anki to Depart Due to Severe Opposing Views, llll-Ligro Goes on Hiatus

Visual Kei fans aren’t going to like this one, that’s for sure.

llll-Ligro announced this week that the band will be going on hiatus and their guitarist, anki, will be leaving the band after their December 19th live at Meguro Rockmaykan.

The announcement that anki will be departing from the band seemed to shock many fans, as llll-Ligro had kept such a wonderful front that things were going well. However, unlike most bands that have a departure, it doesn’t seem that everything was fine with the band on a personal level; in fact, llll-Ligro announced that the reason behind anki’s departure was not one of musical or planning differences, but one of a fundamental issues within the band and its remaining members.

For most fans, this was the first time they heard of any issues arising from the members in regards to anki, who had joined the band back in 2011. And, unfortunately, it was already too late.

AdventureTim of Shattered-Tranquility has translated the band’s official message from the member’s blogs  for your reading pleasure. Please note that we are currently working on anki’s blog entry. However, when it is finished you can expect to see the translation only here at Shattered-Tranquility.

Thanks for cheering on llll-Ligro- even more than usual.
We have an important announcement for all our fans.

Following our concert on Thursday, December 19, 2013 at Meguro Rokumeikan, our rhythm guitarist Anki will be departing, and along with that, llll-Ligro- will be going on hiatus.

In the roughly two years and three months since Anki joined the band and started playing with us, there have begun to be lots of misunderstandings and disagreements in the way he views the band, his standing with the other members and our views on our future development.

As we talked, it came out that those disagreements weren’t just “creative differences” or “different plans,” they were “opposing views” on the fundamental nature of the purpose of the band.

It’s not just a simple question of who’s right and who’s wrong, as this is a special circumstance where we don’t have correct and incorrect answers, so sometimes we butted heads, other times we gave in and compromised a little, and all the while we kept on playing as we tried to find the right path for llll-Ligro-.

However, when it comes to the questions of what a band must pursue, what llll-Ligro- truly needs–those kinds of problems that have no answers, but you still have to face down and constantly evaluate, we stand consciously as complete opposites,
and while both parties made concessions and grew as people, we couldn’t deny that all these compromises were diminishing the all-important basic concept of the “individual.”

After some serious thinking on the aims of the band and our future direction,
after acknowledging that that if either one of us were to compromise, the compromising party would have to stomp on the entire foundation of their beliefs on the matter,
everyone has come to the conclusion that everyone continuing on together as members is not the right answer for everyone.

As stated above, this is not a problem of who’s right and who’s wrong, this is a forward-looking decision that we must respect each of the opposing viewpoints here, and have each one of our members maintain their wonderful “core” without ever being shamed by anyone for their thoughts.

We’re deeply sorry that this announcement has come so suddenly.

We hope that you’ll keep cheering both for Anki as he goes his own way, and for the rest of the members of llll-Ligro- as we put forth the possibilities for our new arrangement.

From all concerned members, November 23rd, 2013
