Sel’m is diligently preparing for their upcoming one-man this Sunday, but unfortunately, drummer MANJ” won’t be able to perform.
Sel’m announced yesterday that due to a worsening medical condition, MANJ” requires surgery. Since the band doesn’t know how long it will be until he recovers enough to return to band activities, they’ll be playing with a familiar support drummer for a while. Read the announcement below for all the information (translated by yours truly):
We thank you for your continuous support for Sel’m.
Due to the serious worsening of a herniated disc in MANJ”s lumbar vertebrae, doctors have determined that surgery is required for his recovery.
After discussing it with the other members,
We have decided that he should take a break from band activities in order for him to fully recover.
MANJ” will not perform at our one-man performance on 9/12 (Sat) at Shinjuku LOFT.
All lives after that will be supported by ex. DEATHGAZE’s Naoki on drums.
We don’t know when MANJ” is expected to make a full recovery at this point in time.
After devoting some time to recovery and consulting with his doctor, we’ll reassess and notify you when we have more information.
We sincerely apologize for causing such worry and inconvenience.
Please continue to give us your support and encouragement.
The Members of Sel’m and Staff
While MANJ” will be missed during his recovery period, hopefully ex. DEATHGAZE‘s Naoki can be a good fill-in.
Sel’m’s one-man takes place at Shinjuku LOFT on September 12th (Sun). Tickets are 3000yen advance, 3500yen same day. Check out their OHP for other upcoming lives and to stay updated on MANJ”s recovery process.
