Do you remember when we have written about MiU’s vocalist literally running away? Well, the remaining member, Shino, has decided to put the band on the indefinite pause. This is what he wrote in his blog:

Thanks to those who came to our gig, as always.

It has been decided that MiU will go on an activity pause.

Of course, it’s not what we intended.

I’d been taking part in the band without even thinking about activity pauses or disbandings, so when people around me ask, “Now this has happened, what are you going to do?”, all I can honestly say at the moment is, “I don’t know”.

I’d been so busy with practising how to play the guitar and sing at the same time, as well as re-arranging all our songs on the 7th, so I hadn’t had the time to think about it.

Now things have calmed down, I’ll begin to think about it.

It might not even be something to think about.

I’m definitely not going to sit around by myself, not sure of what to do.

Even if there are times when I’m hurt, when I feel pain or when I want to throw everything out the window, I will use my will power to keep moving forward.

I won’t blame anyone.

I believe that the “tomorrow” [future] I have chosen is bright.

It’s probably nothing to over exaggerate about; it’s simple.

As my thoughts have not come together yet, I will keep updating this blog.

I might continue to update with pointless entries, but I hope you will continue to support me.

Also, thank you for your letters, comments and messages.

From now on, I will face myself and the music, and keep moving on without any regrets.

First of all some good news. The band will be featured in UNDERCODE PRODUCTION KISAKI’s selection omnibus CD, entitled 「Cure NEW AGE COLLECTIONS」which will go on sale with the Cure magazine on the 21st of April.

However, there are some bad news as well. Six Bullet’z went on activity pause on the 27th, according to the statement on their OHP:

Due to the drummer yu-ya’s situation at his home,
there has been difficulties in continuing our current activities,
and so it had been decided that we, Six Bullet’z, will be going on an activity pause
after the Butterfly Effect sponsored event entitled『リアプノフ指数』(Lyapunov Shisuu) on 27th February at the MESSE HALL in Sapporo.

Since Des’segnay, we have worked together for many years,
but as the reasoning for the pause is due to circumstances at home [for a certain member],
it can not be solved within the members ourselves, and it was with great regret that this decision was made.

After taking part in 「極北ノヲト」 (Kyokuhoku no Oto) last autumn, recieving such an offer from Cure,
as well as other great news, all of us members were ready to advance and continue moving forward,
but now we do not know how to feel.

We hope to put our all in our gig on the 27th February at the Sapporo MESSE HALL,
so please come and see us!

CLIPPER will be going on activity pause after their last sponsored event on the 2nd of April, which will take place at Takadanobaba AREA. The event will be called 「Spring Memory」 and other bands participating in it are CLUB PRINCE and REIGN. The tickets cost 2500 in advance and 2800 on the day of the event. ]

Anyway, no official announcement about the decision was given as far as I’m concerned – I have found only the notice about the fact on both OHP and the official blog.

A while ago, we posted about the one day revival live that ラジオ体操 (Radio Taisou) is going to have in March.

Back in January, Kasumi, who is now a solo artist but was previously the vocalist for SMILE and Radio Taisou, posted the following entry in his blog regarding his break from musical activities.

Please note that he has not said anything about completely retiring from the music industry. He’s a student, he has a job and he’s a musician… that all has to pile up at some point and become quite hard to handle.

Regarding My Activity Pause
Ahh.
I’ve plunged into my university testing week.
It’s a week from hell.

After listening to Radio Taisou and SMILE songs, I keep wondering if I should practice… (sweat)

Things from my behind the scenes job have also piled up. To everyone concerned, I’m really sorry.
Also, I gotta write five new songs. Unrelated to that, I also have ten new sets of lyrics to write and singing to record.

Just as I thought, it’s pretty impossible to be a student, have a job and be a musician all at the same time.

I’m sorry, but after March 23rd, I’m taking a break~ (sweat)
As you can expect, I’m really tired (Laughs)
But for now, don’t use the word “retire”!

I’m sorry to all the fans of the “on stage Kasumi”.

Even though I started “Radio Taisou”, it seems like this time it’s just going to be a one night thing (laughs)

At any rate, I’ll do my best until March!!!!

On February 19th, Kasumi posted the following in his blog on the same subject:

Anyhow, you gotta keep going without any breaks.
If you stop, you’ll lose out to someone else.
Therefore, you gotta keep moving forward.

Right now, that’s how I feel.

Not only am I looking forward to March 23rd, but it’ll probably become a live where I’ll give some insight into what I’ve decided, and what my style will be in the future.

“Activity Pause” is what seems to be the normal way of saying it, but as far as being a person goes, I don’t have any plans to ”stop”.

Rather, more… even more than when I was in SMILE, I want to do things flashy and intense.
Only it’s temporarily physically impossible for me to do a live anytime soon, and I’ve been talking about changing my style.

My plans to move forward haven’t changed.

From here on, I’m going to speed up.
Seriously.

For the time being, I just have to work on getting my credits.

THE CRISIS have announced that they will be going on an activity pause after their live on February 10th.

They have posted the following announcement on their OHP:

An Important Announcement from THE CRISIS

Thank you for continuing to support THE CRISIS.
As the current members believe it is impossible to continue on with band activities at this time, we have decided to go on an activity pause after our live on February 10th at Shinjuku RUIDO K4.

We don’t have a lot of time left, however, the members will fight their hardest until the very end, so we hope that you too can continue to cheer us on until the last moment.

ルーシー (Lucy) have announced that on March 30th they will be going on an activity pause.

So far the only one to write in their blog about it is Taisuke, and this is what he had to say.

We told you this today, but after our live on March 30th, Lucy will be going on an activity pause.

We currently have two lives left, so we hope that you’ll show you’re support.

There’s a chance that [the number of lives we have left] may increase, but for now, we have two planned.

I’m going to give you a rough idea [about our decision].

It’s hard to talk about, so I’m sorry i you feel uncomfortable.

I’m in this band for the sake of myself, and for the sake of the band. I’m not in it for everyone else’s sake.

We’re in a band for ourselves, and it’s taken on the form of a dream.

Besides, if you look at it, I think that the fans who come to the lives come because they think we look good.

On the contrary, if you can’t identify with us, don’t come to the live… I don’t care.

It’s not something that’s necessary for being a fan.

Although I guess practically everyone is like that.

I guess that’s how I feel.

However, it’s hard for your dreams to take shape!

It’s been about three years since we started our activities, and we’ve done this and that to make the dream closer, but it’s not really getting closer at all.

And there have been times where it’s become more distant. (Laughs)

Lately, we’ve gotten closer to it, but we’re not completely there.

Honestly, I feel really strongly that I don’t want to do lives where our dream is out of reach from it.

Putting it simply, it’s like you don’t plan to make bad tasting food or food that’s not great, but not bad… just normal.

You want it to be like, “THIS IS DELICIOUS!!”.

If it’s not delicious, you don’t want to serve it at a restaurant.

Because of course, I think that if a restaurant prepares their food half-assed, it’s just going to be embarrassing.

Until the restaurant can make and serve delicious food, they close down for a bit.

It’s okay if you don’t understand.

You can give us your understanding, but if you don’t, that’s okay too!

In the end, our values and our tastes are probably different. (Laughs)

We hate it when we do lives when we know that we could have done better, and because that is something that’s unacceptable we’ve decided to go on an activity pause.

As I kept writing, it got harder and harder to understand… (Laughs)

Please understand that this is a positive decision, and that this activity pause is not for limiting our dream, but for coming closer to it.

So that we can have no regrets…

At the beginning of the month, we talked about Megaromania’s new release and oneman tour.

The band has announced that this release and tour will be the last with the current line-up and that they will be going on a brief activity pause.

Each member has posted comments on Visunavi regarding their decision.

Vocals – Sui

Since we’ve formed, we’ve been going non-stop, however, as a result of crashing into barriers that are currently too high to surpass, we have decided that after our oneman show on March 31st at Shibuya BOXX, our activities with our current members will come to an end.

Now that we have made our decision and the announcement, I’ve been thinking about how much we can do with the little time that we have left, how much we’ll be able to do, and if the members will be able to show their maximum appeal. I want to participate in the 3 Day event, and from the members, pack our first [Tokyo, Nagoya, Osaka] oneman [tour] with feelings of gratitude, making each of our stage performances the perfect fire.

We’re recording our selection album, 「Oblivious」, which is coming out on March 10th and the new song, 「Oblivious」 is something that will hopefully show Megaromania’s potential to its fullest.

Of course, if you listen to both our old music and new music, I’ll be happy.
Megaromania will be going on a brief activity pause, however, I promise that we will meet again.

Even though there’s just a short amount of time left, I hope that all of our believers can see the five of us on stage until the end.

Guitar – Misery

On March 10th, our selection album will on sale and will be the last release with our current line-up.

We have completed out new song, 「Oblivious」, which is a magnificent track that appropriate for the future Megaromania.

The members have selected songs from our past, which are crammed with everyone’s memories.

We only have a bit of time left before March 31st, and I hope that on our last event tour and oneman tour in Tokyo, Osaka and Nagoya, everything that the five of us have made, will be burned into our believer’s minds.

The things that we have done together have each been important, and I’ll keep going strong until the very end.

Guitar – Chikage

I’m sure there are a lot of people who were surprised by out announcement that there’s only a little amount of time left with the current line-up.

As far as a turning point goes, the new song that we’ve recorded for our album that’s coming out on March 10th, 「Oblivious」, is a song that shows the infinite potential for Megaromania’s future.

In reality, it’s also the last piece of work the current members will release [together], we as it was recorded with a special feeling to it, I definitely want you to listen to it.

Even though after our oneman tour in March our activities with this line-up will be over, we still have a lot of things left to do.

There are only a few lives to go, and I don’t know how much of our strength will show through, but I hope that all of you who come have high hopes.

Bass – Hyoga

We’ve decided that at the end of March, our activities with the current members will be over, and even I still can’t really believe it.

It feels like the five of us will be doing music forever, and it like we’re all one.

However, while we’re going through our decisions and making our choices, we have to move forward.

Our believers will wait for us and believe in us.

For the label and those connected to the band who have been supporting us with all their might, and above all for the member’s Megaromania, we have made our decision.

This is for the sake of the five of us, and while steadily looking towards tomorrow, we will face forward.

For a short time, Megaromania will be going on an activity pause, however, we still have a lot more growing and evolving to do, so we’ll be returning to the scene.

However, we don’t have time right now to think about the past…

I want to put my all into the important time that the five of us have left together.

Please burn into your hearts the memories from our last oneman tour, and the last piece of work, 「Oblivious」 that these five members have created.

This is the answer for what lies ahead for Megaromania.

Drums – Leda

Our live on March 31st at Shibuya BOXX will be the last performance for the current line-up.

There are lots of things that I’ve been thinking about, but I’ve been eagerly carrying on, and I can’t think of anything but showing you our best form on stage.

I don’t know how many of our oneman shows you’ve seen before, but with no exceptions, let’s make these ones the best.

The band will go on hiatus for a short time, however, Megaromania will change and evolve, so I hope that you can continue to keep your eye on us.

SINCREA members have just announced through their respective blogs that they would soon be on a hiatus. Only two months remain before the band enters in an activity pause after their one-man on March 28th at Takadanobaba CLUB PHASE.

All the members have posted comments about their decision. And all in all, it seems they’ve been wanting to take a break for quite some time already because they want to think about what they want to do and express through their music once more. They also say that they’ll come back as soon as they find the answers to the their hesitations.

One good thing to balance with this sad announcement, the band has put a new song called 「RED」 on free download. But the problem is that it’s only available for people living in Japan through dwango.jp.

THE EIGHT have posted a following announcement at their blog not so long ago:

THE EIGHT (√eight), who have been continued on with their activities since their formation on August 15th, 2004, have decided that after their performance on January 17th to go on an indefinite activity pause. This is the decision we reached after considering what’s best for the futures of all the members. To everyone who has been cheering us on, to our many fans, and to all those connected with the band who were are indebted to, we have to offer our deepest apologies. We are truly sorry for causing this trouble. Although all of the members have varying forms, this decision was made for the sake of the great music that we’ve made thus far. We hope that you are able to understand our decision.

妖艶なる園、崩壊シタ世界。 (Youen Naru En, Houkai Shita Sekai.) have announced that on January 9th, they will not only be losing their guitarist Kakyou, but they will be going on an activity pause.

The band has posted the following announcement on their OHP:

Although this is unexpected, on January 9th our Kakkyou has decided to leave the band due to personal reasons.

Blast a skize have announced that they will be going on an activity pause after their performance on January 31st at CYBER COUNTDOWN ‘09 – ‘10.

The reason for the pause is so that the band can grow, and make a fresh return. They do plan to come back next year, and hope that fans will continue to support them.

ARAUNE have announced that on December 17th, atfter their live at Shibuya O-West, they will be going on an activity pause.

The members have written about it in their blogs, all stating ARAUNE will come back and that the activity pause is a chance for them to hone their skills, and ‘power up’. They are unsure when the band will be back, but they hope that fans will continue to support them upon their return.

Sadly it seems their live at Ikebukuro CYBER on December 2nd, was guitarist Neo’s last live with the band. There is a message up on the site stating that it was talked over between members and they want people to understand this is a positive move forward. They are sorry this was so last minute and sudden news but they want fans to continue their support.

The band will be on pause due to Neo’s departure.

I guess we wait and see if they replace him or what will be the next chapter with the band…

Those are minor bands, it probably won’t affect much people but I thought it might be interesting for some of you.

5 months after their first live, -Ashed- will disband on November 27th.
DELTA had its last live on November 8th.
滅我髏首領 (Megarodon) will not disband, but they will enter in an activity pause after their sponsored event on December 6th, for an indeterminate amount of time.

Oh man, some more bad news with another beloved performer. TOSHI seems to be suffering from intercostal nerve pain and has canceled his instore events and suspend live activities until further notice. Actually TOSHI’s myspace was updated with this message last week:

Thank you for your concerns about me.
I am resting now because of intercostal neuralgia.
For these 10 and several years till now,
I have been suffering from false fabrications by vicious lawyers, reporters and those who have come to me trying to exploit me, and have been bashed by the media. I feel so painful to see my dear wife, WANKU and my colleagues and the children who once were taken away due to a suspicion of child abuse by us are suffering so much.
That’s the reason why I am suffering from this bodily pain.
Even the court believed the lies and false reports of those malicious people,
and they have made crazy judgements. That’s too awful!
How come such unjust and dirty things are going on?!
I went to a trial recently,
and I felt so painful in my heart on the spot
to see my dear friends were having a hard time there.
It was so cruel, so painful.
I will never forgive those vicious fellows
who make use of the media and
trick me with every frame-ups.

He seems to be very upset and in pain…in more than one way. The newest post is about Toshi’s wife and producer taking his place at some performances.

However, for some events taken place in Kumamoto, Kyushu in the beginning of this month, WANKU (TOSHI’s wife and a duet partner) and MASAYA (TOSHI’s producer and composer) substituted for TOSHI. This movie was taken at one of those events where MASAYA sang “Ai no uta wo utaitai -I want to sing a love song” which MASAYA composed for TOSHI more than 10 years ago.

DIS★Marionette had a couple of announcements at their recent live.

First and foremost, they announced that on January 15th, hisana, 真純 (Masumi) and 達也 (Tatsuya) would all be leaving the band. Due to their departure, DIS★Marionette will go on a temporary activity pause.

In the site’s blog, Gene specifically states that the reason for the member’s leaving is not that there’s any trouble between them personally, but that after numerous discussions, they felt that this was the way to go. Gene will continue on with the band, because he feels that leaving it now will be leaving it half-finished, which is something he does not want to do. He also says that he will persist to find new members, so that together they can take that next step. He feels that he can’t properly express what he wants, but that his explanation will have to do.

At the end he wrote that he isn’t going to say, ‘please cheer us on until the end’, because he hates those types of words. He will not change, and will continue on with the band, and says that his happiest time is seeing his fan’s smiling faces.

On the plus side, the band will be releasing a best of album on January 20th and will be sponsoring an event of January 15th at Takadanobaba AREA called 『Marionette P.R.E.Y.house Chapter★05』. Further details on both will be available in the middle of November.

MELLO has announced that they will be going on an indefinite activity pause after their oneman show on December 15th at SHIBUYA BOXX.

The message on their OHP reads as follows:

We are honoured and deeply grateful for the support you have shown us in the past.
We have an important announcement for everyone.

After the last of our scheduled lives this year, we have decided to put a seal on the band’s activities (in short, an activity pause).

We’ve been looking towards the next year and making various adjustments, but as a result of the respected stance of each member’s desired direction and musicianship, we have decided to ’seal’ the band.

We will soon be meeting our last moments [as MELLO], and will be blessed if you can support us until the end.

Once again, the band’s last live is on December 15th at SHIBUYA BOXX. It is titled:

ヒバリ (Hibari) has announced they would go on an activity pause after their live at Urawa Narciss on November 19th.

The members explain that they want to take a break to think about the path the band should follow, and they apparently won’t come back before they’ve all agreed on the decision to take.
