STELLA… news.
30
Apr, 2008
![]()
In February, the band STELLA… not only lost their guitarist Kouhei but announced that they would be going on an activity pause. They recently updated their OHP with some more news – their bassist 渉流 (Wataru) has decided to leave the band, and drummer 雪人 (Yukito) is not only leaving the band, but retiring from the scene.
Before I get onto what the members said, let me just say this is not an announcement that the band is breaking up. Eva is the only one left in the band, however, there is no official announcement of him calling the band quits. Furthermore, if you go to the profile page, you see Eva and his profile photo plus three spaces with “?”. So, it seems like he’s up to something…
Anyways, starting with Wataru, he says that his biggest reason for leaving the band was due to musical differences, however, in addition to that there were other, smaller reasons. He said that at the beginning, everyone was on the same page with the direction of the band, however, as they got into activities a gap formed and it became impossible to fix it.
Since his announcement, which was on the 26th of April, Wataru has been doing activities, including a session band on the 28th. It seems like he’ll be staying around and if you want to keep up with him, make sure you check out his blog.
Onto Yukito. He posted a message to each of the members, and this is just a brief rundown of each of them.
To Eva, he thanked him for from the time he asked him to be in their first band together. He says that he’s glad Eva is someone he could depend on. He loves Eva’s songs, even though he made him work hard. They were able to talk about things that weren’t related to the band, and he feels that Eva is a leader he can rely on.
To Kouhei, Yukito tells him that his guitar and especially his staging are hot and that they always captured his attention. He says that Kouhei made him a lot of songs, and therefore he was able to arrange them. He says that Kouhei was probably the one who was most concerned at a live, and tells him to keep fighting from hereon in.
Finally to Wataru, he says that they were the closest in age, and often talked about all sorts of things. That they were also the only two in STELLA… who smoked. Yukito liked the atmosphere that Wataru was able to create, and says that it’s a sudden confession, but it’s true. He also loved his bass. And of course, thanks him for everything.
To everyone who has been supporting him, he says thank you and that it was fun. He says that STELLA… was a fortunate band. He also writes a little message to himself, thanking himself and asking if he got even a little bit better. He said he truly enjoyed it. And wonders what he can see for himself. A bright future? Uneasiness? He’ll continue on slowly, all the way. And says that for him, this is the end of his [musical] activities.

4ge and Lay back in business!

![]()
Well here’s a new band I was excited to hear about!
4ge (Shige) who used to be the guitarist for Fatima along with Lay, Fatima’s former bassist have teamed up and created a new band called “obscure”.

Their new band is composed of three members (and some name changes), and the line-up is:
Vocals and Guitar - nobara
Guitar - zizi makia (formerly 4ge)
Bass - cake (formerly Lay)
As written on their official MySpace:
Cake and Zizi Makia announced that they disband and start to seek own way.
After a year, Cake and Zizi Makia got back together under Cake’s vision to start a new band.They have started to compose music and had auditions for a vocalist.
They eventually chose Nobara, an Art college student, as their vocalist from over 100 candidates auditioned.With an addition of Nobara’s Fab and attractive voice.In April 2007, the band “Obscure” was formed in Tokyo, Japan.
Their sounds is: it is not only loud music but also dreamy and luscious and strange with deformity.
Their artworks are also produced by the band where we can get a glimpse of their view on world and fabulous talent.They currently don’t have any releases, but you can hear three of their songs on their MySpace page. Their official site is also very interesting so make sure you check it out!

… does anyone else find the bunny costumes incredibly terrifying? I mean, I’m a huge lover of bunnies but it makes me feel like I’m tripped out on something. O_O I was hoping to see 4ge and Lay back on the scene but I can honestly say I never anticipated anything like this.
That’s not a criticism by any means. I’m just very surprised as their new venture.
Go check out their samples, and make sure you let us know what you think.

Cradle / 90$

![]()
Well, it looks like Cradle, who announced back in March that they were going to be going by 90$, is back to Cradle, commencing with full-blown activities and participating in a fourman live on May 24th. The other bands included are ZEST, ROCKECTREME and auncia.
On that day, Cradle will also be having an important announcement. However, bassist Masato wrote a little note in their mail magazine with the news of an important announcement asking everyone to look forward to it. With such optimistic words, it doesn’t seem like it would be anything bad.
I mean, it’d be a little cruel to say HEY LOOK FORWARD TO OUR ANNOUNCEMENT, and then on the day going HAHA WE’RE BREAKING UP!!11!! So, that doesn’t seem like it’s going to be anything of that nature.
… right? Haha.
brodiaea news!

A friend of mine left me a message this morning, telling me to check out the UNDER CODE OHP. So I did and I found that brodiaea, who on August 30th of last year, announced that they had left their former label, Jupiter Records, has now been the newest addition to the UNDER CODE label! Along with this, they have new releases and an event planned!

So, first up is their new releases.
Two new singles are coming out on the same day; July 16th. The first is called “Lily” and the second is “僞-fake-” (Nise). Both contain two tracks, are limited to 3000 copies and cost 1260 yen.
Then, on August 20th they’re putting out a new mini-album! The title will be “di;Vision” and it’s set to be a five track album, however, one of the tracks will be their song “Carcass” which was previously released. The price is set at 2100 yen and like the singles, it’s limited to 3000 copies.
On July 12th, they’ll also be having an event called “vanishing beauty” in commemoration of the CD releases and their two year anniversary. The event will take place at Shinsaibashi FANJ-twice and the other bands particpating are: Arc, ClearVeil, WHITEBLACK, born, Aya, Villain, Mist, Lycee, Oyuugi Wagamamadan×【PaRADEiS】. The tickets cost 3000 yen a piece and go on sale starting May 17th.
Despite the fact they recently lost their guitarist, Tsubame, they’re definitely going strong! Personally, I think brodiaea is a pretty good band, and I’m glad to see them take off like this! UNDER CODE really is piling on the new bands lately, aren’t they?

Anachro Clock officially disbands
28
Apr, 2008
![]()
In August of 2007, アナクロクロオク (Anachro Clock) announced that they were going on an activity pause. However, the band has now officially announced their disbandment.
There have been a few things going on with the members. First off, no one’s been able to get in touch with Shiki, the vocalist and they don’t seem to know where he’s gone to. Therefore, Sin and Maya together decided that this was the end of the band and apologize to everyone that they’re unable to offer any comments from Shiki regarding the disbandment. However, they do think that maybe he’ll write something in his journal about it and if he does, they ask that their fans read it.
Guitarist Sin, is currently working under the name “masahiro” as a game sound creator, and bassist Maya, while being in mayabeya also is planning to continue on doing support work, and participating in various projects.
Maya wrote the comment, and of course apologizes for the way things have turned out. He says that although they were only in activity for a the short period of a year, each of the members were able to learn new things and gain experience. He also thanks the fans for their support from the bottom of his heart.
In November of 2008, Anachro Clock’s website will be deleted.

Poll change!
28
Apr, 2008
![]()
It’s Monday night which means out with the old poll and in with the new!
So first let’s take a look at the results from the previous question:
How much money would you be willing to spend to see your favourite band live in concert?
* $50 – $100 (43 Votes)
* $100 – $250 (41 Votes)
* $250 – $500 (22 Votes)
* $0 – $50 (16 Votes)
* $1500 or more (15 Votes)
* $500 – $750 (8 Votes)
* $750 – $1000 (6 Votes)
* $1000 – $1500 (5 Votes)Total Voters: 156
I know some readers shared their opinions on this question on last week’s poll post, but if you have any comments to make about the previous or current question, we’d love to hear from you!
As I said before, I personally chose $100 – $250, because the most I’ve spent to see a band was about $150. I was actually really surprised at the number of people who said $1500 or more! That’s some serious dedication!
Anyways, the new question is up so answer away!
If you ever have any ideas for a poll question, please let us know! It’s actually pretty hard to think up a new question every week. I always think of something during the week, but forget to write it down, haha. But if you have any ideas, we’d like to hear from you. ^^

I think it’s always fun to hear about band members and their pets. So for today’s random fact, I bring you ジゴロ (Jigolo)’s vocalist 華遊 (Kayuu) and his pet ferret.

The ferret’s name is Shana, and according to Kayuu he is not only super cute, but just as smart as he is! That either speaks wonders for Shana’s intelligence, or very little for Kayuu’s….

Two pieces of news about the band glacier!
First, is that in July they’ll be releasing a new single called 「南国少女、Radio「pm4:00」、蒼い美ら島」 (Nankoku Shoujo, Radio「pm4:00」, Aoi Biratou), which will cost 1200 yen.
However, the second piece of news is that this single will be marking their major debut as the band will be signing with Nippon Crown!
I must say, I’m quite surprised to find that some of these bands are going major! That’s not a criticism or anything, but it never seems to be the ones I expect, haha.

Random Fact of the Day

While SCREW was playing the question game with their blogs, the question “What color snow would make you happy?” came up. Their responses went like this:
Byou: The color of snow, it’s been white since the beginning so I truly think it’s ok if it’s white. Honestly I can’t imagine it being anything other than white.
Kazuki: Snow is white, but we say a silvery snow world, therefore if the world was truly the color of silver, wouldn’t it be pretty?
Manabu: …What color snow doesn’t mater because snow is supposed to be white and you can’t have any other color!
I think light almost transparent snow is good.
Yuuto: If the snow was pink it would be cute, wouldn’t it?
Jin: White (then he later said “Let’s dye the snow the color of SCREW”)
If I had to pick a color, I’d want snow to match the color of my fur so I can hide myself in it easier…like a spy. A winter spy. What color snow would make everyone else happy?

アローネ~Araune~
27
Apr, 2008
![]()
So many of our readers seem to love hearing about new bands, and I hope that you’ll find this one interesting! They’re not brand new, because they formed in 2006 but didn’t have their first live until November, of 2007. The band’s name is アローネ~Araune~, and it’s another band on the scene with female members!

The members are:
Vocals - Hakua
Guitar - ころた (Korota)
Bass - 佑 (Yuu)
Drums - Yuki
When you go to the “Araune” section on their OHP, the following poem (I’d call it a poem) is written:
Forming the same way as
A voluptuous flower petalStringing together
a great number of soundsBringing forth fresh potential
Becoming
a flowerDeep red
overflowing with deep emotion isjoined with purple,
suspicious, quiveringInside
The darkness
that is poisonedThey lie on top of
the pure white,
which had infinite potentialThe wild blooming night
That ties things down
Sets everything
Free… Yet with unprecedented circumstances …
Come now, the world that is not yet known
With those five senses“Shall we fully bloom?”
On their OHP, they have lyrics of thier songs up, but no news of an actual release. However, you can hear samples of their music on their official MySpace page! I chose one of the songs to put in the post about them as a sample, and this is a short sample of their song “cry”.
Audio clip: Adobe Flash Player (version 9 or above) is required to play this audio clip. Download the latest version here. You also need to have JavaScript enabled in your browser.
People always seem to be so excited when a visual band has girls in it, so as always, let us know what you think.
A.Q.U.A

![]()
Back in February, we talked about how ex-Gram∞Maria’s vocalist shi-no had already started a new band called A.Q.U.A. However, details on the new band wouldn’t be available until April 25th.
Sorry it’s a few days late, but here’s what’s going on with his new band!
According to the band’s introduction on Visunavi:
The sound of running water.
The water’s fragrance
Black rain.
Red blood.
The wriggling of the vehement waves.
The ripples of a peaceful waterside.That which makes us human.
Beautiful, Transient, Vehement, Warm.
We paint the surface of the water with various expressionsSo what is singing anyway?
What is expression?We want to assemble musicians under one theme and make music that you don’t get tired of.
The members of the band are:
Vocals - KILI
Vocals - SHINO
Guitar - AKI
Bass - KAGE
Drums - SEA
They don’t have a photo of all the members yet, but hopefully one will be available soon!
They had their first event on the 25th at Holiday Osaka, where they also released a free demo CD called 「蒼」 (Ao). On the 28th, they’ll be giving out another free CD at their live called “BLOOM” and one more on May 1st, called “183″.
