I thought everyone loved fanfiction lol glad to know I’m not the only one that hates it~
Fanfictions are just creepy, no offense but they are, and imagine what it would do to the band it’s written about if that band saw it, the members involved (depending on the type of fanfiction anyways) would probably avoid each other if they thought that’s what people thought of them. That’s just my opinion lol
I tried out a Harry Potter Fan Fic a couple of years ago.
It just wasn’t rally my thing..
If I were famous I wouldn’t want anyone to write such things about me.
At least those Yaoi Fan Fics. *shrugs*
No Kirito x Kohta for me, thank you.
I actually really like Jrock Fanfics. :3
I read them on a regular basis and also try my hand at writing some. ^^
Even if Jrockers could read English and somehow read a fanfic about them, it might disturb them but i doubt many of them would really care about it in the long run.
I’m sure they have to put up with a lot more **** than fangirls writing about them doing things to eachother. XD That’s probably at the bottom of their list of worries, and hey, fanfics are in a sense free publicity for them, anyways. I know that because of some fanfics ive read, ive gotten into a few bands and even like a few bands more than i already did. ^^
(I actually buy the DVDs of the GazettE’s lives just to see with my own eyes if Ruki and Reita do anything together on stage~! I know, im hopeless, but a little fanservice is good for fans~! Jrocks know this, so thats why they do it~ Miyavi is a good example of this~ XD He’s kissed many Jrockers in his time. <3)
BeautiFOOLish, you pretty much took the words right outa my mouth XD
I really do like band fics!
On a side note, fanfics don’t ALWAYS include yaoi… sometimes people like using the band’s inside jokes to make (innocent) comedy fics. Those are always great to read, and they somehow make you more interested in the band(s)
Haha, I didn’t mean they aways include yaoi. ^^;
I just see that a lot.
Of course they have more to think about then
someone writing a fan fic, Im just saying that
I personally wouldn’t like it.
Sometimes… I don’t like yaoi, so it’s hard xDD but I do read fanfics on occasion, especiall if a friend writes it or something. But I’m not a huge fan~
(And this new poll is HARD!! T-T)
I read it on occasion these days.
I don’t have an issue with Yaoi as in the past I’ve read Yaoi manga pretty regularly. But I do sometimes find Jrock fic a bit creepy and am pretty picky about what I’ll read.
Usually, I have to already know that the person can actually write [... I'm an Literature major after all ... I like stuff to actually sound good].
I’m more fond of the comic band fics than hardcore yaoi ones, and my one really huge pet peeve about fic is that it bothers me greatly when people try to turn something they’ve read in a fic into some sort of version of reality … fic is fic, it is NOT real. [just to clarify, I don't mean like making icons or having fun with the idea, I mean the people who seriously seem to think or convince themselves that that is the way it is. Thankfully, most people seem smarter than this ^^]
I love fan fiction, though I prefer stories about bands I’m not big fan of. I find that I tend not to read stories about anyone I’ve met. It seems impolite and strange. Emotional distance is vital for suspension of disbelief.
On the surface, fan fiction’s pure fantasy and escapism, but I’ve read some wonderful stories that do great work of synthesizing lyrics or band image concepts, tear down what it means to be a celebrity, or contain some great moments of prose.
