When LOST ASH disbanded in December 2015, fans of vocalist Daiki were relieved to hear that the singer would continue on as a solo artist. He held shows nearly every month in 2016, but as time wore on, those shows became fewer. Now, Daiki has thrown in the towel for good. Here is our translation of a series of Tweets he made on November 1st, 2017:
“I would like to announce that I have put an end to all activities as both a musician and an entertainer. Thank you to all of the fans, friends, and family that supported me.
Since I began solo activities, I felt that I chose to wager my life on making it as a solo artist. I gave it my best shot. I make it a point to try my best at anything I set out to do.
But at the same time, I started to feel the gap between what I was and what I imagined for myself grew wider.
I guess that obstacle was too large for me to overcome.
So, I’m putting down the microphone and trying a different way of life.
The memories of the precious time I spent with you will be the bread of my daily life.
Everyone, I hope you’ll be okay.
Daiki’s Twitter account remains with only three Tweets and the profile message “Thank you for your support.” Fans of LOST ASH and Daiki will surely be upset by this loss, but we hope Daiki will find success in his new life.
