Even though exist†trace doesn’t have a fan club, did you know they recently started a fan community? And what’s better — it’s free! Originally, to sign up for the community, “VANGUARD”, fans had to go to a live and request a membership card at the merchandise booth, but the band has made it so members can also register online. Online registration has a ￥700 yen fee for handling charges (that means so they can mail the card to you!).
Membership is limited to residents of Japan, but it makes sense since the main function of the community is to get priority tickets to their shows.

 

With their fanbase growing overseas, who knows what the future might bring!

Did you that Sophia of BLOOD STAIN CHILD has a brother named Thomas that plays in a band called Nocturnal Vomit? And apparently she went to one of his shows last night! Isn’t that just cute?! She linked to a youtube video of one of her brother’s older shows in a tweet just recently and here it is ( Thomas is the guitarist and vocalist):
Do you guys know of any other rockers that have siblings in the music industry too?

Are any of you familiar with the Golden Globe Awards show? Well guess which rocker has composed the theme song for the Golden Globe Awards this year? That’s right, it’s Yoshiki from XJapan! Let’s take a look at one of his recent tweets, shall we?☆

Yoshiki has released a little snippet of the song which is below:

 

Yoshiki stated that he wanted to create a beautiful yet edgy theme that fit the edginess and prestige of the Golden Globe Awards. Originally the song came out to be eight or so minutes, but the show only needs two minutes, so the song will be cut down quite a bit. What a shame! Maybe a full version will be released somewhere.

If you want to watch the Golden Globe awards it is on January 15th, which is this Sunday, at 8:00PM-11:00PM EST. Anyone planning on watching?

Hello everyone! How many of you know of Pocky Day? Well, Pocky Day in Japan is basically like another Valentine’s day, except you send your friends and loves boxes of Pocky instead of chocolates and roses!

It’s held annually on 11/11. Since this year is 2011, apparently the 11/11/11 made people a little more crazy over the holiday. The fun little holiday is actually more popular in Korea (it’s known as Pepero Day there), but it has a little bit of recognition in Japan as well. And guess which one of our rockers celebrates, or at least recognizes Pocky Day? It’s Kifumi of BORN! He actually tweeted about it♪

Pocky Day! Treat me favorably today as well!

So, have any of you received or given any pocky? Big Ern here received a whole bunch of pocky!!! I think I have enough to last me the whole year!

Have you guys missed me? I have been in an Alien mood. I watched Alien and Species movies all weekend! I started to really like the art of H.R. Giger! You know who else was a fan of the artist? hide – he even had Screaming Mad George create a mask based on H.R. Giger’s WATCHGUARDIAN V sculpture for his cover art for Hide Your Face!!!

For those who don’t know, Scream Mad George (real name Joji Tani) is a very famous make up and FX artist who has worked in many famous horror flicks including Predator and Faust Poster. He also fronted the deathmetal band: The Mad. Amazing work! If you could have something designed by your idol – what would it be?

Collabration project between visual kei and fashion/jewellery brands are quite common actually, but today I’m going to present one that actually is quite interesting. Peace Now has worked with many visual artists – even 仙台貨物 (Sendai Kamotsu)! The design of the shirts even includes also Hello Kitty.

ex-Dolly Yuina has a new band! And guess with who!

Tsukasa of ex-Bis and Yuuta of ex-Megamasso!!

Their name is World Wrap Word and they will start official band activities in 2012. by being a side act to DAMIJAW on their live on 10th of March, which is a part od DAMIJAW’s “Be with You!!!!!” tour around Japan!

World Wrap Word formed in September, but as I mentioned, they won’t be doing any activities until next year.

Are some of you as excited as I am?

Today’s random fact is about 8 of VOICE and his funny, yet very touching blog post about his favorite anime. Apparently his favorite anime is Cooking Papa, a series that ran from 1992 to 1995, so as he is obviously not able to follow it on TV anymore, 8 uses youtube to watch it. But it seems that all the episodes were deleted from youtube and it deeply hurt him. This part of his blog post is so sad and touching, yet so funny for some reason.

Though we may regard our precious rockers very highly, in reality, they’re just like us and do things we do! For example, they play social games too. A particularly popular social browser game in Japan is Pigg.

Can anyone guess who’s Pigg this belongs to?If you haven’t the slightest clue, or can’t read the Japanese text above his name, maybe looking at another one of his outfits might help.

If you haven’t figured out by now, this is Pigg belongs to Mao of SID! Isn’t it cute? It looks just like him! Sometimes you can actually meet him in the Pigg world, awesome, huh?!

So guess which one of our lovely rockers owns an Olympus Pen E-P1 camera like this?!

Yup, Intetsu of AYABIE has a camera just like this, and if you take a look at the pictures he puts up on his twitter, you can tell that he enjoys using his camera very, very, very much! His photography is pretty good too!

It’s interesting to learn of our j-rocker’s hobbies. Know any other rockers who are interested in photography? Or are you yourself interested in it?

Personally, being the pimp I am, I prefer having cameras pointed at me rather then pointing the camera myself!

Let’s talk about pets today. While back Adrienne told about Signal’s second release, and Ernie went check their blogs – bassist SHION surely had something interesting there!

Would you like these as your pets too?

In one entry SHION said that he got total of 6 beetles, but sadly one of them died soon after that.

Today’s fact is about ZORO! Do you remember when Mija wrote about their comeback live? It is successfully over, but do you want to know who were the support members?

Well…

Teruki (An Cafe) and Ketch (ex-KYOKUTOU GIRL FRIEND)!
They are still searching for new members or supports, so unfortunately it seems that these two won’t join the band officially.

Anyway – ZORO also has released new single 「POLICE」 during our hiatus, and here is official preview of the PV.

How are you guys today? Ernie remembered interesting fact about Miyavi, so let’s get started again!

Remember when we talked about Miyavi working with Good Charlotte? He has been teaming up with bands from other countries again! Just a little time ago he was an opening act for 30 Seconds to Mars Japan tour. The singer Jared Leto even shared the following “Me and Miyavi pretty much naked in my dressing room… ;) ” -picture with us.

Miyavi also made a guest appearance on a CD. Finnish band Lovex released their album “Watch Out!” in Japan on July 6th, and it has bonus track featuring Miyavi, re-make of their radio single “U.S.A.”.

Which band you’d want to see working with him next?

It’s time to talk about Twitter again. As we know, many bandmen have opened their accounts and started sharing interesting details of their daily lives there. Or something else. 咲人 (Sakito) from ナイトメア (NIGHTMARE) also started tweeting back in March – to pass news about the disaster in Miyagi then.

In the end of September Sakito appeared on his followers’ timelines, but this time he was traveling – in India! Sadly he tweeted before going back to Japan, that he wasn’t able to learn yoga during his short stay.

You can follow Sakito here in the case he starts tweeting again.

Can you tell me who is the lovely girl in the middle? Does she look familiar? It is Kanon Wakeshima! Today’s fact is about side projects.

The other day Kanon put on her 19th live but under the project name: “The Strange Treat”, this was their debut. She talked about the concept and live in her blog.

It’s a show where I came up with a concept from scratch and decided to do all the things that I wanted to do and express up until now. There were some parts that didn’t go the way I wanted, but overall it was a fun experience! I wrote “The strange treat!” for this show.

This time I wrote with the intention of creating music that was more fun and “tasty.”

One of the fun things about visual bands is that they always have a wide variety of goods for sale, no matter how big or small they are.

Speaking of goods, (that was a great introduction, huh?), Umi from vistlip recently posted photos of the band’s new towels in his blog! It seems that he got the samples in the mail and the towels will be available for sale at lives soon!

Umi said, “The colors are awesome and eccentric”. Do you agree?
