D.I.D Officially Retracts Hiatus

didrevIn June of this year, D.I.D went on an indefinite hiatus due to their vocalist, Akane, being admitted to the hospital after being diagnosed with bipolar disorder and schizophrenia.

About a month ago the band made a return, posting on their OHP that they would soon be releasing a new single, uploading a sample to YouTube, and announcing a show for October 5th. Today the band has some great news for fans, as they have decided to officially retract their decision to go on hiatus, and will continue on forward as a four member unit – Akane included.

The band posted the following announcement on their OHP and Official Blog:

Last night, on October 5th, for Akane’s “(Re)birthday ONEMAN” at Takadanobaba AREA, Akane performed a complete revival, and we there have withdrawn our decision to go on an indefinite hiatus.

We apologize to our fans and staff for the worry and trouble that we have caused you.

Since Akane was hospitalized, he has been supported by everyone’s voices and thoughts, as well as the members and staff.

As repayment, we will continue on as D.I.D. and push forward, concentrating on living up to all of your expectations.

We ask for your increasing support of the newly restored D.I.D.

It’s wonderful to see D.I.D make a full return! Fans, keep your eyes open for more details about their upcoming single, “Fatal Error Race”.

This is basically the news that made me stay, I was considering giving up on VK bands, as there simply weren’t any bands left that I feel any connections to.

D.I.D is something amazing, how Akane can come out on top through such a struggle, in such a short time.. blew my mind.
