The visual kei industry nowadays is more than familiar with announcements of announcements. That is, when something big is about to happen we oftentimes hear about it vaguely in advance, with a publicized date for the big reveal of whatever surprise lurks behind any announcement notice.
When a band makes an announcement of an announcement ahead of time, it can be for a number of reasons: to create a stir to bring them more attention in the visual kei world, to let fans know there’s something big on horizon that they might need to start budgeting for, or, perhaps most commonly — in the case that an announcement is scheduled to drop at a live — to get more people to attend a live so they can get the news firsthand. It’s an excellent marketing strategy, and an excellent way to set fans on edge to the point they might start checking OHPs daily for updates!
In most cases, all we can do is wait. This time, it’s for CELL: a notice showed up on their website recently, that on November 29th — the date of their tour final with LIN — they have something big to tell us.
Cellular (CELL fans), stay tuned.
