It seems all is not well at LuLu General Hospital.
In February, LuLu announced their return after the departure of their bassist Ryusuke and the hospitalization (no pun intended) of their singer, Taa. With their newest member Maatsun, Taa’s recovery, and a full schedule, things seemed to be looking up.
However, today it was announced rather abruptly that things are not quite so.
Guitarist Sayuki of the Psychiatry Department announced last night at their live at Ikebukuro CYBER that the band will be going on an indefinite hiatus, and he will be permanently departing.
Shattered-Tranquility’s Ku has translated the following message from Sayuki’s Ameblo:
To all the patients who came [to the live] today, I’m sorry for the unfortunate announcement.
As we announced today, LuLu will be going on an indefinite hiatus.
To put it frankly, this is largely different from the activity pause last year.
Last year’s hiatus was established as a period of preparation for a so-called new LuLu, to get a new vision and a new member, and to restart activity around the springtime.
But this time is different.
I don’t know if it can be called disbanding, but supposing LuLu restarts activities, Pshychiatrist Sayuki will not exist.
The conclusion that came about after staggering amounts of distress was that I’ll quit LuLu.
The reason is that since the time I joined the band, the one sturdy thread that tied me to LuLu as a member has been severed.
When I expressed this to the other members, there were members other than me who said they would quit, which has forced us into a hiatus.
And, I forgot to say it today, but the hiatus does not start now.
January 5th is Maatsun’s birthday examination [live], and January 19th is an independent examination [one-man live].
After that, it may be the end.
Still, there are many considerations, so I can’t say at the present moment when the final examination [live] will be.
We will announce it as soon as it’s decided.
These were a long-feeling short five years, but I was allowed to experience so many things I wouldn’t have otherwise experienced.
I got to see so many smiles.
I was able to smile so many times.
I wanted to realize even more dreams, and I wanted to grant yours; I’d like to go on living absolutely believing that day will come again.
For now, let’s meet again next year.
Thank you so much.
The band will continue with their currently-planned activities until at least January 19th, where LuLu is set to perform their Independent Examination One Man live. As stated by Sayuki, no plans for a Final One Man have been determined as of this moment.
Shattered-Tranquility will continue to report on this disbandment, so continue to check on the site to find out more information as it is released.
We at Shattered Tranquility wish LuLu’s members luck with their future endeavors.
