I’ve been meaning to introduce that band here for a long time already and I finally got the POWÓD, when I randomly stumbled upon some great news I couldn’t resist posting.

So, the band members are:

Vocal: sho-ka | ex. Vogus Image as 昇歌 (Shouka)
Bass: Jun | from GaGaalinG, ex. Waive

The great news is the fact that they’ll release a brand-new single on the 26th of May! It will be entitled 「煌[kou]」 and cost 1200 yen. The tracklist is as follows:

01. 煌[kou]
02. Circus
03. 小宇宙 (Shouuchuu)

To commemorate the release, the band will hold 2 instore events as well. Both will take place in Tokyo, and there are no many details given except the dates: 5th and 20th of June.

If you are curious about how O-PARTS sound, check their MySpace for some samples from their previous and only release so far -「向日葵」(Himawari)!

Schwarz’s limited project : the Distorted my stratic Faith

A few months after Schwarz has left ケミカルピクチャーズ (Chemical Pictures), it seems he’s already back on the scene with a brand new (but time-limited) project called the Distorted my stratic Faith. So far, the band is only made of two members: Schwarz and さくら (Sakura) who’s been in SKULL from 2003 to July 2008.

They have also announced a few events they’ll be taking part in, but no release seems to be planned so far (if they ever release anything).

This looks really nice to me, and the members are also really cool, but I wonder, with just a guitarist and a bassist, who’s singing? Or is it just instrumental? I know they already have at least 6 songs but I wonder how it sounds… What do you think?

shouD is a band we haven’t introduced here before so let me start with that. The members are:

So, coming back to what I originally wanted to write about. The band is going to release their 1st single entitled 「Daybreak/行き場の無い感情」(Daybreak/Ikiba no Nai Kanjou) today (or still tomorrow for some of you). It costs only 1000 yen and is available in few of the CD shops selling indies stuff.

NyX down one

NyX, a very promising band, have posted a following announcement on their OHP:

We are sorry for the unexpected announcement, however, on January 15th, our guitarist Yuan left the band.

Due to his departure, we are unable to perform for a short time, and are extremely sorry to our fans.

However, we are currently in the middle of working on an album, and the two of us will continue forward.

We will continue to post information on our blogs, so please check it out.

NyX will continue on with activities, investigating music as we do, so please continue to show us your support.

Even though there will be some time, we’re looking forward to meeting you again at our lives.

Since we haven’t introduced the band here before, I have thought that I should, since in my opinion, they have real potential! So, the band formed in the December 2008 and has been active a little in 2009. The remaining members are:

Vocal: 傀音 (Kaine)
Bass: JACK.L

The band has released one single, except few demos, so far. It was released on the 29th of July under the title ｢Unknown Gate｣ and contained 3 tracks:

JILLS BLUE ROSES

It’s time for a band introduction, isn’t it. The band I want to talk about today is JILLS BLUE ROSES. They have actually formed around 2007 and have been (not that much) active in Tokyo. According to the band, their music combines an agressive tone mixed with melodious voice. Members are as follows:

Bass: Kachi (support)
Drums: Hiroki (support)

The band has released one maxi-single entitled 「Kiss Of The Dark」 and few demos so far. If you’re interested, you can listen to few samples at their OHP or on their MySpace.

New band, Jisedai Excite

Ex.JIVE member Kirio is now in a band again, after the session band 遅世代エキサイト (chisedai excite) have decided to become a full-fledged band.

They have renamed themselves to 次世代エキサイ (jisedai excite), and will have their first live on January 23rd at HOLIDAY Shinjuku at the KYOKUTOU GIRL FRIEND sponsored event.
They currently have four more lives on schedule after that one too.

Varbarossa

After a few disbanding announcements, I thought I should also introduce a new band because it’s always better to look forward to look forward to a new band than to see a band we liked disband.

So here you go for the new band, this one is called Varbarossa and they’re officially starting their activities today with a first live at Sendai HooK ! But, the truth is that the guys were already acting as a secret band since August 2009 after 望-nozomi- and 渚-nagisa- have decided to form a new band after Vanish’s disbandment (not the recently introduced Vanish). But they’ve decided to lift the ban and become a full-fledged band on January 1st.

As you can see on this flyer, Varbarossa has already announced their first single ! It’s called 「Dismay Sherry」 and it has actually been released on January 1st and it costs 1050 yen for the following 2 tracks :

I don’t really know why, but they kind of remind me of LAYZis ! The costumes are quite similar and the single’s cover really looks like something LAYZis could do as well. Let’s hope they’ll be just as good ! Last but not least, the band will make an important announcement for their second live on January 18th ! They’ve already released their first single so I wonder what it’s going to be…

Mamono’s new single

マモノ (Mamono), a horror-punk-metal visual band, will release a new single on the 6th of January – 「THE VICTOR’S MONSTER 」, which will cost 1260 yen. However, it’ll be pre-sold on the 4th of January at Shibuya O-WEST. It contains 3 tracks:

03. DOPE MAN

The band hasn’t been introduced on Shattered Tranquility before and since they’re one of the most interesting bands around, here is a short info about them:

Mamono have released several CDs so far, the recent one being a mini-album entitled 「PANDEMIC OF BEAST 」 from the 29th of July, it came in 2 types. They have also released a DVD 「 DEMON PAVILION 」 and few other maxi singles! One of their very few first releases was a mini-album 「ギ」 (Gi), which gained them some recogniztion on the visual kei scene.

missconduct news

missconduct is a band based in Tokyo that started with demonstration lives back in March of this year. Their official activities began on August 11th, with their live at Takadanobaba AREA.

Although they are currently a four member band, they have announced that on February 15th, their bassist Tsubaki will be leaving the band. In a few days, they will update their OHP with Tsubaki’s comment.

In good news, the band has announced that on April 24th they will be sponsoring their first event to celebrate their one year anniversary! It will take place at HOLIDAY SHINJUKU and is called 「Missing Link」.

At the end of December, the band will be selling a new demonstration single called 「Endless loop spiral」, and on May 5th they will be releasing their first single, 「The fate in roulette」. It will be a three track single for 1260 yen, and will be available for pre-sale at the event on April 24th.

New band – GLINT

Here’s a band I’ve been wanting to introduce on ST for about a month already, but I never got an occasion to do it… ok I’m just lazy…

Anyway, GLINT is a brand new band on the visual scene, and somehow I feel like they’re one of those bands we should all keep an eye on !

「LIBERATION　FROM　THE DEMENTIA」 is not only this event’s title, it’s also the title of their first mini-album that went on sale on that same day (November 1st) ! This first release contains 5 tracks and costs 2625 yen :

New band – BALLY

Introduction time ! I have to say, the first half of the year was pretty dreadful with all those disbandings ! But lately, there’s been quite a wave of interesting new bands !

BALLY is a young band formed back in August at Ryo’s instigation. They’ve recently opened their OHP and will have their first live on December 28th at HOLIDAY Shinjuku !

Their concept stands in only one kanji : 情 (feelings, emotion).

It seems they want to make a great start ! In fact, they will release their first PV single 「Undermined」 in December ! It will contain only one song and its PV for 1500 yen and it’s limited to 200 copies that you can get through mail order.

And last but not least, if you suscribe to their mail-magazine, you will get a password that allow you to download a free song called 「D」 (stands for Despair, Dependent, Desbelief and Destroy) and a wallpaper, so that you can give them a shot ! I’ve just listened to it a few times already, and it sounds pretty good ! Tell us what you think !

New band – VAJRA

New bands keep coming to light ! And among all those newcomers, there’s always a handful of very promising bands ! VAJRA is one of them ! Let’s see why !

Once again, I couldn’t find out if the members were in any bands before VAJRA because of the masks, and also because their profile pictures are not available yet. We may get to know more about them in the next few weeks…

But, after taking a look at their schedule, I’d say they’re probably not new on the scene ! Indeed, their very first live will also be their first oneman sponsored by Death trap-ID ! This oneman will take place on November 23rd at Shibuya RUIDO K2 ! And it seems if you buy your ticket in advance at Death trap-ID’s shop in Harajuku, you’ll get a free CD !

Talking about CDs, two days after their first oneman (in other words, on November 25th), VAJRA will be releasing its first maxi-single ! Entitled 「THE RISING SUN」, it will be limited to 1000 copies and will cost 1575 yen for those 3 tracks :

One month later, on December 23rd, their second maxi-single 「THE GALLOWS」 will go on sale. Details are yet to be revealed. New band – Saintia

セインティア (Saintia) is a brand new band that has formed this month in Tokyo ! But this may not be 100% true, indeed they’ve been acting as a session band for about 6 months before turning into a full-fledged band. They’ve opened their OHP about two weeks ago and are now getting ready for their debut live that will be hold on November 10th at Takadanobaba AREA !

I may be mistaking, but I’m pretty sure I’ve seen Haruto and Yoshito before, although I can’t remember what bands they come from… how about you guys ? No idea ?

Their music is based on agressive melodies coupled with melodious vocals… I admit this is not the most original description I’ve seen, but that doesn’t mean they won’t be good, so let’s keep an eye on them !

Here’s a very young band that’s been getting more and more popular for the past few weeks, mainly thanks to their Myspace and Youtube accounts.

Hailing from Tokyo, el-Ethnic Legist has formed in September 2008, yes, already a year ago ! Since then, they’ve been working very hard on their music and have performed a few lives. But it seems they’re now starting up the engine, as they’ve released their first album 「INDRA」 on September 11th, and are already planning a bunch of new releases, sponsored events AND one-mans !!

This first album contains 8 tracks, including a song called 「ドゥルガー」 (Durga) that they have chosen as their first Live PV ! Give them a try and tell us what you think !

No need to really explain the concept I guess, as you can see in everything they do that it’s clearly inspired by the Egyptian mythology ! I personally love their concept and how they use it in their song to make it unique.

And we’ll keep hearing from them in the next few months ! The band will soon be releasing their two first (and consecutive) singles : 「アスタルテ」 (Asterte), which will go on sale for their 2nd sponsored event 「PANDORA act 2」 on November 11th at Tokyo Meguro THE LIVE STATION. The second one will be called 「ガネーシャ」 (Ganesha) and will go on sale for their 3rd sponsored event 「PANDORA act 3」 in the same place.

And that’s not all ! Their second album 「アヌビス」 (Anubis) is also coming soon ! Guess what ? For their 4th sponsored event (I think you can guess how it’s called!) on January 16th (you can also guess where it will be!)

Finally, they will sponsor another event on February 20th (but no release this time) at Ootsuka RED ZONE before having a bunch of onemans, the first one being a free oneman called 「Chaostic Pharaoh act.0」 on March 27th at Meguro THE LIVE STATION. Details about the next onemans will be given later, but there will be at least three, in April, June and August !

Now if you’re still not intersted in them, I can’t do anything for you ! But to me, this is a band everyone should keep an eye on !

Best-album for Poitrine

Although ポワトリン (Poitrine) has disbanded back in June, it seems the band will be releasing a best-of on November 4th.

Entitled 「ポワレツ大百科」 (Poiretsu Dai Hyakka), it will contain 15 songs (I don’t know if there will be any new songs on it) and will cost 3150 yen.

Talking about Poitrine, did you know that Urala is not only acting as a support member for SOUND OF DRUG ? He’s also part of a band called グリッド (Grid) along with Aika and Seiji from ロドウェル (Rodwell) ! So far they’ve released 2 singles ! But they don’t seem to have an OHP, although you can follow their activities through Urala and Aika’s blogs.

First release for THE COLD MILK

THE COLD MILK is going to release its very first mini-album on October 28th ! Entitled 「獄」 (Goku), it will contain 5 tracks and will cost 2100 yen.

I guess we’ll have to wait a bit more before we get to know them better. For now, here’s a picture of the band :

First single for SiCroW

Details are still unavailable, but it seems SiCroW will soon be releasing their very first single called 「Observation Diary」 !

Once again, I don’t think we’ve ever introduced them on ST, so let’s talk about them a little more. SiCroW has formed in February of this year and started their activities two months later on April 12th. Since then, the band has been playing along with some really interesting and promising bands from Tokyo.

They’ve distributed their first CD 「The Killer Show」 on July 22nd, and according to the title and their look, we can assume they will sound rather heavy.

First single for Laevatain

After they’ve become a full-fledged band recently (they originally started as a session band a few months ago), Laevatain is going to release their very first maxi-single in October !

I don’t think we’ve introduced them so far, so I’ll write a short one ! As I told you just before, Laevatain started as a session band in the beginning of 2009, and they’ve recently become a real band after the arrival of a new member. Based in Tokyo, the band had its first live on July 22nd.

For a few days already, the band has been distributing a free demo but they will also be releasing their very first maxi-single called 『Remnant』 on October 17th. It will contain 2 tracks for 1000 yen :

Gadhuka turns into a full-fledged band

As I told you 3 weeks ago, Gadhuka has chosen to put an end to their activities as a session band. It was also already planned that they would soon be back with a brand new band.
