Vanish revealed

Well, it’s officially 2010 in many parts of the world, including Japan, and therefore the mystery band that we posted about here has been revealed!
The band’s name is Vanish, and their main concept is “dance rock”, which will naturally move your body when you listen to their music. They will have a variety of music, from cheerful pop songs, to aggressive pieces.

シンディケイト (CINDY&KATE) have announced that they will be releasing two new singles; one in February and one in April. We’ve already talked about the February one back here, but the second release will be out on April 14th and is titled, 「メトロポリス」 (Metropolis). Valluna’s new single

ヴァルナ (Valluna) have just announced the release of their 2nd single! It will be entitled 「Neo Infernal」and go on sale on the 15th of January for 1500 yen. It will be limited to 444 copies and as a bonus you’ll get a sticker and a photo.
Unfortunately, this will be limited only for live-sale and mail-order.
But! First 44 people will get a signed poster, so make sure to order the CD as soon as possible! The tracklist is as follows:

02. 神葬 (Shinsou)
Furthermore, it seems that this single is a part of a project coinciding with the planned release of their mini-album on the 28th of April 2010!
Finally, the band has announced that from 2010 they’ll be on the GALAXY label which is part of FIREBALL – the band asks for keeping on supporting them and thanks for all those, who have been doing that so far.

Sus4 disbanding

It seems that サスフォー (Sus4) have decided to end their activites on the 28th of December with their last live at Esaka BRAND NEW. No reasons were given, the band has just thanked for all the support given so far.

Dolly comes to Austin Texas

Dolly was announced as one of the bands performing at SXSW, the event is held every year at Austin, Texas. March 19th marks Japan Nite during SXSW festival and the bands announced are: Dolly, CHATMONCHY, Red Bacteria Vacuum, Okamoto’s and OMODAKA.
When they announce stages and times we’ll be sure to update you guys with more info! I know a few fans have wondering whats going on with Dolly and coming overseas for 2010 seems promising. Who is going?

CULT the Movie down one

CULT the Movie have announced that as of their live on December 30th, their guitarist, 優丞 (Yusuke) has left the band.
They apologize for the sudden announcement, and hope that fans can continue to support CULT the Movie.
Yusuke hasn’t updated his journal for a few weeks, so no news directly from him on his decision.

Kyohei of number mouse just updated about two new events the group will partake in. First event will be held on January 9th at HOLIDAY SHINJUKU and will have ∀NTI FEMINISM performing as well, advance tickets are 3,000 yen and 3,500 at the door. The second event will be sponsored by DeBug and will be at the end of the month on January 30th. So far band line up is DeBug and number mouse but they say more bands will be added later. Actually details on location, price and drink price will be announced later.
Along with those events, he also added that they have a new look! From our last update about the group, they added a support guitar player named GAKE.

ダウナー (Downer) have posted the following announcement on both their OHP and Visunavi:
We truly thank you for constantly supporting Downer.
On December 30th, our vocalist Anzu was hurriedly taken for a check-up as he was feeling ill, and as a result was diagnosed with influenza and is contagious.
Therefore, we have taken the liberty to decide that at our event on December 31st, only the four members, guitarists Miu and Hirari, bassist Kagome and drummer Rion, will be performing.
We are deeply sorry to all the fans that were looking forward to the performance, and to all those connected with the band for the trouble that this has caused.
Regarding our scheduled events starting from January 7th, we will carry on as planned with all five members, so from her e on in, we hope that you can continue to support us.

GACKT updates

On March 25th, the OVA 『殿といっしょ』 (Tono to Issho) will be released for 3990 yen. Dono to Issho is a comic that appears in the Media Factory produced comic magazine, 「コミックフラッパー」 (Comic Flapper) and is created by Ohba Kai. In June of this year, they put out their first anime CD, followed by the second round in November.
What’s so interesting about that?
Well, GACKT will be making an appearance (anime style) in the OVA! There will be a special episode on the release called 「GACKTもいっしょ」 (GACKT mo Issho) that will have GACKT doing his own voice acting.
On GACKT’s OHP they have also announced that the DVD and Blu-ray of the 「Animelo Summer Live 2009 RE:BRIDGE 8.23」 will be released on February 24th. Either version costs 9800 yen and the setlist includes three GACKT tracks:

DAIGO to star in musical

This is really random but cool, DAIGO will be doing his first staged musical in 2010 as Seymour in the beloved morbid classic – Little Shop of Horrors! If you don’t know the main storyline – he will be playing the lead role as a geeky florist who helps an alien like plant devour humans! Also some other character casts were announced, Abe Natsumi (ex Morning Museum) will be his love interest Audrey, Niiro Shinya and Bitou Isao will also be in the production. The show is set to run from May 13th-May 30th at Tokyo Shimokitazawa no Hondagekijou, so I hope some of our readers will be able to catch him!
So far, DAIGO (as an actor) has only done some voice acting and been in Love Shuffle and an episode of Stand Up!! so this is pretty cool to add to his line of roles.
His band BREAKERZ also just released their 4th album called FIGHTER earlier this month so he has been a busy guy!

DEATHGAZE live DVD

DEATHGAZE have announced that they will be releasing their first live DVD!
The DVD will feature footage from their live that took place on December 20th at Omotesando FAB called 「BLOODY ALL LOVERS」. The release will cost 3000 yen, but there is a catch — it will only be available for sale at their lives, starting on March 22nd at Takadanobaba AREA.
Those who want a peek at their 「BLOODY ALL LOVERS」 tour will be able to catch some footage on Bands@id starting on January 5th. The site will be showing video from DEATHGAZE’s performance on December 5th at OSAKA RUIDO.

Ends∞Infinity disbands

Ends∞Infinity have announced that they have decided to disband today; December 30th. The band has posted the following announcement on their OHP:
On this occasion, we have decided that on December 30th, Ends∞Infinity will disband.
We offer a sincere apology to the fans that have been supporting us, and all those connected with the band for the trouble that this causes.
Our reason is that we each have different goals for our courses of action, and therefore as a result of numerous discussions, we have arrived at the decision to disband.
Although this is an abrupt announcement, we hope that you can give us your understanding.

I feel truly and incredibly sorry to all the fans that have been supporting us thus far, and in all honesty, today I’m not sure what kind of face I should have when I stand on stage.However,
I don’t want to deliver my songs half-heartedly,
and as this is truly the last time, I want to experience the sound and the space that the members have created together with our fans.
Tomorrow, I won’t be able to feel it
