ve wanted to start this … thing on the site, where we can random choose bands that we love and support to ‘feature’ and share with the readers. Kind of like a band profile. At the bottom of the profile is a rating… thing. So please rate the band (on a scale of one to five)!
So here we go! If you have any suggestions on what should be added or taken away, let me know! I’d like this to be a ‘thing’ on the site, so input is always appreciated.
The band I chose to start with is バビロン (Babylon). They’re one of my favourite bands and I feel that they’re not always recognized on the visual or even Japanese rock scene.
Basics
Japanese: バビロン [Babiron]
Label: TEMPLE Music Entertainment
OHP: http://www.baby-lon.net
VISUNAVI: http://www.visunavi.com/artist/preview.php?id=523
LJ Community: http://community.livejournal.com/knot_theory/
Fanlisting: http://fan.pink-spider.net/babylon/

Their newest members, drummer 良一 (Ryouichi) who was previously in otoiro and who they jokingly call “Good One” (Get it… the kanji for his name consists of the kanji for good, and the kanji for one) and guitarist 麻耶 (Maya) who previously was in 人格ラヂオ (Jinkaku Radio) and カラス天狗 (Karasu Tengu) both joined in May of 2006.
As of April 22nd 麻耶 (Maya) will be a former member of the band as he has decided to withdraw and try his hand in other areas of the music scene. More information on his departure can be found here. However, at the beginning of March they added their newest guitarist, 冴 (Sae) to their lineup.

Why I like them: They’re really are a talented band; speaking in both a musical and performance context. ミサ (Misa) is an absolutely amazing guitarist and you won’t find many guitarists on the visual scene who can even come close to him in talent. I feel like they have a good variation to their music, but there’s always that Babylon flare. I also really like listening to タクマ (Takuma)’s voice and 珀 (Haku) never fails to bring a smile to my face. He always seems so content. The atmosphere of the band is great; you can really tell they all work well together.
And at lives, they’re a lot of fun. Not to mention they sound great! Which… as much as I hate to say it, doesn’t really happen as often as you’d think. That’s not a criticism, but there are a lot of bands that have a huge gap in what they sound like on CD and what they truly sound like live. They have great audience interaction (moreso at oneman lives than at a taiban) and you feel like you’re actually part of the live. Besides, who couldn’t grin back when 珀 (Haku) smiles so widely!
I know I’m rambling like mad. But I have to say, their style is cool. (Come on, how can you not love suits?) They’re not overdone by any means, they all match, but at the same time each member has something that makes it their look. And the fact that タクマ (Takuma) wears these ridiculously low rise pants (that I swear involve shaving and duct tape) never hurt… or the fact that he randomly likes to take off his shirt for no apparent reason, which makes 珀 (Haku) make ths surprised, omgwtf put your clothing back on face. The fact that they’re all very nice also helps; they’re personable and they’re human. They don’t come off as a band who’s trying to prove something to you, they’re performing their music and that’s all there is to it.
Who couldn’t love a band whose members do this? (Click to enlarge)

I hope that you guys enjoyed this! And I’d love to hear your feedback on them if you’re a fan, or if you’re not. What you like or even don’t like about them plus any other thoughts of opinions related to the band.
And! DON’T FORGET TO RATE THEM!
Please don’t rate them without listening to anything first (that’s pretty unfair).

So there are these rumours that Takuma (タクマ) the vocalist of Babylon (バビロン) is working at a certain host club in Tokyo. (Okay, so it’s rumoured to be called AZUR).

Okay, so he does look pretty “hostly”, and it’s not unheard of for guys in bands to be working at host clubs as well. (I mean, Oji from 6R, for example worked (still works?) in one).
Anyways, I haven’t seen any proof of it actually being true, aside from a bunch of girls saying OMG HE WORKS THERE, DOES HE WORK THERE FOR REALZ!?
And I checked out the club’s site, which he’s not on. (You can find it here).
But hey, who knows, maybe he works in a different one.
So, how much would you pay for him?
