Kaya Goes 'Gothic'

Kaya, Taboo

“This is my love.  This is my darkness.  To the beautiful world of darkness…”

These are the words with which Kaya introduces his 3rd solo album, “Gothic”, a string of in-store events, and a One-man tour.

“Gothic” is set for release on December 4th in two different versions ‘Type A’ and ‘Type B.’  They are priced the same, but ‘Type B’ includes an extra song composed by Kaya himself.  The concept of the album, as the title suggests, is a dark, gothic sound.

The lead song, composed by Kalm (ex. Velvet Eden) includes, on top of Kalm’s usual digital sound, recording with live instruments.  This is an exciting first time challenge for Kaya.  The album also includes songs composed by Hora (ex. Schwarz Stein),  Rookie (「A (エース」(A (Ace))) and Ken Morioka (Soft Ballet, KA.F.KA).  This will mark Kaya’s second collaboration with Ken Morioka, after single “TABOO.”

Perhaps the most exciting news for Kaya fans is that Type B of “Gothic” features Kaya’s first ever composition!  The tracklists for both albums are so far unreleased, but we will keep you posted!

Both versions of the album will be available from CD Japan:

Title: “Gothic” Type A

Release: December 4th, 2013

Price: 3675 yen (Tax included)

Title: “Gothic” Type B

In support of his new album, Kaya will be traveling the country both performing, and holding in-store events.

First, Kaya presents ‘Gothic Elements-Prologue’ a special free One-man mini-live in honor of Gothic.  This live will take place on December 14th, somewhere in Shinjuku with support members TaNa (guitar) and CHARGEEEEEE (Drums).

Here’s how to attend: fans who purchase either version of “Gothic” from Like an Edison, Zeal Link, Jishuban Club or Project X will receive with it an invitation card, different from each shop, which details the location of the concert and serves as a ticket.  There is a 2 drink fee of 1000 yen.

There will also be a free, in-store event held at Tower Records Shinjuku on December 15th, including an acoustic mini-live and a chance for fans to take pictures with Kaya.
