Sad news for a band we haven’t formally introduced yet, but that doesn’t mean that they don’t have any fans.
But boy, it is going to be a sad day for you Gagagaga fans.
Gagagaga announced that their vocalist has decided to leave the band, and following his leave, Gagagaga will pausing all activities.
ガガガガ (Gagagaga) is a four member indies band based in Tokyo. They officially began their activities at the start of April 2012, and have successfully released two singles, “G4″ and 「やっぱり地球は青かった」(Yappari chikyuu wa aokatta) since then. They’ve also attended and performed at a few lives, and have yet to hold their first one-man but it looks like the band will be on a pause before that will happen, so you can’t expect it anytime soon, if at all.
Those who know about Gagagaga may have seen the news coming, just by looking at the rough start the band had and the conflicts of interest between the members, which was explained by vocalist Sadai in a post he left on his blog. Take a look at the official statement left on their OHP, translated by S-T’s news and translation staff member Shannon:
Thank you for your continued support for Gagagaga.
We have an announcement from Gagagaga today.
In June 2013, Sadai declared his wish to leave the band.
From those words, there have been many continued discussions among the members.
The oneman titled,
“Bunmeikaika sono saki” [Beyond Westernization] Taking Gagagaga’s whole story until now, and to find the will and meaning of ourselves so that we can cultivate our future from that day on, we all agreed as 4 members to take that determination and name that live.
However, we came to the conclusion that it seems that because carrying that will and continuing is difficult the way things are now,
Following January 2014, we will put into effect a pause in live activities as Gagagaga.
As for activities in February, right now it’s a completely blank slate.
Our options after that will be announced depending on the members’ decisions.
To all of our supporters and to all of our staff, we understand that this will cause you a lot of trouble, but we ask that you please understand us.
The last chance you will get to see Gagagaga perform with Sadai as vocalist will be at a sponsored live at Birth Shinjuku. If you’d like to see them all together one last time, consider picking up a ticket!

What do you guys think of the news?
As a news poster I see a lot of bands coming and going, but I find it sad to post hiatus/disbandment posts of bands who haven’t been able to go far with their career. So let’s give the boys our best wishes and success in the future!
