Today we have certainly interesting project to introduce to you. It’s called 「kanon×kanon」 and it’s members indeed are cellist and vocalist Wakeshima Kanon and “Creator of Akiba kei”, Kanon of Antic Cafe. They are teaming up to make an opening song for Fuji TV anime 「屍鬼」 (Shiki).
The opening song「カレンデュラ レクイエム」 (Calendula Requiem) will be released as a single too on November 17th in three types. The limited edition with bonus DVD costs 1,500 yen and limited time edition 1,200 yen. Limited time pressing will have anime jacket and TV size version of the opening song. It will be sold only until the end of December 2010. Regular edition also costs 1,200 yen.
Tracklist for the single is as follows:

Kanon coming to Japan Expo

Kanon goes to “JAPAN EXPO 2010″ o(≧∀≦)o☆
Kanon is going to attend “JAPAN EXPO 2010″ in Paris, France from July 1st to 4th.
Besides the event (panel, autograph session), he will participate in the tea party of BABY, THE STARS SHINE BRIGHT as a guest.
He may also have a chance to visit some of Manga/Anime/J-pop culture shops in Paris city… ?!All his activities in Paris will be reported by Kanon himself later on.

New band for An Cafe’s Miku – Lc5

This is certainly great news for all Antic Cafe fans, since Lc5 is the new band of Miku! They had their first live on the 6th of June at Shinkiba STUDIO COAST. The members of the band are:
Vocal: miku || ex. レヴェリー (Reverie) [as 羽琉 (Haru)] → アンティック-珈琲店- (Antic Cafe) [as みく (Miku)]
Guitar: 夢時 (Yumeji) || ex. メロ (Mello) → RHYOLITE
Guitar: Reo || ex. plu’to → Clavier [as Dai] → ガイズファミリー (Guy’s Family) → Brother
Bass: Sato || ex. Diod’honneur→ メロ (Mello)
Drums: Aki || ex. plu’to → P*Route → GAM → ニンジャマンジャパン (Ninjaman Japan)
They will be holding a 2man tour with 葵 (Aoi) from 彩冷える (Ayabie) pretty soon, which will be entitled 「Live Crash ♯1」. The dates and venues are as follows:
July 7th @ Shinsaibashi CLUB QUATTRO
July 8th @ Nagoya CLUB QUATTRO
July 14th @ Shibuya CLUB QUATTRO
The tickets for each concert cost 4000 yen.

Kanon helps out with game

Kanon of Antic Cafe is producing a fun little game which is available for cell phone users. The game is called 『Pinky☆Distortion』and tells of a story of a young girl (you play as this character) who likes and works in the visual kei scene as a worker in a Harajuku studio. She stumbles on a new band called Dis;code and notices they do not have a singer!! So what does she do? She becomes their manager and tries to hire a vocalist. Thats the summary of the story line. What do you think…something that you would play?
On February 20th, KERA will be sponsoring an event with Kanon Wakeshima. Antic Cafe’s Kanon will also be there to talk about the game. You can go to the site for more game info.

This release is special as it contains a DVD with exclusive live performances and music videos which is expanded for the US version. With three full-length albums and three EPs under their belt, An Cafe continue to deliver the up-beat and colorful songs that their fans come to know and love.
BB Parallel World contains 11 tracks and features their latest single including NATSU KOI [star] NATSU GAME and MY [heart] LEAPS FOR “C”. Miku’s book

This is cool news for any fans of みく (Miku) from アンティック-珈琲店- (Antic Cafe)!
Miku has been doing a serial column in the magazine KERA, called 「可愛湯’s Яock レシピ」 (Kawayu’s Яock Recipe). Now, they have announced that they will be taking the columns and publishing them into a book which is tentaively called, 「可愛湯’s Яock レシピ AN CAFE みくのフォト＆エッセイ」 (Kawayu’s Яock Recipe AN CAFE Miku no Photo and Essay).
The book will cost 2300 yen, be A5 in size and contain 160 pages.
Along with his columns, there will be private shots, all the photos of Miku that appeared in KERA, and ‘other cuts’. There will be a section on his favourite personal effects, a long interview, and a how to do your makeup like Miku course.
There are also limited goodies for those who purchase the first editions, including a special comment DVD and original postcard. The first edition comes with a different cover than the regular edition.
The book can be ordered via mail order at An Cafe’s online store.

Y to the O to the what? I mean YO! Okay time to be serious and present to you guys the random fact of the day!
Kanon of Antic Cafe has admitted that when the band was still young he was picked on alot by the other members. He even asked them to ease up on the teasing on the Pick Up Artist interview only to have the members laugh at him and claimed that he liked it LOL poor Kanon!
But its healthy fun teasing!! The staff members of Shattered Tranquility often tease me as well! Who will defend my honor!!?!?

Best of album for Antic Cafe

At the end of August, we posted about Antic Cafe going on pause on January 4th.
On December 9th, the band will be releasing a best of album, which is yet to be titled. The cost will be 3465 yen, and it will feature a compilation of their never before released songs, sold out songs, and single songs.

Antic Cafe goes on pause

Antic Cafe have announced that after their performance on January 4th at Nippon Budoukan, they will be going on an activity pause.
They have said that the five members had numerous discussions about it, and decided that this is currently the best option and necessary for both the members and staff to fulfill their desire to “step up”.
After the Nippon Budoukan live, the members will continue to individually pursue their own activities, and work towards the day when Antic Cafe can make their return.
