Dir en grey will be releasing a DVD of their gigs which they did at the Tokyo Nippon Budokan stage on the 9th and 10th January 2010. It is to be released simultaneously in 17 different countries, whilst the British Rock magazine ‘KERRANG’ rated these gigs with 5 K’s (5 out of 5 stars).

It will be entitled 「UROBOROS -with proof in the name of living…- AT NIPPON BUDOKAN」and go on sale on the 26th of May. The details, such as the price and the tracklist, to follow later.

The band has also put out a photo booklet called 「OUROBOROS」, which has been on sale as of February and costs ¥6,000 which you can purchase from their official online shop here.

Coupling single for R-Shitei and Lycaon

Now that sounds interesting ! It appears that Lycaon and R指定 will release a coupling single for a short period of time : from April 20th to May 5th ! Indeed, it will only be available during the lives they will perform for their coupling tour :

April 23rd : Sendai HooK
April 29th : Nagoya Heart Land
April 30th : Okayama CRAZY MAMA 2nd room

Very surprising fact, they also have two lives in Okinawa ! That’s very rare to see VK bands going there !

the fool 2nd Maxi Single

The fool are releasing a new maxi single after half a year! It’s entitled “Go motherfucker” and goes on sale May 12th, but will be available for presale at live venues after April 29th.

Here is what they say about the upcoming single:

Half a year after their previous release [Hydra], the ever-growing monsters return with an even louder roar. The aggressive pop sound of the title track, [Go motherfucker], captures the strength that symbolizes [the fool] in its current state while conveying a positive message. The other tracks, [Another sky] and [GETTING UNITED], could be called glimpses at the broad world view characterizing [the fool]’s new lot in life. They have also taken the challenge of recording a remix of the title track [Go motherfucker], creating a diverse collection of sounds and making this a noteworthy release.

The tracklist, as they said is as follows:
1. Go motherfucker
2. Another sky
3. GETTING UNITED
4. Go motherfucker crazy’s remix

It’ll cost ￥1500 (tax in), it’s limited to 1000 copies, and each CD comes with a bonus trading card (1 of 4 types).

Kiwamu added 2 more bands to the new label’s line up! First off he officially moved Suicide Ali over to the new label, up until now they were featured with Darkest Labyrinth. He signed on Calmando Qual and a disbanded band called Variable Messiah. Reason for Variable Messiah to be featured on Starwave Records, is that the label is releasing a best of for the band! Show casing their songs from 2000-2004. The release comes out on May 12th.

Variable Messiah is a disbanded band that was around from 2000 to 2004 and the members include Goshi and Hiroshi of Suicide Ali, Tachi ex project EDEN, Hiroki ex Oto-oni, and Aki ex 73shiki. They are also having their one day revival which we talked about over here.

MUCC’s new single for Anime Opening

MUCC’s new single 『約束』 (yakusoku), which will be released in June as Inka mentioned here, is going to be used as the opening theme for the Anime 『閃光のナイトレイド』 (senkou no NIGHT RAID).

It is said that 『約束』 “holds the views that MUCC has and the views that the Anime portrays which synchronize with each other, and along with the combination of strings [orchestra] it puts across a complex yet obvious message, and is a musical masterpiece.”

The Anime will be aired in April 2010, which gives us a chance to preview MUCC’s single before its release!

A bit more than a month after 「明鏡止水」 (Meikyou Shisui) has been released, 己龍 (Kiryu) has announced that they would soon be releasing their 4th maxi-single ! Entitled 「水無桜」 (Minazakura), it will go on sale on June 23rd so we still have quite some time before we can actually get our hands on it, but we already have most details.

Details on the Darling’s first single

Back in January, we told you about the Darling releasing its very first single on March 30th. We now have more details to give you.

The single will be entitled 「失恋MIRUFI-YU」 (Shitsuren ; and for those who wonder what MIRUFI-YU means it’s actually just a bad transcription of the French word Millefeuilles). As I told you before, it will go on sale for their sponsored event on March 30th, but the actual release date is April 14th.

It will cost1050 yen and contain 2 tracks, as follows :

Back in November, I told you that Ocelot was changing its name to become LOST ASH.

Well it seems the guys have finally decided release their first maxi-single ! Entitled 「superNOVA」, it will go on sale on April 14th and will cost 1500 yen for 4 tracks. You’ll have to be lucky to get a copy as it will be limited to 500 copies !

To promote this first single, the band will also sponsor an event on the same day at HOLIDAY Shinjuku.

Valentine will disband

Although they’ve recently announced that they would release two new singles, ヴァレンタイン (Valentine) will apparently disband soon after…

After a final one-man on April 27th at Fukuoka DRUM-SON, the band will cease to exist. The members will apparently explain the reason(s) of their choice during this one-man. It seems they’re currently recording a new song that will probably be given out during the one-man and which will be their final song.

KYOKUTOU GIRL FRIEND’s first full album second press

There was an earlier post of the band’s first full album release here.

Following the release of the the first edition CD, selling out at a rapid speed, it has been officially decided today to hurry and make more prints of the album, coming out with a normal edition of「勝手にしやがれ」 (Katte ni Shiyagare). Release date will be on February 24th, 2010. The CD will also cost 3,150 yen as the previous edition and be limited to 1000 more copies. The CD will come with a band comment CD, original band member autograph card, and a band member photo card as the original print. Normal edition comes with a case, new 24-page photo booklet, and a photo sticker.

GPKISM & Luzmelt: new songs uploaded

First off, Luzmelt has a new song called Loop Stream uploaded on their myspace that everyone should check out. After listening to all of their samples I really think this is a band to keep an eye on.

Another song that is newly uploaded is the duet everyone is talking about! Angelus – a duet with Ken (GPK) and Selia (Seileen). Check out GPKISM’s myspace for a taste. What do you guys think of the new songs?

Also, GPKISM and Seileen will be kicking off their coupling tour end of the month with a live event called LIVE INN ROSA -Classic Alamode 02-. XIII FILE Vol.1

THIRTEEN MUSIC has announced that they would release an omnibus entitled 「XIII FILE Vol.1」. Limited to 3000 copies, it will go on sale on February 17th for 2415 yen. But there’s something really special about this new omnibus : two famous disbanded bands are participating ! Indeed, we’ll have the chance to hear a re-recording of 「True」 by Deflina Ma’riage and a rare song by ElDorado called 「ノスタルジア」 (Nostalgia) !

News from dizSolid

Good news for those of you who are interested in dizSolid ! After they’ve gained a new member back in September, it seems the band has decided to clutch up a gear in 2010. Indeed the band has recently announced that they would be distributing their first demo 「After the Pain」 for one month (from January 1st to January 31th) during their lives or in Like an Edison shop. You can already listen to a sample on their OHP.

Varbarossa

After a few disbanding announcements, I thought I should also introduce a new band because it’s always better to look forward to look forward to a new band than to see a band we liked disband.

So here you go for the new band, this one is called Varbarossa and they’re officially starting their activities today with a first live at Sendai HooK ! But, the truth is that the guys were already acting as a secret band since August 2009 after 望-nozomi- and 渚-nagisa- have decided to form a new band after Vanish’s disbandment (not the recently introduced Vanish). But they’ve decided to lift the ban and become a full-fledged band on January 1st.

I don’t really know why, but they kind of remind me of LAYZis ! The costumes are quite similar and the single’s cover really looks like something LAYZis could do as well. They’ve already released their first single so I wonder what it’s going to be…
