New Album for The Kiddie

The Kiddie just announced that they will be releasing their second album on 3/28! It is called 「MA★PIECE」, and there aren’t much details except that it will be released in two types, a limited and a regular edition. The limited comes with a CD+DVD and the regular only has the CD.

「園児のクリスマス会的単独公演

EXPLOSION is a small venue located in a small shop-cluttered neighborhood of Tokyo. It was windy and cloudy when my friends and I arrived after grabbing some hot drinks and santa hats to sport for the show.
Right on time the doors opened and staff was quick to organize, bringing in the first 20 or so S (special) ticket holders before relocating the rest of the mob to a nearby park to get us into numerical order. We were at the front of the A ticket line and ended up about halfway between the stage and the back of the venue upon entry. Considering how small the live house is, any spot in the venue was a good one.
The hall was decorated with all kinds of random items that were probably picked up from a local Daiso — inflatable swords, plastic dolphins, silk leaves, Elmo, and even a… frying pan.
Ensoku appeared in their new and bizarre Micky Mouse-esque getups and put on an unforgettable show.
An energetic performance of「イガトラ」 ["Igatora"] kicked the live off. We were treated to a new rendition of 「ししゃもLOVER」 ["Shishamo Lover"]. The more serious-feeling 「ココアシガレット」 ["Cocoa Cigarette"], thrown into the middle of a mix of bizarre hilarity, was a good change of pace.
With incredible energy, Buu (vocals) screamed half of his MCs. The band incorporated story lines to link their songs together, including a bit with Yusuke (guitar) playing as a shirtless “Shishamo Santa”. 「大銀河戦艦ナガト」 ["Daiginga Senkan Nagato"] and 「少女怪獣バンギャルラ」 ["Shojo Kaijuu Bangarura"], with their arguably epic sounds and story lines, were spiced up with passionate acting and props.
The band had the audience hopping all over the live house and participating in some silly, unique, and all-around plain fun furi.
The show ended on my personal favorite song, 「愛の流星」 ["Ai no Ryuusei"], another song with a more serious theme which Buu has mentioned that they play live very rarely. It was a treat to see.
Ensoku is a band I recommend for anyone, visual kei fan or not. They’re quirky enough to be fun for just about anybody. If you ever have the chance to see them live, take it. Without a doubt, you’ll come out of it with smiles and great memories.

New Release and Label for Plastic Tree

Earlier this month Plastic Tree announced that they have signed onto Victor’s FlyingsStar records! They also have announced that in February, they’ll be releasing a new single under FlyingStar. The details are yet to be announced.

Remember the new band, World Wrap Word, which we mentioned in this Random fact of the day? Even though they announced they’re making an official opening of their activities next year, they are already pretty active!
They have uploaded their first official photos of which you can see more on their OHP and have already announced a few live-schedule dates! It seems like they will be having a lot of lives with Dolly, as Yuina is their ex guitarist!

ICe0AGe Loses Ryo and goes on Pause

ICe0AGe have recently announced that, after the departure of bassist 一麻 (Kazuma) in August, their drummer 怜 (Ryo) has left the band on 12.20 due to personal reasons, and as a result, they will be going on activity pause until further notice. They are sorry for the event and state that they will announce their return in the near future.
New Single for Dolly

News from Dolly! They have announced recently that they will be releasing a one-coin single throughout their entire 「Seven colors on palette」tour, stretching from 2012.1.14 at Uwara Narciss, to 2012.2.2 at Shinjuku BLAZE.
It will be titled 「７番目の天使のパレード」(7banme no Tenshi no Parade), contain one song and will cost ￥500.

New Single for 9GOATS BLACK OUT

9GOATS BLACK OUT will be releasing a new single called 「Karte」. There details are very limited, but they did say that it is a three-track single. One track is called “any” and another is called “nude”, the third track is not known yet. The single will be released on 2/14/12.
2/14 is Valentine’s Day! I wonder if they deliberately chose the release date to be on Valentine’s Day. Maybe it has to do with the third track? We’ll see!

Moran’s Two-Month Consecutive Release

A while back Moran announced that they will be having a two-month consecutive release, and just recently they’ve announced part two of the release! Part one, 「L’oiseau Bleu」is released just a few weeks away on 1/11/12. Part two is called 「Snowing」 and will be released on 2/8/12. There is a regular edition and a limited edition for both singles. ROYZ have recently announced that they will release a new maxi single 「NOAH」 on 7th March 2012. Along to that, they will hold a one-man tour 「REBORN to “NOAH”」.
「NOAH」 will be released in 3 types:
A-Type (limited edition) will include 2 songs and a PV for NOAH. It will cost 1,890 yen.
B-Type (regular edition) will include 2 regular songs and a B-type bonus song. It will cost 1,575 yen.
C-Type (regular edition) will include 2 regular songs and a C-type bonus song. It will cost 1,575 yen.
The names of songs except “NOAH” and the album-art covers weren’t announced yet.

ASTRO BOY to Disband

Sad news from ASTRO BOY today, who were planning on releasing their new single soon.
It was announced earlier that they will be disbanding on 2012.3.14. After discussing with the members, it was decided too difficult to carry on, and they decided to disband. They will also be cancelling their release of HOLIC x HOLIC, which was slate to release 2012.2.22.
They are very sorry for the announcement and wish that fans support them until the very end.

TRIGGAH’s Third Single

TRIGGAH’s third single, DAZZLE, is set for release on January 25, 2012, with a single track (“DAZZLE”, of course) gracing the disc.
The interesting part about this release compared to their first two is that DAZZLE will only cost 500 yen, and is only available through Jishuban Club. Included with it is a comment CD, containing one of three different messages.

A(エース)’s Christmas Song

Today, A(エース)’s Christmas Song, 「White & Holy Night with U」 was released on Itunes, in 14 different countries, most of them European! Please visit Nimo’s blog to see the links for the songs.
And speaking of Europe…it seems like they are planning to have a 2012 European tour! There are not many details as of now, but Nimo says that they will go to 15 different countries in one month. The tour will begin either at the end of April or beginning of May! How exciting!
Annnd speaking of traveling to different countries…if you look at the profiles of the members on Ace’s website, Mucho’s picture has “NOW TRAVELING” written on it. Do any of you hearties know anything about this? What do you think about it?

Introducing Eins bei Vodka

The first time I read the name of this band it was on a ticket for an indies live I was going to and I’ll admit that it made me chuckle. In fact, even after seeing them perform, the idea of the band still makes me chuckle to myself. Eins bei Vodka (アインスベイウォッカ) is a modern band straight out of the concept of ’90s of visual kei; though they only formed recently in May of 2010 and are still quite unknown, they have quite a lot to give to an audience of visual kei fans longing for the old days.

It was hard to place my finger on exactly what they were going for when Mei sauntered in belly dancing on a stage with an assortment of Egyptian-themed prop miniatures, such as Anubis and pyramids. Though the band has a semi-German name, their costume, performance, and even musical themes heavily reflect their Egyptian and Arabian influences. On their website you can read background stories for the members, something reminiscent of MALICE MIZER in theatrics and plot.
Eins bei Vodka describes their work as
Heavy, profound music to prod at the core part of a human being which attempts all its actions for selfish purposes.
Constructing a peculiar world view with a stance which pursues nothingness and sadness.
The first thing one might notice about the music, however, is Histo’s incredible range. In a single song he can hit beautiful high notes, sing enchanting melodies, and scream and growl his head off.
Currently, they have no lives scheduled, but have recently self-released their third single, “jastina”, which is available at their lives for a mere 100 yen.
This isn’t a band you’ll be able to YouTube, but if the idea interests you, they’ve made it quite easy to keep up with them online via Facebook and Twitter. There’s also an assortment of audio clips you can hear on their Myspace.

For those of you who have been anxiously wringing your hands for the last few months, wondering when (and where) exactly they’d be back… Looks like next year March is going to be roaring like a lioness, with exist†trace making their second US appearance! Just short of a year after their April 2011 US debut at SakuraCon in Seattle, WA, the fabulous femme fatales of VK are crossing the Pacific and the girth of the United States to perform on a mini-tour spanning from Boston, MA to Pittsburgh, PA!
