It’s been almost 10 years since electronic duo Schwarz Stein disbanded. Since then, Kaya and Hora have been pursuing solo projects. However, on March 23, 2014, Schwarz Stein will be coming back together for a revival show!
Although Schwarz Stein disbanded in 2004, that was not to mean the end of band activities. They have not officially reformed, but Kaya and Hora have put on quite a few revival shows since their dissolution. The most famous revival was in 2006, when they came back together as another cell, to release a self-titled mini-album. In 2011 they held a performance to commemorate 10 years since their original formation as Schwarz Stein. With this concert, they released mini-album “Recurrence of Hallucination,” named after the concert itself, and also released a DVD of footage from the show later on. Since then, they have been performing every once in a while.
Kaya has recently announced on his blog that another such concert will take place in 2014. The date is set for March 23rd, and the venue, although undecided, will be somewhere in Tokyo prefecture. Details for the upcoming show have not been announced yet, but we will keep you posted when they are.
Since Schwarz Stein disbanded, Kaya and Hora have both been pursuing solo careers in the music world. Kaya released an album called “Gothic” earlier this month, and will be touring extensively in 2014. Hora’s most recent release was this past June, but he will be releasing a new album called “Desolation Beauty” in early 2014. The end of Schwarz Stein also did not mean the end of Kaya and Hora collaborating–Hora continues to compose a fair amount of Kaya’s solo music.
