On November 5th, Aoi announced on his blog that he would be putting Ayabie on an indefinite hiatus. He also voiced various thoughts that came with his decision, and that on Christmas Eve, he would be doing one last live in which he would perform their songs.

To everyone who loves 彩冷える-ayabie-

It’s been a few months since Yumehito, Takehito, Intetsu, and Kenzo have left 「彩冷える-ayabie-」
While there have been various feelings bundled up within me, because I’ve been extremely busy everyday, I’ve had to think about it myself countless times over.

After the withdrawal announcement, after then more than anything, while looking for things I could do myself,
decisive action needed to be taken, and so to all the staff, I said the “fan club meeting”, and then the “fan club trip” were impossible.

With the emptying of my schedule came yet another one that I was forced to receive,
The fan club event and trip were suddenly forced into cancellation,
So for all the people who weren’t able to come, I want to express my sincerest apologies.

Also, because either events were limited only to the fan club,
I want to apologise to all the many people who wouldn’t have been able to participate.

Firstly, the fan club trip.
When we first started 「彩冷える-ayabie-」’s fan club 「donut spin」,
Although I verbally promised “let’s do a fan club trip”
I was really reluctant that I couldn’t honour that promise after all.
It might have been egotistical of me, but I really wanted to [honour it].

And then, the fan club meeting event.
I want to send the current me’s thoughts out toward you through 「彩冷える-ayabie-」’s songs,
To firstly say “I’m sorry” and “thank you”,
to have it go to the boundaries of the entire country, if it could.

To be honest, I was afraid.
I thought, how can just one person catch everyone’s emotions?
And on top of performing 「彩冷える-ayabie-」’s songs,
To sing on top of someone else playing our sound would have a different feeling, like singing karaoke.
Just thinking of standing alone on the stage felt out of place, lonely, scary.

However, because I chose this myself, I wanted with all my power to convey all these thoughts
And while filled with them, I sang. Thoughts of standing on a stage all by myself.
「1 person alone can’t sing in 彩冷える-ayabie-」
I carry the decision I made for 「彩冷える-ayabie-」 on my own shoulders.
However, I don’t in the least plan to bring in new members, and having said “it’s not that I want to sing alone”, I thought that the event should be done another time.

Nothing is impossible in the future.
Perhaps a someday might come, when those 5 people of 「彩冷える-ayabie-」
are able to play together again.
If at that time, we are able to continue activities, I have also thought
“Wouldn’t it be good to stop 「彩冷える-ayabie-」 as it is?” I also thought about disbanding.

However, as Yumehito, Takehito, Intetsu, and Kenzo have
not cut themselves from 「彩冷える-ayabie-」, having instead begun AYABIE,
I, too, still want to sing 「彩冷える-ayabie-」’s songs.
And so, while dreaming of “someday”, I’ve put 「彩冷える-ayabie-」 on an indefinite hiatus.

This might still make you sad. And I’m truly sorry. Since this music is what you all enjoy, isn’t it?
If I am the kind of singer who is capable of only cruel, sad thoughts,
There were times where I have even wondered – should I stop singing?
However, there are still things I want to say, songs I want to sing, as well as wishes for the future.
So, I thought that if I could still sing, I want to continue singing for as long as possible.

Although I can’t think clearly about just what kind of activities I will be doing from now on,
I think I’ll continue walking one step at a time at my own tempo.

This Christmas Eve, I’ve decided to do a live.
Even though I have always thought of this, when I sang at the fan club meeting events
For all the people who couldn’t participate because they were not fan club members
For the many voices that could not be heard, I’ll sing 「彩冷える-ayabie-」 songs for you one last time on this day.
To say that it’s “the last time” might seem a little wrong, doesn’t it? But I really mean that it’ll be the last time I’ll sing them alone.
Although I don’t yet know whether it will be karaoke or acapella, I wonder how many songs I should sing.
And for the words that weren’t able to be told, about the various things that happened this year,
Because I feel that I must tell you, I want to convey them to you in my own words.

Finally, to those of you who played alonside 「彩冷える-ayabie-」 – Yume, Takehito-kun, Intetsu-kun,
Kenzo, Ryouhei-kun, all of the staff, and of course all of you

Thank you, and I’m sorry. Although I had to make a decision alone,
This is my decision.
