Lc5 Loses Two Members

Bad news for lc5 fans today. This week, members and staff announced that Bassist Sato and Guitarist Yumeji will be departing from the band after their upcoming live on March 13th. It seems Sato and Yumeji are leaving due to musical differences and their paths. We have translated their parting words and the official announcement posted to lc5′s OHP.
An important announcement for Lc5′s fans,
As well as all staff and related personnelThank you very much for always supporting Lc5.
We have an important announcement for everyone. It has been decided that after the March 13th live, Yumeji (guitar) and Sato (bass) will leave Lc5.
We are full of feelings of gratitude for all the fans and all the staff and personnel who have cheered us on since our formation in 2010.
From here on, miku, Reo, and Aki will prepare a new formation and intend to be active as Lc5 from here and beyond, so we would like to ask for everyone’s continued support and assistance.Below are the members’ comments.
————————
This is Sato.
It’s been decided at this time that I will leave Lc5 after the event live on March 13, 2013.During the time where we were searching for the course of action from here on as Lc5, my feelings of wanting to try, to know for my own possibilities grew stronger, and after talking with each member and staff I have decided to take a separate path from Lc5.
It’s been about three years since I met Lc5′s members, the staff team, and all the fans.
Beginning with lives and recordings, I was able to have a fulfilling experience that really cannot be replaced.
From now on my activity in Lc5 will be my nourishment for this life that is so limited, and I will continue to express myself my own way without regrets. It’s a sudden announcement, but thank you so much, everyone, for supporting me until now.
With love and thanks,
Sato
————————
I’ve come to participate in activity with Lc5 up until now, but as the result of searching for [a solution to] musical differences, I was unable to find a reason to continue activities with Lc5 as “Yumeji.”I am not living up to the expectations of all the fans who have supported me until now or the staff who have supported me behind the scenes, but I will start down a new path without looking back.
Thank you for all of your encouragement.
And, let’s meet again somewhere, someday.
Yumeji
————————
All the fans and all the staff of Lc5 –
I am sorry for startling you with this sudden, unfair announcement.Since hearing at the beginning of the year about Sato and Yumeji’s intent to leave, we all — the members and the staff — had waited for a time to talk until all of our questions could be answered.
As the result of many talks, we feel like this;
Because we respect these two, we accepted the intent of each of them and we want them to head straight down the path they chose.I have a lot of sad feelings, but I think for us, now, as similar artists, as good rivals and comrades,
the best path to take is to keep on boosting each other.I would like to warmly send off the two of them as they go down their new paths after this. And, I want you to anticipate the power and possibilities of Lc5 with a new start.
I promise you all now that we’ll deliver a more amazing “sound” and more amazing “lives” than before in order to not lose to the other two.March 13, 2013 will be a day for us, as Lc5, that will be remembered for a lifetime,
but we’ll keep on looking forward from here on, too, and moving on.
We would like to ask for your encouragement from here on as well.Lc5 miku / Reo / Aki

Gackt Crashes High School Graduation Ceremony
4
Mar, 2013
![]()

Students in Ohtsuki City, Yamanashi Prefecture at the high school attached to Ohtsuki Junior College were in for a treat on Friday when none other than Gackt appeared at the end of their graduation ceremony.
Gackt’s first appearance at a graduation ceremony was in 2006, triggered by emails from one of the school’s students. Since then, it has become something of a tradition for him to occasionally crash graduation ceremonies and take students by surprise.
In this particular case, the teacher in charge of the graduating class was the one to contact Gackt. “After we send out the 122 graduates on March 1, it’s been decided that I will also retire from teaching and will work in another place, and I’ve been wondering if there’s something I can do for my students,” he wrote. “I want them to set out from graduation with their hopes and dreams in hand!! Could you lend me your power to make this the best, most unforgettable graduation ceremony?”
He did just that.
Upon entering, Gackt addressed the students, “I want to say a few words to you; I brought congratulations from Tokyo. It’s unfortunate that this school will be closing, but in order for you to never forget that you came here, in order for you to feel pride for this school, and with these kinds of teachers’ feelings put in, I want to give you this song.”
He performed “No ni Saku Hana no You ni,” the song which he wrote for his first graduation appearance in 2006.
In true celebrity fashion, he kept the show short and sweet, and left students with a message: “I want to give you these words, as a senpai who walks only a bit ahead of you: A dream isn’t something you see. It’s something you make true; something that you can grant, something that you can stick to with a strong will. I have high hopes for your future. Congratulations on your graduation!”
We’ve found a cache of personal cell phone photos from the appearance over here.

Name Meto’s Bear
4
Mar, 2013
![]()

MEJIBRAY has started taking submissions for a name for drummer Meto’s yet-unnamed teddy bear. It’s easy enough to submit your own idea, so why not give it a try? The headline of the contest is “Please Give Meto’s Teddy a Name,” and on the band’s website they have asked fans to “please give Meto’s teddy a name; please become its godparent.”
If you’re interested, all you have to do is send an e-mail with your suggestion to info@mejibray.com — but it might be prudent to mention the contest name 『 メトのくまちゃんに名前を付けてください。 』 in the subject line!
Submissions opened on March 3rd and will be accepted until 8pm JST on May 31st. The winning name will be announced on June 9th at the band’s Akasaka BLITZ performance — but we’re sure the announcement will make its way to the internet as well.
Go forth and submit, and may the best name win!
