レクレンズ (Rekurenzu) is a new band who will be having their first live on October 16th!
The band is made up of some familiar faces:
Vocals - みさき (Misaki)
Guitar & Programming – クマ (Kuma) [ex-beaU, ex-AibeLL, ex-GizeL]
Bass - ゆずき (Yuzuki) [ex-jail, ex-Homura]
Drums - まぁ (Mar) [ex-SectMa, ex-GizeL]
The band will be releasing their first maxi single on October 16th and it will be titled 「フィルターメィカー」 (Filter Maker). The single will be available for sale at CD shops around the country and more details will be released in the future.
On the same day, they will also be giving out a free demo CD at their live called 「オリジナリティウォーカー」 (Originality Walker).
The band’s OHP and schedule after the 16th has not yet been published, but we’ll update you when they are!

musicJAPANplus has announced that they are going to present a talk show with the the band D. The special will air twice, first showing will be on September 3rd and the replay will air the next morning on September 4th. Remember to check their USTREAM for coverage and news on the event. LUNA SEA announces world tour

How many of you guys caught the live stream of LUNA SEA? Finally we now know what the mysterious conference was for. Tuesday, August 31st – the band revealed what their “REBOOT” actually meant…a world tour! It starts this November in Germany and ends with a live at Tokyo Dome.

Matenrou Opera news

As you know, 摩天楼オペラ (Matenrou Opera) has their last indies live yesterday at Shibuya AX. A lot of news have appeared in members’ blogs since then, so first of all let me start with a new look:
Furthermore, they’re going to release a mini-album on December 22nd, entitled 「Abyss」 . It will come in 2 types:
・Limited Type – for 4500 yen, has a special packaging and includes a bonus T-shirt
・Regular Type – for 2500 yen, includes 7 songs + a DVD with a PV and a making-of
What’s more, the band has opened an official fanclub as well! It’s called 「Club摩天楼」(Club Matenrou) and it seems that so far it has only a mobile site. They’ve announced, however, that on November 5th, they’ll hold their first fanclub-only live!
Finally, I believe we haven’t mentioned it, but Yo and Ayame have twitter accounts now:

Toshi’s solo comeback

Some more X Japan news, this time positive and focused around vocalist, Toshi. Last time we talked about Toshi as a solo artist, he was going through hard times with his divorce and departure of Home of the Heart label. Now he is back and there is even talk about a new single coming out soon!
X Japan vocalist Toshi (44) recently stated in an interview that he will be resuming his solo activities later with a new single next month. He also mentioned that he will team up with Yoshiki to start a new project next year.
Earlier this year, Toshi revealed that he was divorcing his wife Kaori after more than 12 years of marriage. He also finally severed ties with the Home of Heart group (labeled by many as a cult), though he had to declare personal bankruptcy as most of his money has gone to that organization. In February, he held a “sayonara concert” to symbolize his break away from his past.
Now, with the help of his friend and bandmate Yoshiki, Toshi is getting back on his feet. In May, Toshi finished a piano and violin ballad titled “Crystal Piano no Kimi” and recorded it at Yoshiki’s studio in Los Angeles. The song will be released as a single in late September.
In addition, the two of them are launching a project in January called “Toshi feat. YOSHIKI,” though it will start off as just a solo project by Toshi. They are still determining how it will develop, though they seem to be planning to release CDs and hold concerts domestically and overseas, while still being involved with X Japan.

X Japan involved in another lawsuit

I’m guessing most of you guys already know about this but just in case – we’re posting it here for those who have missed it. Seems like Yoshiki is in a bit of trouble involving hide’s management company Headwax.
More details have emerged regarding the impending lawsuit between Japan Music Agency (the management office of X Japan’s Yoshiki) and Headwax Organization (the management office of X Japan’s late guitarist Hide). It was learned several days ago that Headwax plans to seek an injunction against X Japan’s use of Hide’s likeness unless they fulfill their contractual obligations, and now Yoshiki has declared that he may file a counter-suit if that happens.
X Japan has previously used images of Hide during their concerts. Most recently, X Japan performed two shows at Nissan Stadium on August 14-15.
Yoshiki informed the media on Thursday that Japan Music Agency (JMA) received a formal notice from Headwax on August 17. Headwax claims that the contract regarding the use of Hide’s likeness is invalid unless JMA completes its part of the arrangement. According to the statement, JMA owes 2 billion yen to Nexstar Corporation (X Japan’s former production company), while Nexstar owes 300 million yen to Headwax.
The situation is complicated by the fact that Yoshiki filed a lawsuit against Nexstar this past March, seeking roughly 375 million yen in unpaid revenue from 2008 and 2009. Sources say that the issue regarding Hide’s image started around that time, and that the matter picked up steam in early May, when an event for the 13th death anniversary of Hide was held.
Yoshiki and JMA publicly responded to Headwax’s notice, stating that if Headwax does follow through with a lawsuit, then there will likely be a counterclaim. Headwax said that their lawyer plans to release an official comment within the next few days.

VKB428 makes live debut

Okay readers – I need your honest opinion about this next story. Seems like there is a new twist to this group, normally groups like this are in the pop field but these guys are considering themselves visual kei. Their name is VKB428, which stands for Visual-kei Boys Shibuya (428 stands for Shibuya). They are a 7 boy group and so far it seems they are not done yet adding members. There is an audition section to their home page.
Their producer is Seiji who is the main vocals for SAMURAI BALL and has also been in projects like AGE-OF-EP, AcQuA EP and Club ACQUA. The other producer is Yoshinobu Toida who has done music for X Japan and Glay. Apparently this all started with an audition of over 2,000 guys and they select these 7 intial members.
The group will be broken up into 3 sub groups. V-team which will be the main guys, K-team which will have the sub guys and B-team which will contain the replacements. They had their first live on August 21st and were joined on the stage with familiar faces – Yugiri and Kazami of DaizyStripper. VKB428 are scheduled to hold another live on September 25th.
So what do you think? Marketing gimmick or do you like the idea? Opinions please. I think this project won’t last very long ><;

Time for another new band’s introduction! BONMAQUARY is a band which formed in May this year, but their first live was held on June 26th. Anyway, the band’s line-up is:

Cuartet’s one day revival oneman live

Cuartet, who disbanded in June 2005, will be having a one day, oneman revival live in May of next year.
The specifics aren’t set yet, however, the live will be called -ONEMAN OF LIMIT NIGHT- and they will be performing with five members:

Guitar - Aika
Guitar - Mayoi
Bass - Shinkichi
Drums - Junna
Along with the revival, Shinkichi announced that after the live he will be officially retiring from the music scene. He stated in his blog that he feels like this is a good chance to make a formal announcement about his retirement, and that it will be the last time in his life on stage.

アンド (AND) have announced that KAJI, who has been doing support drumming for them throughout their summer tour, has as of August 31st become an official member of the band!

Updates on Sadie’s new singles

Back at the end of July, we talked about Sadie’s three consecutive single release campaign and their 「Deep Impact」 tour!
Well, the second single in the campaign will be released on November 3rd in two types. The title has not yet been set, but the first press edition will cost 1800 yen and contain a DVD, whereas the regular edition is 1200 yen for the CD only.
Both versions are ready for pre-ordering on CDJapan, so make sure you reserve your copy!

Called≠Plan’s third maxi-single

Called≠Plan will be releasing their third maxi-single entitled 「Radical,Cherry Boy&Girl」 on November 10th!
The single will be their first release under the PLanet CHILD Music label, and it’s coming out in two types. Type A costs 1575 yen and contains a PV with the title track. Type B also costs 1575 yen, but comes with three tracks.

Called≠Plan started back in September 2009 with the concept of “mischievous rock” and consists of four members:

With all the disbandings lately it’s nice to see a few new bands popping up every now and then!
6→7 (pronounced Upper) is a new band that will be having their first live on October 5th at Takadanobaba AREA at dolore’s two consectuive month event, 「DIVINE REVOLUTION Vol.1」.
They are currently made up of four members:
