GLACIER is a five-member group from Okinawa, comprising of Makoto on vocals, Nao on lead guitar, Koujirou on rhythm guitar, Aki on bass, and Yuuki on drums. 砂月-Satsuki- began his solo career on February 14th, 2009, after spending seven years as the vocalist for RENTRER EN SOI. So as of January 01, 2008 [Japan time] Shingo is taking Koto’s place as bassist of Sugar, and they’ve announced they will be releasing their first full album called “SWEETEST” on March 5th. Also on the OHP they put samples of the songs on blossom as well as a clip of the blossom PV. So go check it out.
Another update from the SAS site. On January 6th a new addition to the label will be born. -The UnForGiveness- The project is lead by KANZAKI and so far no other names have been attached. KANZAKI used to be known as KAMIYA and was vocals for bands such as MARRY+AN+BLOOD and RIBBON (with Emiru and Kazumi who are both ex LAREINE). Nothing is really known about this project except that from the mini SAS debut trailer, the style of the music will be very classic and elegant! Again much excitement!! More will be posted once KANZAKI updates the new blog on the site.
Their new hp is located here, under Kamijo’s label – Sherow Artist Society. Earlier in the fall, the band lost 2 members Mika and Karen. Their new members are Anzi and Ayame . With a new site, a new label and new members the band is back and we can’t wait to see what the New Year brings for the band!! They look so great!! RYONAI (ex Blam Honey) has sent a New Years message to fans from his myspace. He even made a graphic for fans, which was really sweet. His English is pretty good so you can email him or add him. He openly talks about designing, graphics and music. Along with Kiwamu (BLOOD), RYONAI has been doing lives with a new comer to the vk scene, GPKISM (which I think stands for Gothic Prince Ken-ISM ?). I have a bit of spare time and decided to check up on everything, and was surprised to find that Kaya has cancelled the performance he originally had planned for tonight due to his poor physical condition which was brought on by influenza and a ‘unique’ type of pneumonia. He can hardly talk, let alone sing so he was forced to cancel tonight.
Let’s hope that he gets better soon!

Wow I am really excited by the new changes on the SC24 site. They recently started to add videos with English subs for their oversea fans! So far they have a NEU page with videos and subs, and a Girugamesh page. Lets hope they continue to make more pages with more bands! They also were cool enough to start a blog for fans to keep in touch, they even reply to your questions and comments! This is a very good move in my opinion. Okay rumor time but Ko-ki from NoveLis might be in high school still? Seems like this myspace account could belong to Ko-ki, if it is his – then he states he is in high school still. Read one of the blog entries on the account. I know myspace shouldn’t really be a source since people rp on there and make fake accounts etc. But myspace is becoming a more well known thing to vk bands. It also seems like bands these days are getting younger and younger….or maybe I am just getting too old? So what do you guys think? Are most myspaces we see out there real or fake? I see that alot of people have added Yoshiki’s account, does he update that himself? What about this account, could this really belong to Ko-ki and is he really in high school?? I am 22 and I feel old compared to some new bands…so weird *dies* ><;

On March 14th, +ISOLATION will be hosting a birthday live event for its creator, Tomozo. The event is titled “医療ミス撲滅運動とお誕生会”. The event will have a few other bands playing along side with +ISOLATION but no final word just yet on who they are. I’ll keep in touch and update with a final band list once they post one.

NoveLis is a fairly new band that released their first single back in May. They are gaining popularity and on Sunday (December 30th), they will be having their last live event of the year. Other bands listed to play are: Danger☆Gang, メイ, ELL., Blast a Skize and more….
The band will also have their first oneman live on February 2nd!! They will start off 2008 in a great way!!
The band announced yesterday on their site that since their December 16th live, they have been known as SectMa. Even though the title of their news post is called “Name Change Information” it really doesn’t explain why the band went with the name change. Last night was their last event for 2007, and of course their name on the band list is SectMa. It really doesn’t make a difference but seeing the new spelling throws me off.
Okay, I’ve been noticing posts like “I like the look of BlahBlah, but I was wondering if they are male or female????” on lj comms. Which in this time and age, is a common question since females are starting to become more noticed in the vk scene. Before we only had females like LUCI’FER LUSCIOUS Violenoue or Kyouko from Inugami Circus-dan (just to name a few), and now we have Layla, exist†trace, and Danger☆Gang etc….
What do you guys think about all female vk bands or female members? Does it matter to our readers or other fans about gender? Or does gender not really matter? Are there any of you that just like a band for their music and don’t think about gender? This isn’t pointed at anyone, I just wonder how many of you care or don’t care about gender. To me, if the vocals and music are good then I am sold! I’m curious to know what you think!! XD
After 2 months of no lives, the band is coming back with new music and new visuals. From the logo change and their new look, I am guessing they will be less colorful. Also, they have a new mini album coming out in February! Its called: Departure of one’s lot. It will contain 5 new songs and come in 2 types. Type A will have a pv and type B will have a bonus track and a slightly cheaper price. They also have a good number of lives lined up, so keep an eye out on the new changes!!
FOOL’S MATE came out with the 3rd issue in their new magazine series. Yes thats right, they are on issue #3! But the issue is still called Vol.2??? WELL, the series started with issue #0 with D on the cover and then issue #1 with MUCC on the cover. The newest issue has Merry on the cover. I for one never looked through FOOL’S MATE EXPRESS so I have no idea how it differs from a normal issue of FOOL’S MATE. I am thinking more shiny images and more interviews? Maybe less ads and live house info? If anyone knows please correct me. The issue has already been on stands so you can order it on visuavi shop for 1,300 yen.

Lobelia formed on March 04, 2007 with Rin, Rei, Miu, and Aki. The name Lobelia was decided in April, and the band began underground activities in May, and Kishin joined the band in September. Their first live was December 2nd.

I just wanted to say that I don’t know if I’ll be able to update the blog at all over the next twelve days as I’m off to Holland to visit my best friend, so updating this won’t really be at the top of my to-do list! (No offence, haha).

And, this news actually surprised me a little. Don’t know why, I should have seen it coming for a while now… but hey. Any and all Miyavi fans will be glad to know that in 2008 that boy is going on a world tour.
That’s right. It’s called “THIS IZ THE JAPANESE KABUKI ROCK TOUR 2008″ (Love it).
He plans to cover the USA, Germany, England, France, Finland, Korea, Taiwan and China.
I’m sure more details will be posted somewhere on the internet at a later time. (They might be now, but I still have to pack so I can’t go searching. If you find anything, feel free to comment here).

Not many details on the next one, but TINC (ex-Shelly Trip Realize… which was a WAY cooler name) will be having their first oneman live of the new year on April 20th at Takadanobaba AREA. The particulars will be released at a later date.

Last but not least is Alice Nine with the announcement of their “premium live” (what the hell does that mean?) called “STROBO LIGHTS～aliceneine.Premium live show～” that will take place on February 14th at Shibuya’s C.C Lemon Hall.
So those of you and ONLY those of you who are club ALICE members are able to get the SS and S section seating (it goes SS, S, A, B… from closest to the stage to farthest from the stage) and are able to take photographs of the live with cameras they will be giving you as a present.
However, if you want those premium seats you’ll be paying dearly for them. SS seats are 10,500 yen, S seats are 8400 yen, A level are 4200 yen (at least that’s more normal) and B seats are 3675 yen (bring some binoculars… I’m just kidding).
Tickets will go on sale starting January 26th and I can imagine they’ll sell out pretty damn fast. So if you want one, you better jump on it.

LM.C has announced details of their new single that comes out on February 20th, called “JOHN”. They’ll be releasing three types, including the first press (the A type) which is a CD and DVD. The DVD will include the PV to “JOHN”. Type B is also a first press limited release and instead of containing the DVD, it comes with a bonus CD with a re-mix verison of “MENTALLY” on it. The last type is the regular edition.
The prices have not yet been set.
