vidoll-goes-on-pause

Vidoll have announced that after their performance on September 18th, they will be going on an activity pause.

Jui posted the following entry in his blog.

Everyone

I’m sorry.

I told one lie

to all of you.

I’m really sorry.

Since the spring of last year,

I was feeling some pain in my left vocal chords.

I wasn’t able to hit that falsetto that I’m so proud of.

Then, during our summer tour last year,

it became obvious,

and it was really, really tough,

I forgot how to sing.

I thought that I had to do it, no matter what,

so I went to the hospital

and they gave me some strong medication.

Throughout our long tour, with twenty stops,

Sometimes, everyone’s concerns, worries and encouragement

ended up changing

into this huge pressure on me.

But, I’m a professional, so I had to keep doing my best.

That’s what I told myself.

So at the very least, I could my best to sing,

I stopped talking,

I stopped singing,

until the very last moment, I’d rest my body.

I ended up being depressed on my own.

Before long,

autumn turned into winter, and the seasons passed,

and during that time the pain still hadn’t gone away,

and I become more and more stressed.

In February of this year, when we were rehearsing for Shun’s birthday event,

even though I had done a pretty good job at resting my voice,

I still couldn’t do that falsetto.

When I went to the hospital,

the told me, “you have a big blod clot”,

and upon hearing what they had to say, I was honestly shocked.

But, in my blog,

I lied, and said

“My throat is doing fine, and I’ve recovered”.

I am truly sorry.

Now I’m at the point where if I don’t use an inhaler, I can’t sing properly.

On this past tour, I couldn’t sing in Sendai and in Kashiwa,

Something would happen, like I’d lose my inhaler, or it’d break

And without the steroids, my voice would wear out.

Lying like that, and being on stage, I felt irritated with myself,

and being overrun with emotions, there were tears, and anger,

and I took it out on you, who have nothing to do with it.

I can’t do any long tours.

Without earphones, I can’t sing at all.

After a 30 minute event, I’ve reached my limit.

I hate lying about this [and won't anymore].

I’ve decided to take some time off to get treatment.

I’ll be having surgery.

In this past year and a half,

I thought over and over that maybe, I should stop singing.

I feel like God,

has come to me and said,

“You have to stop singing”.

But, I’ve had this dream since middle school,

and at least, little by little, with you and the members that dream is coming true…

I can’t think any other work except singing,

there are still countless songs left in me,

God has something special planned for me.

Because I’ve been able to captivate people, even if it’s just a few,

and even if it’s just a bit, I’ve been given the power to be able to sing.

With that being the case,

so that I can in the future put even more effort into [my singing], I’ll keep moving forward,

that’s what I’ve vowed.

This is the first time I’ve been so honest,

I don’t know how much can be cured,

and letting this all out, is scary.

But,

I will definitely

come back

So, please believe

in me

and in Vidoll

and wait for us.

We’ll put all our energy into the lives we have left,

and when I’ve made a complete recovery, we’ll be back,

You

will always make me happy.

Thank you for reading this until the end ☆

Also,

Rame, Happy Birthday.

The band will be taking a final tour before their activity pause called 「Res[e]t」.

August 24th @ ell.FITSALL
August 25th @ Osaka THE LIVE HOUSE soma
September 18th @ Shinkiba Studio Coast

Tickets for the first two shows cost 4200 yen, with the final costing 4500 yen. Ticket sales begin on July 24th.

cocklobin-going-on-activity-pause

cocklobin have announced on their OHP that they’ll be going on activity pause:

To all of our fans, and everyone who is connected to the band,

On May 16th after our our oneman live, 「再生」 (Saisei), we have decided to go on a temporary activity pause.

The reason for our activity pause is that although up until today we’ve been active for about a year and a half repeatedly doing lives and producing various works, we want to improve our music and in order for that to happen, were are making it public that cocklobin will be pausing from activites (lives and so forth).

The members all took many things into consideration, however after many meetings we decided that we couldn’t create new music with the way things are now. We hope that you can understand that we feel it is necessary for us to give undevided attention to making music, and therefore decided to take a break from live activities.

Furthermore, we have not yet decided when exactly we will be resuming our acitivites, however, when we have finished taking our time to create our new works, we will update with news of a new release and so forth.

Due to the member’s desire to perform, we will be performing at the live that we have planned for August 9th.

Until we restart our activities, we feel that there may be some fans who are worried about the break, however, it’s necessary for us so that we can create wonderful pieces, and return in front of you all. We hope that you will continue to support us.

cocklobin Members and Staff

The band’s last live before the pause will take place on the 9th of August at Nagoya BOTTOM LINE and will be entitled 『拝啓x様~麝香連理想~』(Haikei Yuu-sama~Jakou Renri Sou~) . Actually it’s the live when 雀羅 (Jakura) will be having their one-day revival and also when Seika’s new band will hold its first live.

Other performing bands are 凛 (Rin),-S-, Dolly, 砂月 (Satsuki), cocklobin, sho-ka, LADY, Schwein, 侍待 (Samuraimachi) and ジ・ハード (Ji・had).

The live is free to attend so make sure to go there if you have a chance!

the-world-goes-on-pause

Thanks to RYOTA for the heads up on this.

Back on May 13th, the WoRLD posted the following announcement on their band blog:

Thank you for continuing to support the WoRLD.

Although we just started activities in March, and we haven’t even been through two months of activities, as a result of a discussion by the members, we decided on May 10th that the WoRLD would go on an activity pause.

At the live we have already announced for August 6th, Shibuya, Hazuki and Kei will change their names, along with the band name.

To all of the fans who have been cheering us on, and to the staff and those connected to the band who have been supporting us, we are deeply sorry for the trouble that we have caused.

For our future activites, please look at each member’s blog.

We are truly sorry for this unexpected announcement.

If you check out the band’s OHP, you can see that they have removed the profiles of everyone except Tama. Please note that the announcement does not say that anyone is leaving the band, but that they are merely changing their name.

guruguru-eigakan-going-on-activity-pause

グルグル映畫館 (Guruguru Eigakan) have announced that they’ll be going on activity pause. However, before that happens, they’re planning a summer tour and a release of an album.

Anyway, the members wrote comments regarding that decision on their OHP:

Amano Tonbimaru:

And so, after everything, it has been decided that we will be going on an activity pause. I am sorry.
Overall, it is due to health reasons. I am keeping the name of my illness a secret (laughs). But it’s a lot of things combined, and I have to make sure I don’t overdo tough exercise and there are certain rules I have to add to my lifestyle.
I’ve actually had it for 2 years but I can no longer cope with it by myself (laughs). And I think this weak state of mind has lead to this [activity pause].
What kicked off this final decision was when, though it was just an instant, I fainted and lost consciousness at the Nagoya ELL gig on the 30th November 2009.
Recently there’s talk about the baseball player Takuya Kimura1, isn’t there?
I feel like I couldn’t give 100% on stage, which I think wouldn’t be right, so I thought I’d be brave and take a break.
However, another reason Guruguru Eigakan is going on an activity pause is because I’d like to try and do other small things [activities] here and there.

I will probably take part in both 「白塗り学園」(Shironuri Gakuen)2 and 「アーデル・リッター」(Adel Ritter)3.
I will probably take part in acoustic events and join in with other units [bands].
I also think I would be able to submit a demo tape of my new song to ‘MOBILE AMG’ (laughs).
Anyway, I think I’ll be doing a lot of things (laughs). I realise it sounds weird to call this an “activity pause”.
I also want to go on trips and do a number of gigs over the year.
’cause I enjoy Guruguru Eigakan

You’ll be seeing less of me for a while, but I’ll be taking a break for some time, and I think that if I find work in a factory or something I’d be able to live a correct way of life with set rules (laughs). If I can’t work well, I might come back sooner than you think (laughs). Ot I might end up in hospital (laughs <— not a laughing matter) I don’t wanna go into hospital (laughs).

There are only a few gigs left, but let’s finish them off with a smile! To laugh off pain, sadness and hurt, is the Guruguru Eigakan way.

Well then, everyone, from Amano Tonbimaru, this is a “Good bye for now~!!” (<— in an ex-captain fashion)

May 2010, a lucky day (<— evidence, haha)

Guruguru Eigakan leader Amano Tonbimaru

Numakura Shin:

As Guruguru Eigakan is a band made up of adults [grown ups],
instead of doing things until
our energy runs out and our ages catch up with us,
we’ve decided to continue our activities at a slow pace.
It means that you’ll be seeing a lot less of us,
but we hope to continue to bring out good new songs,
and do great gigs with a bang,
so please bare with us.

Numakura Shin

Gokimi:

This is Gokimi.
About our activity pause; for those of you who always came to Guruguru Eigakan’s gigs, thank you. And, I’m sorry.
But well, it’s definitely an activity pause which will lead in a positive direction, so please don’t be disappointed.
Everyone, please look after yourselves, and your health.
We will continue to do a few things here and there,
but Guruguru as a band will be going on a break.
Please support us until our final gig of our tour in August! (It wasn’t coming to an end so I’ve finished it there).

Maeda Kazutomo:

Hello~.

That’s right, we’re going on an activity pause.
By “pause” it appears to be for Guruguru.

However, I seem to be having some health issues too.
Especially this ringing in my ears…it’s not exactly a comment that a
member of a visual-kei band would say, huh (laughs).

Well, as it says in our leader’s comment
for me personally, our activities will be of a top class
like the level of a foreign artist.
Or like Laruku [L'arc~en~ciel].

And so don’t worry too much.
I’m not worrying.

Let’s continue to stay together for a loooong time!

As mentioned in the beginning of the post, the band has announced the release a new full-album in the summer! There are no details so far, but we will surely keep you updated!

Furthermore, before going on activity pause they’ll have a summer tour, which will be called 「或阿呆の半生後半~さよならじゃないじゃない~」(Aru Ahou no Hansei Kouken~Sayonara Janai Janai~). It will consist of few events and few oneman lives as well. The dates and venues are as follows:

utsusemi-on-pause

ウツセミ (Utsusemi) have announced that they will be going on an activity pause after their performance on June 10th.

Utsusemi Activity Pause

To everyone who has been supporting Utsusemi,

After our live on June 10th at Takadanobaba AREA, Utsusemi will be going on an activity pause.

This is the result of numerous discussions between the members.

To the fans who have been supporting us, to everyone connected with the band, we are truly thankful.

The only live we have left is on June 10th, but all of the members will put their fully energy into the last live, so we hope you can support us until the end.

The members of Utsusemi

Although the OHP and announcement literally say “activity pause”, judging by what the members have written in their comments, it seems like they will not be making a comeback.

Vocalist BrahmaN posted the following comment on the band’s OHP:

The reason that we decided to go on an activity pause on June 10th, was because I felt that for Utsusemi, having another member change was impractical.

The truth is, we talked about changing members and continuing on, however, I felt that doing that was unreasonable, and that even if we continued on with the band, Utsusemi would become… not Utsusemi, so we’re stopping.

Currently, the member’s feelings are split, but we plan to re-start with a new selection.

The songs of Utsusemi are not lies.

It’s been a band where I’ve been able to compose lyrics and songs freely my from heart.

I don’t feel that there are any lies in Utsusemi’s music.

I don’t know if I’ll create hundreds of songs in my lifetime, and I don’t know how many lyrics I’ll write, but to me, Utsusemi is art.

It’s been my art.

It’s been music.

It’s been my heart.

I’m proud of being able to sing the truth.

I’m happy that I’ve been able to sing freely like this.

I feel that music and art are like people.

They’re life.

A person’s existence is their life,
and I feel that that itself is a kind of art.

Utsusemi is going on an activity pause, however, I’ll keep on living to look for the truth.

I want to live with style, so I’ll show off my style to survive.

There are a lot of imitations in this world, and a lot of filthy things comes toppling down, but I was born, and until today, I will make each day a little less dirty. I’ve told a lot of lies, and I’ve hurt a lot of people.. but I’ve also been lied to a lot, and been hurt by many people, and even though it feels like human life is painful and sad, no matter how much we’re betrayed, we have to keep searching for the truth.

Throughout all of those days for all the things that we’ve dreamed of in the world, the truth isn’t something that’s just vivid, but it’s an imitation. However, nevertheless, we keep longing for that dream until the day that we die, we keep looking for love, and I even if it’s just a moment, I want to experience everything until I die.

Utsusemi is like a human emotion that can sing.

The dream isn’t over? There is eternal love? No matter what kind of sadness you face, the sadness is a reality of the world?

Pass your happiness on to others.

Thank you!

See you.

9goats-goes-on-activity-pause

9GOATS BLACK OUT have announced that after their performance on May 7th at Shibuya Quattro they will be going on an activity pause.

The band has not decided when they will be making a return to the scene or in what formation, but will update their OHP as the occasion arises.

The following announcement was posted on the band’s OHP:

To everyone who supports us,

Thanks to you, we were able to safetly reach the end of our coupling tour, 「deep sleepers」. Thanks to everyone it was very productive and a well-completed tour. Thank you. With the central theme of “Heaven to Hell”, we plan to complete our tour with our oneman live, “the Orphee”, at Quattro on May 7th using the world that was depicted in our album, “TANATOS” which was released on March 24th.

After that, 9 GOATS BLACK OUT will be undergoing preparations for our next phase, and therefore for a short time, we will put a stop to our events and live activities, will obstain from putting out new releases and will become dormant. We have not yet decided when we will be restarting our activities. During our pause, our official site (9goats.net), online webdesk (webdesk@9goats.net) and offical shop (9GOATS BLACK MART) will reman open. Furthermore, we will be updating our OHP, mail magazine, zoisite-information and so forth with information about the member’s personal activities during our activity pause.

After our live, “the Orphe” at Quattro on May 7th, both the members and support members will be discussing the future of the band. As a result, it is currently possible that there will be a change in formation when we restart activities. In that case, our oneman live on May 7th at Shibuya Quattro, may very well be the last live with the current line-up, and we therefore wanted to share this news with everyone who has been supporting us in advance.

We received more support than we ever expcted for 9GOATS BLACK OUT, and we’ve been developing our activities as a speed we had never experienced before.

It’s been something that has been a great honour for us. Therefore, we have decided that we will briefly stop our progress so that we can pursue our stance on the activities we want to pursue, alter the direction that our work is taking, and above all, so that we can show our growth to everyone that has been supporting us.

When we further develop the concept that the band carries of “can we strongly strike the heart of however many people with the the work and the music that that sound and voice bring?” we will be able to announce the revival of our activities.

The world of “TANATOS” which is sewen like a net is in everybody’s grasp, and opening part of it, the world will come alive, and deeply touch our hearts.
With that kind of performance, we can close the passage of “Heaven to Hell”.
Please be sure not to miss our return.

In regard to our new unit, we plan to carry on activities as if Monokuro Kinema was its parent.

We hope that everyone who has been supporting us can find someway to understand, and from the bottom of our heart’s, we hope that you will continue to support us.

Monokuro Kinema – All members

The have also updated the OHP with a comment from Tomoharu:

A comment from Ichimura Tomoharu
I’m truly sorry about the unexpected announcement.

For a long time now, I’ve been thinking about the kind of music that I want to make and how I want to express myself, and have come to realize that there are musical differences between myself and Monokuro Kinema.

And even though we’ve made some major changes, I felt that I couldn’t continue on doing activities as things are, and therefore made the decision to leave the band.

I am extremely grateful to the members who understood my situation and to our manager.

To everyone who has been supporting me thus far,
To all of the people connected to the band,
And of course to the members and staff,

For everything, I truly thank you.

I will never forget the time I’ve spent as a member of Monokuro Kinema.

I feel extremely grateful.
Thank you so much.

If we meet agan somewhere along the line, I hope you’ll support me.

Ichimura Tomoharu

Currently there isn’t much information about 「茜」 (Akane). However, they do have a website built for the unit which you can check out here.

nail-goes-on-activity-pause

Thanks to shiyuu for the heads up!

NaiL have announced that after their oneman live on May 3rd, they will be going on an activity pause.

Although it has not yet been updated on their OHP, the band announced it at their live on April 19th. レオ (Leo) posted the following in his blog:

We announced it at the live, but
on May 3rd, after our oneman live,
NaiL will be going on an activity pause.

I’m sorry for the unexpected announcement.

It wasn’t a decision that was easy to make.
Since the end of last year, there has been conflict among the members,
and we found that there were differences in the direction that we wanted to take, and musical differences,
which makes it hard for us to continue our activities, and so
the five of us decided [to go on an activity pause].

I know that I can’t just say something about it and expect you to say it’s okay.

However, the five of us,
will hit NaiL’s oneman head on, so
we hope that you can each experience it,
and will be glad if you can accept our decision.

If I was to put into words what I want to convey, I’m not sure how much I’d have to write, but
it wasn’t a simple decision, and I can’t find the words that will make everyone understand.

It’s not something that the five of us can simply
find the same answer to,
but it’s just that it’s something that only the members of NaiL can find
and it’s something that at the oneman, we all just want to be able to feel
so that’s what we’re working towards.

On May 3rd, the five of us will take shape.

Furthermore, on May 3rd, the band will be releasing a new single, 「OBLIVION/皐月+ボーナストラック入り」 (OBLIVION / Satsuki + Bonus Track). The price will be 1200 yen.

misaruka-goes-on-an-activity-pause

ミサルカ (Misaruka), who have recently lost their guitarist mizuki, have updated their OHP with the announcement that they will be going on an activity pause on May 27th.

We’ve been active for about two years,
since our formation in 2008.
However, Misaruka
is now announcing
that after our performance
on May 27th at NAKASAKA
we will be going on an activty pause.
We came to this decision
after we reached the conclusion that
in order for Misaruka to be active again
and to be better than we were before,
it would be necessary for us to
find new members,
and alongside needing time to prepare [for this],
each of the current members want to
“step up” (improve).
To all of our fans,
we are truly sorry
for having to deliver this unexpcted news to you.
We want to offer our heartfelt gratitude,
as the Misaruka that is active now,
is the result of everyone’s faithful support.

The Members of Misaruka and Staff

◇ Details regarding the member’s activities from hereon out ◇
Along with making an announcement on May 27th at NAKASAKA, we will be updating the OHP and member’s official blogs as the occasion calls with information, so we hope that you can wait [for the announcements].

c4-loses-shunsuke-and-goes-on-hiatus

The following message has been posted on C4′s OHP in regard to their guitarist, SHUNSUKE leaving the band, and their decision to go on hiatus until they are able to find a new guitarist.

We have an important message from C4 and Keasler Japan.

Currently we are hosting monthly events which are each produced by one of the members of C4, however, as our guitarist SHUNSUKE has been devoting his time to his solo project, THE FUZZ, he has suggested that he leave the band.
After receiving his proposal, both the members and management suggested that he do both activities in THE FUZZ and C4, but he is firm in his decision, and therefore along with SHUNSUKE leaving the band we have decided that C4 will go on an activity pause.
However, this activity pause does not mean that we are disbanding, and we will only be on a hiatus until we find a new guitarist for the band.

April 24th (Sat) at Harajuku Astro Hall
May 23rd (Sun) at Shinjuku Loft

The lives mentioned above will be our final performances with the current line-up.

We definitely hope that you can make it.

miu-going-on-activity-pause

Do you remember when we have written about MiU’s vocalist literally running away? Well, the remaining member, Shino, has decided to put the band on the indefinite pause. This is what he wrote in his blog:

miu2

Thanks to those who came to our gig, as always.

It has been decided that MiU will go on an activity pause.

Of course, it’s not what we intended.

I’d been taking part in the band without even thinking about activity pauses or disbandings, so when people around me ask, “Now this has happened, what are you going to do?”, all I can honestly say at the moment is, “I don’t know”.

I’d been so busy with practising how to play the guitar and sing at the same time, as well as re-arranging all our songs on the 7th, so I hadn’t had the time to think about it.

Now things have calmed down, I’ll begin to think about it.

It might not even be something to think about.

I’m definitely not going to sit around by myself, not sure of what to do.

Even if there are times when I’m hurt, when I feel pain or when I want to throw everything out the window, I will use my will power to keep moving forward.

I won’t blame anyone.

I believe that the “tomorrow” [future] I have chosen is bright.

It’s probably nothing to over exaggerate about; it’s simple.

As my thoughts have not come together yet, I will keep updating this blog.

I might continue to update with pointless entries, but I hope you will continue to support me.

Also, thank you for your letters, comments and messages.

From now on, I will face myself and the music, and keep moving on without any regrets.

Thank you.

six-bulletz-going-on-activity-pause

First of all some good news. The band will be featured in UNDERCODE PRODUCTION KISAKI’s selection omnibus CD, entitled 「Cure NEW AGE COLLECTIONS」which will go on sale with the Cure magazine on the 21st of April.

However, there are some bad news as well. Six Bullet’z went on activity pause on the 27th, according to the statement on their OHP:

Due to the drummer yu-ya’s situation at his home,
there has been difficulties in continuing our current activities,
and so it had been decided that we, Six Bullet’z, will be going on an activity pause
after the Butterfly Effect sponsored event entitled『リアプノフ指数』(Lyapunov Shisuu) on 27th February at the MESSE HALL in Sapporo.

Since Des’segnay, we have worked together for many years,
but as the reasoning for the pause is due to circumstances at home [for a certain member],
it can not be solved within the members ourselves, and it was with great regret that this decision was made.

After taking part in 「極北ノヲト」 (Kyokuhoku no Oto) last autumn, recieving such an offer from Cure,
as well as other great news, all of us members were ready to advance and continue moving forward,
but now we do not know how to feel.

We hope to put our all in our gig on the 27th February at the Sapporo MESSE HALL,
so please come and see us!

The event will be called 「Spring Memory」 and other bands participating in it are CLUB PRINCE and REIGN. The tickets cost 2500 in advance and 2800 on the day of the event. ]

Anyway, no official announcement about the decision was given as far as I’m concerned – I have found only the notice about the fact on both OHP and the official blog.

kasumis-activity-pause

Thanks to Lara for the heads up on this!

A while ago, we posted about the one day revival live that ラジオ体操 (Radio Taisou) is going to have in March.

Back in January, Kasumi, who is now a solo artist but was previously the vocalist for SMILE and Radio Taisou, posted the following entry in his blog regarding his break from musical activities.

Please note that he has not said anything about completely retiring from the music industry. He’s a student, he has a job and he’s a musician… that all has to pile up at some point and become quite hard to handle.

Regarding My Activity Pause
Ahh.
I’ve plunged into my university testing week.
It’s a week from hell.

After listening to Radio Taisou and SMILE songs, I keep wondering if I should practice… (sweat)
Sorry~

Things from my behind the scenes job have also piled up. To everyone concerned, I’m really sorry.
Also, I gotta write five new songs. Unrelated to that, I also have ten new sets of lyrics to write and singing to record.

Just as I thought, it’s pretty impossible to be a student, have a job and be a musician all at the same time.

I’m sorry, but after March 23rd, I’m taking a break~ (sweat)
As you can expect, I’m really tired (Laughs)
But for now, don’t use the word “retire”!

I’m sorry to all the fans of the “on stage Kasumi”.

Even though I started “Radio Taisou”, it seems like this time it’s just going to be a one night thing (laughs)

At any rate, I’ll do my best until March!!!!

On February 19th, Kasumi posted the following in his blog on the same subject:

Anyhow, you gotta keep going without any breaks.
If you stop, you’ll lose out to someone else.
Therefore, you gotta keep moving forward.

Right now, that’s how I feel.

Not only am I looking forward to March 23rd, but it’ll probably become a live where I’ll give some insight into what I’ve decided, and what my style will be in the future.

“Activity Pause” is what seems to be the normal way of saying it, but as far as being a person goes, I don’t have any plans to ”stop”.

Rather, more… even more than when I was in SMILE, I want to do things flashy and intense.
Only it’s temporarily physically impossible for me to do a live anytime soon, and I’ve been talking about changing my style.

My plans to move forward haven’t changed.

From here on, I’m going to speed up.
Seriously.

For the time being, I just have to work on getting my credits.
