In September, CELL drummer MASATO was hospitalized, and as a result the band had to bring on a support drummer at the last minute. Yesterday, MASATO reported via his blog that he was safely discharged from the hospital after a combination of acute tonsillitis, poor immune system strength, and repeated fevers prolonged his stay. He mentioned that
My nose and throat have always been weak, and because I have tonsillitis, hereafter I’ll be talking with my doctor about the direction of treatment from here, including surgery.
Now, facing recovery, I’ll work towards getting my strength back little by little,
but it seems that my visits to the hospital will continue for a little while. Because of this condition, it will be difficult to participate in the lives that are currently planned…
From here on, I’ll talk with our office and the other members and decide [what to do].
Tonight, his band mates have announced that a decision was reached: in order to focus on his treatment, MASATO will not participate in CELL’s performances for an indefinite period of time. Instead, a support drummer will continue to fill in for him.
