As interest in the Japanese visual scene, or 「ヴィジュアル系」 (Visual-kei) grows around the world, more and more fans are looking for a way to learn about and to connect with their favorite bands. However, the majority of overseas fans are not proficient in the Japanese language, and as part of the charm to the visual scene is being able to learn about your favourite bands and members, it makes it difficult for them to cultivate their interest.

Through English, the current universal language, Shattered-Tranquility.net aspires to bridge the gap between Japanese visual artists and overseas fans by providing services such as the latest band related news, information and interviews.

About the Site

Shattered-Tranquility.net is currently maintained by an international staff who are based in Japan, United States, Poland, France, and China. The site began on December 6th, 2007, founded by Adrienne, Mija and Hideko.

As fans ourselves, we understand how it can be frustrating and difficult to keep up with your favourite artists — especially when you don’t speak the language. The site is updated daily with the latest band news and information, such as new releases, live and event information, lineup changes, important announcements, costume changes, etc. All news is credited and taken from official sources, unless noted otherwise.
We also feature a variety of featured posts and articles:
・Exclusive Interviews
・Magazine Article and Interview Translations
・Random Fact of the Day
・Contests

Since the formation of the site, our focus has shifted, and along with providing fans with as much information as we can, we are building a community where those interested in ‘visual kei’ can come together. We encourage our readers to interact, and welcome supportive and constructive comments and opinions.

Shattered-Tranquility.net is looking to expand through our exclusive interviews and information. We provide our readers with immediate information in English, and ideally would like to offer a firsthand look into the visual scene.

Affiliates & Link Exchanges

We are always looking to work alongside other sites, organizations and companies who have similar goals in mind — making Japanese visual bands more accessible to overseas fans.

We do not offer paid advertising space, however, if you would like to become affliates or exchange links, please contact Adrienne or Mija through the contact form, or via e-mail. As we have specific banner sizes, help in banner creation can be arranged at no cost.

Shattered-Tranquility.net is not affiliated with any of the bands presented on the site. All images and media samples on the site are copyrighted to their respectful owners. Translations found on the site are done by the respective staff member unless otherwise noted. Please do not post our translations anywhere else without express permission.
