On the cusp on their two-year anniversary, four-piece band BASH! has announced that they will be going on an indefinite hiatus following their one-man on January 23rd. Here is a translation of the announcement from their homepage, by S-T.net’s Shannon:
An Important Announcement from BASH!
Thank you for your continuous support for BASH!
BASH! will go on indefinite hiatus following our one-man on 1/23/2016 at Abeno ROCKTOWN.
We had a meeting to discuss our 2nd anniversary in January. After much discussion, the members have decided to use this timing to reaffirm their own paths in life,
and so they’ve decided to enter an indefinite hiatus.
There are only about 2 months left, but we’ll continue on until the end with all we’ve got.
Please come and support us.
Here are comments from each member.
I’m sorry things turned out like this.
It was a difficult decision.
But this is what we decided was best when taking our futures into consideration.
I love the members, our BA’s, and BASH!
BASH! created BA’s,
and BA’s kept us going.
I feel sad thinking about losing even one of you,
Because I feel like we’ve shared a lot together. I wonder if you feel the same way.
I don’t think I’ve realized just how important and precious you are to me until now.
Even so, I don’t want to go back in time.
I want to hold the memories I’ve made these past 2 years dear for years to come.
You’re all my family, and I hope you remember us always.
There’s only a bit of time left.
Let’s face the end together as a team.
It doesn’t matter how you feel about it.
I want my past and present to be able to live on in the future as well.
I hope we always feel like home to you.
We came to this decision after taking into consideration our band activities for our third anniversary and our own paths.
As BASH’s leader, I wanted to keep this band at all costs, but we weren’t able to do that.
I’m so sorry to all of our supporters.
I’m grateful to all of our BA’s, our staff, and everyone involved who has given us their support.
I’ve grown a lot in this band. It gave me a place where I belong.
This announcement may be sad,
But it’s a decision we made because we care about each other and our futures.
This was the first band where everyone felt like family to me.
I’m proud of what we’ve done.
BASH! will keep on playing until our hiatus.
We’ll show you just how cool we can be.
I’m sorry for the sudden news.
We talked about this a lot before coming to this decision.
We’ve pushed our limits in our 2 years as BASH!
When we talked about our future, though, we realized that what each of us wanted to do and wanted to aim for didn’t line up.
It would be unfair to our BA’s to continue on like this.
So we’re going to take some time to reassess our own goals.
We’re not on bad terms. In fact, we’re getting along better than ever.
We’ll give these last shows all we’ve got.
Come see us while you have the chance.
Let’s turn a moment of music into an eternity.
To all of our supporters
I’m sorry for this sudden announcement.
The members met to discuss and align our feelings and goals for the future. We had so many meetings, but in the end, this is what we came to. I’m sorry for letting you down.
It’s sad that there are only 2 months left,
But we’re going to put our best effort forth. Don’t miss it.
We’ll make January 23 a day to remember,
So that BASH!
Can live on in your hearts.
Please come and see us.
The one-man in question at Abeno ROCKTOWN is titled “All Good Thing Come to an End”, which does not broadcast a great deal of confidence regarding the band’s murky future. Doors open at 18:00 and the show starts at 18:30. Tickets are 3000yen in advance and 3500yen at the door.
